Don't focus so much on specific things you like. Good relationships aren't necessarily founded on hobbies. Shared hobbies are just icing on the cake.

My longest adult relationship, initially, we had almost nothing in common. We didn't eat the same foods, we didn't watch the same shows, we didn't play the same games, we didn't listen to the same music. We started dating simply because we were each other's physical type and we loved talking with each other. I learned more about her, she about me, and we starting trying new things with each other to find new things to do with our time besides... *cough*couplestuff*cough*.

That relationship is actually what got me into Kill la Kill and other anime that didn't specifically show on Toonami when I was a preteen. It's what got me to try more vegetarian dishes and learn to cook. We liked each other; what we did with friends and what we did with each other were different, but that was never a problem. She'd even come to my place after a long work day to read her novel I wasn't interested in beside me in bed while I played a Dreamcast game she was equally disinterested in. It's just spending time together.

Being fair to @PolarPanda, here's what she actually said:

She hasn't taken an official stance on either character.

So while things are looking good for Banjo, he's not as rock solid as Erdrick.

Though, to be fair, isn't this the exact same way Erdrick got around to slowly becoming a reality? If I'm gonna be honest, I'm kinda having a bit of deja vu with this.

People began to say Mr. Dragon Quest when rumors started to become more concrete by notable info brokers, then it became a steady increase since. And while before I was hesitant on who this was, if she gives credit to people like Spawn, then now I can't help but listen out.

Not to mention, like I've said before, I'm pretty sure we'd all have this discussion other than the numerous times we've had to talk about Erdrick, Sugiyama or what have you.

When I went to ask out my girlfriend for the first time, she figured out that's what I was trying to do, and it made me chicken out.

It took me a good half an hour or so before I worked up the courage to try again.

Don't focus on her attractiveness if you want to make a genuine connection, because a lot of guys probably give her disingenuous "you're cute" compliments already. Just try to talk to her like a normal human being without focusing on the fact that she's physically attractive. You're learning about her in a way that isn't just skin-deep. That's important to even knowing if it'll work.

I know this topic is late but like tbh this is kind of disingenuous. Like, you only want to talk to an attractive person BECAUSE you're attracted to them. You usually don't know anything about them personally if they're a stranger. I think approaching someone and saying that you think they're pretty is honest and at the very least genuine. It's worked when I did it, however that being said I don't do it often, especially not when the person I see looks uncomfortable being in a social situation already.

Honestly I just don't like to "strategize" how I approach someone because it feels kind of weird. I just go up and say the most honest thing I can to them without making them uncomfortable.

I think PolarPanda also mentioned Rare Replay on Switch (might've just been a rumor though) so I'm feelin' pretty optimistic about Banjo.

I'm also not even sure if it matters what Microsoft would want; I mean, maybe it would to an extent, but if Sakurai and Nintendo want Banjo-Kazooie in Smash then they're gonna get them in Smash; plus, Phil Spencer's comments on B-K in Smash make it seem like MS would be willing to cooperate, anyway.
