So in this tournament alone, Esam beats Salem, Void x2, Captain Zack, and Nairo. Huge improvement from losing to Insert Mario Main here

I'm livid at how bad ESAM played game 3 there

atrocious

He had a fantastic run though, definitely making HUGE waves. Hopefully not a one-hit-wonder.

I know it sounds disrespectful, but literally every set in this top 8 today not including Zero was super fun to watch.

Of course, that's how ZeRo plays.

It ends up not being an intense back and forth. His playstyle is a 2010 era Barcelona- just suffocate the opposition, don't give them any room to operate, all while slowing the tempo down to exactly your pace.

It's awesome in action but it might not be exciting.

That's funny - I love watching ZeRo. His mastery of neutral is helpful to watch as a case study, too.

My main issue is with everyone else not on his level. I don't think it's boring because of ZeRo - some matches are boring just because no one can step to him. Of course, when he just stomps, it can be fun to watch too. The inbetween is iffy.

EDIT: On the other hand, maybe ZeRo will force people to ascend again. Last time he went on his streak, he made everyone want to do better. I like seeing him win, but I like seeing him win in close matches even better.

Why's everyone ******** about ZeRo? If anything he's good for the scene, it means everyone else needs to improve to reach his level.

Lol Abandango vs ZeRo on DL64 looking like every ICies match on BF back in the Brawl days with the platform camping.

This is how people responded when people criticized Barcelona's play as well lol.

What will probably happen is people will simply wait for ZeRo to make a mistake and then try to punish him hard for it instead of aiming to go blow for blow in neutral.

I think it's more so the fact that Zero demonstrates how oppressive Diddy Kong. The character has so much. No matter how many "counters" people say he has Diddy mains come up with another option. He's ridiculous. It's the best player playing the best character. I don't hate Zero at all, props to him for being so good, but I feel optimal Diddy is so oppressive it takes the fun out of playing the game and watching it.

ZeRo the GAWDDD

Now that was good play. It is really funny that he tries all of these characters, and MK was the one all along.

Also, I agree with ARISTOS ARISTOS - and that's why it seems like characters with hard punishes do well against ZeRo, while more neutral focused characters don't. His DIddy beats Sheik for days. But it's the Zero Suits, Lucarios, and MKs of the world that seem to be more dangerous.

EDIT: Pfft, ZeRo shows how oppressive any character is. I think it's way more best player than best character. Mr. R won't stand still for 10 seconds with the lead. ZeRo would. I think any character he plays within maybe top 5 would show that same dominance, personally.

Keep in mind that ZeRo was the only Diddy to make top 8. Everyone else faltered below top 16.

Diddy's one of the best characters but all this shows is how good ZeRo the player is.

Abadango and Esam played great this tournament, and Zero takes another one. He's been pretty dominant lately, but not as dominant as he was a year ago. Interested to see if he can win his own Saga

ZeRo played like this with Sheik as well (and was even more oppressive with it).

It's purely down to how ZeRo plays the game.
