Well... MK is broken, so your set for that match XD.

Although if you don't want to use MK, maybe marth or Zelda/shiek since his Fludd wont affect your recovery,

Your rival will always have an advantage over whoever you pick.

However, if I'm reading this right, and they don't know a lot of AT's, then pick either Marth, MK, or Zelda.
Toon Link could be punished due to Mario's cape, so you'd have to play a more offensive game.

Marth is a great character, and is reliable, MK is MK, and Zelda could punish Mario fairly easy, and she has great options when her opponent is off the edge.

I main Marth and second Zelda. Personally, I'd go Marth, but I'm more comfortable with him. Zelda would be fine too, though. The only thing to worry about with Zelda is to make sure you recover straight to the edge, or far enough onto the stage so he can't use FLUDD to push you back off. But from what you've said, this shouldn't be too much of an issue. Go with whoever you feel most comfortable with, though.

Go on youtube and watch some good Marth users play. See what they do in certain situations. There's probably a video thread on the Marth boards, that would be a good place to start.
Best of luck :)

Thanks guys, I think I will go with Zelda. How conveniant that I main Zelda AND Shiek. Maybe I should mindgame him into counterpicking shiek. Like he knows what a counterpick is.

Well if you're using Zelda, I'd first of all suggest regular C-Stick. It's not only the best option for attacking, but it also enables SDI.

As far as things to work on go, You should learn kill moves, what to punish with, how to approach, recoveringwith/aiming Farore's Wind, correct methods of Din's Fire spamming (yes there's a wrong way to do it), and spacing on Lightning Kicks/her Spike.
