Tourney didn't run very well. People went out to get food a bunch I kept asking people to get something or anything. I didn't eat anything all day except one chicken nugget RJ gave me. Plus, I just felt sick the entire time.

this **** is 10 percent my fault for being the host and 90 percent the fault of those who didnt bring wii setups with brawl, cuz we were pretty **** consistent with quickly getting the next tourney matches done.

If your attention span is so short that you thought that that was "too long", then perhaps I should have only put: "gkirby = whipped"

But in all seriousness, people, especially yourself, gkirby, should read the follow...

...we were pretty **** consistent with quickly getting the next tourney matches done.

Not really...since people were randomly out for food WHILE the tournament was still going on. But we did our best, despite that.
Seriously, you should make and enforce a time limit rule, where if someone is more than like, 3-5 minutes late to their tournament match when no other tournament match can take that TV in that match's place at the time (i.e. they're holding up the tournament), then they will auto-lose that set. (With double-losses possible, if both are absent, in loser's bracket.) But to compensate for food runs, give a 30-minute break between two of the tournaments.
This was how we did things back in the FTS era of hosting, which was more organized (except for the friendlies that went on constantly, then). People are guaranteed at least 30 minutes for food runs. And for those that got eliminated earlier, they have even more time to get food. And if someone is expecting themselves to be in finals, then they can have someone else get their food for them if they want more time to eat.

I'm sorry to hear that. There's so much disrespect for other people's property in our scene; especially gkirby's, whom has been generous enough to let us use his house for tournaments (Our ONLY tournament venue at the moment, to boot.)

Though I do agree some things need to change. People need to start learning that tournaments can go by faster if you stop playing friendlies and let the REAL tournament matches go on. Also, let's try and have a real schedule from now on.

I'll bet you guys $100 I went to an even worse tourney on Saturday.

Las Cruces tried hosting a tourney off of 2 brawl and 2 melee setuos. The host "lost" $200 of the po money ad said first of each event gets 20 and second gets nothing. I was told I would be banned if I did any more money matches! We had to fight to get our money back and just bail on the stupid tourney. It was the least organized thing I've ever seen. A ******** monkey being sat on by Rosie O'Donnel could run a better tourney.

And we had to drive 3 and a half hours just to get to it >.<

I agree with PC as for the Organization and Time Limit.

I agree with Dryu for the format. I think it should always go Teams, Singles, Plus.

2 T.V.'s for Melee is more than enough for the people that actually wanna play it.


I also am kinda steamed about the lack of respect for things around there. People are always touching things they shouldnt. Like my controller than got "misplaced" when i left it in a obvious place.
Also, when I brought my laptop this time, I'd go do a match and pause my game, by the time I came back my game was either closed or minimized, my PC had been used, whether people were searching my files or using my internet.
If you wanna use my Laptop just ask, i don't even care what you do on it as long as your not downloading **** or looking at porn. I'll literally kick your *** if you do that.
