Up Tilt Spike? (video)

Title says all. I'm not sure just how useful this is, or if it's just crazy DI or some such, but it appears that I spiked someone with Utilt. This may be usable on stages with stray platforms or some such.

I noticed this before, but never on the initial hit. It seems like the hook tail part has spiking frames against aerial foes ala Link's/Peach's Dtilt

i did that same thing yesterday and it surprised me. if we can learn how it work it could lead to good mind games and such

I think it's just the DI from the opponent (they were aiming downwards when they get hit) that causes the "spike".

Agreed. I can do that against Lucario's utilt for example. You smash DI down/away. You can even tech it.

This is just a bad DI. The Jigglypuff boards were ecstastic when we found a clip saying pound could spike, but it was just a bad DI and when we tried to replicate it like 1000 times, it never worked out. However, it might be able to stage spike like Lucas's U-smash, Marth's U-smash, and Snake's U-tilt.
