lol im pretty far done with mine, but like I said, I'd LOVE to help you.
Its supposed to be Flash, right? I can help with spriting, music, Stage design, movesets, character design, storyboard (story mode?), plot, etc., but MY smash was made on a program other than flash, so idk flash.

Double posting is discouraged, but triple posting is uber discouraged. Come on, the EDIT button is there for a reason.

Nah, I've been told C++ is the way to go, but if I can't use that I'll go out and struggle with Game Maker.

For the love of god don't use anything but a full, robust programming language.

C++ is the most powerful, but with a lackluster knowledge of OOP, you might run into issues.

I am working on an fps using eye tracking technology, and would love to trade some time. I'll work on yours if you work on mine.

I have 3 years of game programming experience using C++, Java, Python, and Ruby.

still need programmers?

Musicians are needed yes. It'll be like Brawl so pick a song and mix it.

Behemoth: Yeah, I need programmers, but I don't see how I'd be able to help you. I lack any real programming experience and it seems like your game requires 3D models where as I make sprites, what kind of a trade are you interested in?

Eh, that's cool if you can't, I understand, I will just have to split my time.

So are there any other programmers? We would need at least 3 with experience. Oh, and the engine you should use is called the Ihrlicht (might not be spelling it right) engine, which utilizes the PhysX engine (far superior to Havok).

Lets try to collect more programmers.

And I will need to see a game design document (google it), character list, things like that.

That is, if you would like me to help. Not trying to sound haughty or anything, but I've worked on projects that didn't start out right and well-planned, and they inevitably fail (just as 70% of game projects do.)

^ There was a person a page or two back who said he had a couple years of C++ experience, I sent him a PM, you can too if you want. As for character list, I'm hoping to discuss that amongst anybody I currently have on-board by Saturday, as for the other stuff, I'll try to get it to you ASAP.

Are any stages known to base a song around, or should I just pick any song from Nintendo or otherwise? I'm kind of a fan of the Mystic Cave from Sonic 2, so I may work on that.

I've been composing music, electronic or otherwise, for about 3 years now. Tell me what stages you're doing, i'll make the songs.

If any more music contributions are needed outside of these boards I very much recommend posting on the OC Remix boards; however, I wouldn't bother with it till you have some form of playable demo or video of in game action.

Though C++ would be the best way to go, if you can't get any programmers, i can use MMF2...
Otherwise I don't think I could be much of a help other than suggesting characters (but I'm sure you're going to have that taken care of)
Though I can use Game Maker too if you're going in that direction (you'd probably find a lot more people then)

Here's a small list of some of the stages (I forgot to mention not all BG Music needs to be from that game, since Sonic is in, Mystic Cave would fit Fountain of Dreams maybe? I never heard it.)

Doom Ship from Super Mario Bros. 3
Star City - Diddy Kong Racing
Dolphin Park - WaveRace: Blue Storm
Angel Island - Sonic the Hedgehog 3(?)
Luigi's Mansion - Luigi's Mansion
Nookingtons - Animal Crossing
Duck Pond - Duck Hunt
Baby Bowser's Play Room - Yoshi's Island
Clu Clu Land - Clu Clu Land
Safari Zone - Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow

Ten stages for those of you who needed reference.

I've got this ska idea going for the Mystic Cave, but since you've never heard it yet, here's a video of the original: http://youtube.com/watch?v=d3ta9UQwMfI

I really like the idea of a Safari Zone stage, by the way, it would be a fun place to battle in. What do you have already in regards to music?

Also, just for validity's sake, I've been writing music as a hobby over the past few years and have been studying music in hopes of attaining a professional career over the past 8 years (wow, has it really been that long?) including both university and grade school.

I decided to try spriting Lyn from FE... what do you guys think? :-\

Behemoth you don't mind if I send Programmers your way do ya? You're much more knowledgable in the field then I am and could probably choose the better applicants.

I am VERY interested in doing music for this. I have some fantastic ideas for some covers that I was just working on in my free time.
I really like Hammond Organ and I recently purchased an M-3, so I've been meaning to record my versions of Gerudo Valley, Dr. Wily's Theme-Megaman 2, and Boss Battle-Sonic 2 with Hammond, guitar, drums, and bass (with myself playing all four ^_^), there is also trumpet in Gerudo Valley (maybe).
As soon as I manage to throw a 1/4 adapter onto my Hammond, I'll start recording and I'll share them and see if you like them. So far, Gerudo Valley is the best one, just FYI. I'm also willing to help with anything I can, including spriting, designing, layouts, storyboards, etc... but I do not have any programming experience.

BTW, yes, I did register so I could reply. I usually just kinda idle in here, but this drove me to finally register. ;-)

^ I'm interested, especially in that Sonic 2 Boss Battle, as that's one of my favorite songs from the series.

That one is pretty good too. It opens with a cathedral-esque introduction, then jumps right into the song. I'm thinking maybe a double bass drum, almost power metal with HUGE pipe organ sound. And, of course, lots of distortion guitar. It could be epic, but I'm not so good at the actual recording, so the drums may be synthesized (the bass, organ, and guitar will be played by me).

EDIT:Maybe a synthesized choir, now that I think about it.

Based on UnderPressure's comments, are you wanting electronic recordings of these (kind of like MIDI files, I suppose), live instrument recordings, or either?

I would assume he would want real recordings when necessary, but if a level calls for MIDI (like Super Flat Zone) then he would want MIDI's.

Hm; I figure as long as it's somewhat consistent throughout, it should be okay. I suppose once I get my writing done I should start talking to some of my friends about getting a session together, though. TamaSKAtchi will resurface from the depths!

I'd be willing to be part of the creative team. I'm not much of an artist or a programmer (although I plan on learning the latter) but I would love to be part of the creative development when I can.
Just PM me when things start to pull together to the point where creative input is needed.

Music is all up to you guys, I want whatever you think sounds best.

Okay, two questions: Purple Overalls Wario or WarioWare Wario? Which costume is most liked?

Also, I want to know what characters you guys wanna see.

Would alternate costumes, instead of alternate costumes be possible? Like the two Warios, different Samus' (Sami?), different versions of Link (WW, TP, OoT, Adult), etc..

I personally like purple overalls Wario, but I think more people like WarioWare.

As for characters, that would be the kind of thing that you would need to get a group of people together to brainstorm. As I said, I would like to be part of the creative team, and I actually have a few movesets for characters on my desktop at home (where I am not right now, but i can get them).
Perhaps we could get a few people together and discuss a roster tonight? If we just start posting them here it won't do too good. I suggest the people that want to be part of the creative team should try to get together on AIM, if that's okay with the OP.

I don't know if I want to get in on the AIM conversation (just a whole... not giving away my AIM on message boards deal), but if you go with alternate costumes, I think a Booster costume would suit Wario quite well.
