Alright, so I have the majority of my calculus done now. :D I just need to keep working on my essay this weekend. I think that is all I need to really do.

Yamer just called me, said he would love to go, so we got someone to ride with us. He said he'll try and stay the night at my place tonight so we won't have to pick him up. Plus he knows people, so if for some reason we have no place to crash, then he can find us a place to crash.

So that leaves one spot vacant in my car, anybody can still grab it.

Yeah, but if I get tired or want a break, I'll switch drivers. I do want to read this book I got.

How is that selfish? The same amount of people are going to go down, so it should be fair they all pay THE SAME AMOUNT.

Well, you're essentially asking one the others to go out of their way (i.e. they live in Utah County, but have you ride with you, who lives in Salt Lake County, instead of just riding with the other people from Utah County) just to spend MORE on gas so that YOU could spend less.

You're simply only debating the parts that you have a comeback to (and not a good one at that), and totally ignoring the other things.
YOU (i.e. lanky_gunner) are still asking others to pay more so that you can pay less (it doesn't matter whether anyone else also benefits, or what the big picture is, as that's not my point).
Here's an example (numbers are just to make it easier): let's say the whole trip would cost $600 of gas per car. X's car would has four people, so each pays $150. Your car has 2, so each pays $300. If one from X's car transfers to yours, everyone pays $200. Now, I'm not debating whether or not the price is "fair" for everyone (if you view the big picture, then yes, splitting the car evenly would yield a result that is the same for every person, but that was never what I was trying to get at in the first place); I'm just saying that you are asking 3 people to each pay 33.3% more so that you can pay 33.3% less.
Now, it could be "selfish" of the four traveling in X's car to not want to split up JUST because they would pay more, but that's a different issue. That still doesn't change that fact that you wanted what you wanted.

The next time you come up with a rebuttal, challenge the main point I'm trying to make.

I first mentioned AZ on 8-17-09 and then again on 8-23-09. I was the first one to reply to AZ when they told us on the 23rd we should go, saying we were going to try and go. Then AZ asked again on the 27th, and I said we were, and then Sinz replied after me, and then it was awhile before AZ got brought up again.

FYI, i'm bring a case of water for everyone, if we all pitch in and just spend 5 bucks each. that could last us the whole trip there. someone get fruit. snacks, candy, etc. It would make things a lot easier so we can get down to AZ ASAP.
