Over the past 4 years I have been trying to get smashers together in this somewhat obscure secluded area with little success. However, lately the interest here locally in the Marquette area has blossomed a bit and we have a couple of hand fulls of low to mid level smash players, and we are always looking for more. We'll probably be sending at least a couple of people to Melee FC from all the way up here, with no real expectations but just looking for a fun time playing smash.

We play Melee and 64, and a couple of us are trying to get online with Project64k very soon in the future. Hopefully that will work out and we can get some more interest going up here, and maybe send more people to FC. Anyway, this is a total shot in the dark, but hopefully someone out there is closer than I thought.

See you at FC/online!

Frogles and Gio live in michigan, but frogles is an antisocial weeaboo, Gio is the devil, and I'm pretty sure neither of them hails from the upper peninsula.

Yeah I have read about your mm coming up with Gio, and although I only really know about you, I have to side with him seeing as I have to pull for the Michigan peeps! I play on a Hori pad, what do you guys use? Also I may need some extra help to get this online thing working. I had it last year but my computer could not handle it with all the crap Northern Michigan University had installed. Now however, I am running on a fast network with a nice computer, and waiting on one of those nice raphnet adapters. Ideally, I'd like to get a little bit more serious with ssb64 :) I guess only time will tell.

im not antisocial. i just dont care to meet up with people for the sole purpose of playing a game. i have enough friends/family and a good enough internet connection to fulfill the few gaming needs i have left. i would definitely like to meet some people (matts, own, zhin, holy), but i don't give a **** about the vast majority of the 64 community.

and...weeabo? because of my avatar? lol

Don't listen to rawr he's a bitter washed-up former kailleran ;)
yes, one who was with the community since 2004 and if he didnt quit would be wipin the floor with you despite how much you've improved, but thats "johns". :p Yes I am bitter because the only way I HAD to play the game with people who wont ragequit is through a bottlenecked disconnecty ****ty client that should have been rewritten at its core ages ago.

rawr wasnt my first name nor my last, but i wouldnt expect a new kid like you to know anything, doesnt matter im done with 64 neway

I know rawr wasn't the first name you had, you don't remember me knowing you as Marth? >_______> Maybe you don't know I'm ShootingStar

Not sure why you went on your little rant there when you were just agreeing with what I said lol

When I said "Antisocial weeaboo" I meant "doesn't meet up with people to play smash"

The two have been interchangeable ever since someone called Near that back in the day

no offense man

Well I have the online stuff all working and I got to play with superboomfan yesterday, that was a pretty fun time. I have to wait a week or so to get my controller adapter so I probably wont try playing online again until I get that, I don't want to start getting used to the 360 controller for smash. p2p works really well for me.

I think the only time I ever see rawr/marth post on smashboards is to rage about something online ssb64 related.

And he says he doesn't play anymore anyway lol. Weird.

*sips delicious well-water from Lake Superior, freshly piped to just outside of Escanaba*

I haven't played ssb64 even once since Gamecubes came out, what a shame :c

If you are in esky, Brahmen, I have a group just an hour and a half north in Marquette that you may find it worth the drive to come play. We play melee, too, so choose your proving ground!

I'm indeed in Esky, well, Ford River to be exact. I'd come on up but I don't have a drivers license  Never bothered to get one in years passed as I have no damn job and no real need for one. I got my permit a few weeks ago though, an ill family member requires being driven once in awhile, so hopefully in not too long I'll be fully licensed.

If any of ya fellas are ever down this way in the mean time, hit me up! I'm always down for Smash, though I'm not very versed in competitive play yet. I've been playing for ever but only started with the finer points in the last few months... need some real practice sometime :bee:

Joined this site just because I saw this page haha. Anyways, never would of guessed that people at my college actually played this game seriously. Next time there's a little get together thing, post that ****! Sounds like a blast.
