Hello,

so I have a Toshiba and the charger that originally came with it stopped working, so I bought a new one recently that works with it as well. However, the one that I got is only about 4 feet long and it's a pain that I can't use my laptop far from an outlet unless I wanna unplug it (and the battery life isnt that good).

My brother, a while ago bought a charger (targus brand) for his dell but he doesn't need it anymore. I was wondering if it would be safe for me to use it? The charger tip fits into my toshiba and the details for each charger is such:

Original Toshiba charger
Input:
AC 100-240V
129-175VA
50-60Hz
Output:
DC 19V
3.42A

Targus charger
Input:
120-230V
2.5A
Main Output:
15V-24V
5.5A
PPS Output:
15V-24V
5W Max
Total Output:
90W

Chargers aren't brand sensitive like the other parts themselves so I don't see why it would be harmful for your Toshiba if you used a Dell charger with it.

Let us know what happens.

Lol, adbot trying to help.

Targus chargers are designed to be sensitive to what your laptop needs. They are more or less universal, so you'll be safe. The main issue is when you plug in something with a set higher volt rate, or different amps. ;x
