suggestion: put oregon somewhere in the title. I don't think many people know bend is a city in oregon xD
and maybe jack up the entry fee's to attract more OoSers

well ya know, this is my first tournament I've hosted, ever. I dont expect the world to show up at my door step but I am expecting at least 20 people. However, I do see your point about singles. maybe it should go to $8 or $10.
10 singles 20 doubles should do it.
I'm just sayin, if I were an out of state guy looking at this tournament in a city that, seemingly, is in the middle of butt**** nowhere, a 5 dollar singles fee would lead me to believe this was more of a small, local thing, where out of staters, while in no way discouraged, were not expected.

Even though Im semi well known on the boards, Im a not well known for my smash skills, next tournament will be the one I get a venue or, cause thats when I have money :D

But a lot of that is hype too. like if you wanted some huge *** tourney, you'd have to build it up with lots of down time between announcement and when it actually starts. ya know, so people can clear their schedule.

Oh yea, the next tourney I hold will have a full month or two advance notice and a venue booked blah blah blah, all the good stuff. Im already working on that, but I want people that come to this tourney to be able to tell others I run a good tourney.
Yea hype, like the georgia tourney had TONS of hype, my next one will definetly be for out of state players, this one is more aimed at oregon and just across the borders of umm, bordering states lol.

Theres a lot smashers in town that are going, im talking about the casuals im talking about people who are serious about smash.
Also Im sure you can find a crew of smashers willing to go to a tournament and caravan down, It ALWAYS works that way

We should establish a transportation plan for people to get here, If you can give ride to someone say I, how many you can fit and if you want gas money for the trip.
I myself MAY be able to drive a few hours to pick some people up but thats tentive at the moment so I'll make updates regarding that later.
