Wow, you **** that ICs so badly that it looks like Sheik > IC. Impressive.

The biggest thing I learned -- or, rather, had emphasized -- there was you never attacked when you had the downside of the attack possibly failing and a grab resulting. This is best shown at 2:53. After you throw the needles, you jump a fair, fast fall a bit, and feint and jump up to the safety of the platform. Most [bad] Sheiks would go down with a fair anyway against the shielding Icies and risk their whole stock on a grab, even though they intellectually know better. That's why you ****.

I fight Fox much more defensively, rarely approaching him with the intent to actually attack. I usually approach to make him do something, and respond to whatever he does. I also don't dsmash nearly as much as you do; where you dsmash to tech chase or to follow up, I usually look to get in grabs that lead to combos. My kills usually come from dash attacks that lead to tilt to fair ****, but obviously your strategy was quite effective, so I'll steal some of it.

Every time I watch your Sheik I'm like ****, my Sheik needs to get up to speed -- literally. You're ****ing fast. You show me how badly Sheik ***** platforms with her disgusting wavelanding to rapid fire aerial attacks, a strategy that has helped me get a lot better recently against Falcos.

Red Sheik ***** silver Sheik though. See the light.

Yeah when you fight Chu a couple times a week, icies don't tend to be too much of a problem and learning to be patient becomes standard. Blues is mad good though, he's taken sets off of a lot of ranked players around here.

As far as playing more defensive vs. fox, I used to be that way. And then InfernoOmni/Kaiser came along. Cant't play defensive at all against those fox's or else you're going to eat 50%+ in lasers a match, at least. I've had to adopt a more aggresive style therefore against fox, and part of that is Dsmashing a lot more than usual (drephen stylez).

Yeah my Sheik can be pretty fast, i duno, it's just more fun that way.

My color Sheik is the best, if you think different, go play marth.

when u WD towards them, and then wavedash away, and then dash towards them and grab. are u usually using a JC grab, or a dash attack grab?

JC grab, i don't like to dash attack grab because if you miss that the lag is so disgusting.

ive been practicing that edgehogging u did against IC's. when u let go of the edge, teleported up, and then down the the edge, but i cant get it. any suggestions?i always end up reappearing under the ledge, falling to my death.

you are crazy at platform dashing

brwnhawaiin, make sure u go straight up and down. i used to do that too, and im not even quite sure exactly what fixed it, but im pretty sure you just have to make sure you dont DI right or left.

That stall is actually one of the few moves that most sheiks cant do well right away. It takes ALOT of time, Im still working on it even.

Plairnkk, i´m starting to love your shiek ;)
it looks stylish how you play, i cant abuse wavedashing as you do (and many more things O.o)
it just looks awesome, and ***** too ;)

to do the stall (@brwnhawaiin) it sounds to me, like you hold down on the controllstick.
you have to let go before you pass the ledge (so pretty much after the explosion)
my problem with infinite stalling is that i cant do it quite fast enough.... man, i have so much catch up... why didnt i sart playing competitevly earlier :(

Wow. I love your Sheik. Simply amazing. I'm working on getting it the same as you. Awesome stuff. The only thing I saw that I would have done differently was on your Fox vid, at 1:09ish. I would have jumped onto the edge and ledgehopped a bair. But thats it. Good stuff.

edit: just one more thing in your IC video. at 1:50, i probably would have bair'd him back out. but thats it. really good otherwise.

Hey, I was just wondering, at 0:40 of the Fox vic, when you edge-hog, but first you jump off the platform, facing away from the level, then in mid-air you turn around? How do you do that? Sorry if this is a bad quesiton, but i've only been playing for like 2 weeks, hoping to get a lot better.

Plairnkk: good sheik, liked the matches. however, I think it's rather strange that the ICs player got 3 stocked. He needs sheik practice...

on another note, how do you pronounce your name? its been bothering me recently...

1st off Hiroshi: No johns about your speed son. I just hate when people are like "I can do what you do when I'm playing my best. However, my videos won't show it, but I have johns to cover that."

Anyway, on to the business at hand.

Compliments
Plank, your Sheik is crazy fast. We make similar decisions, but you are way better and faster at those decisions. Your platform work was quite impressive. I try to do that, but most of the time I don't get it.

Criticisms
Against the IC you dsmashed too much. Good IC players can really punish that dsmash lag, especially if they shield it. A good alternative would be dtilt. It's way faster and often stabs under their shield. I do love the dsmash against IC though because it seperates them so well.
Against the Fox you had some poor edgeguarding a few times. It seemed like y'all play each other often because you were crouched waiting for him to firefox low when he showed no signs of doing so. However, he did firefox low into your dsmash a little later. Perhaps that's a habit of his.

Other than those two things your play was pretty flawless. You mixed your edgegame well. You mindgamed effectively. You used platforms incredibly. You moved fluidly. You pretty much ***** all around.

Side Note
Are you going to INNV? If so do you want to play some friendlies with me? Read: teach me how to play my main please.

yessir im going to inn :) and im excited to meet you since we've talked on here for ages.

Yea -- i guess dsmash isnt the most effective, but its not a shocker he got 3 stocked. I play vs chu all the time and can beat him probably about 1/4 of the time (not a lot, but ****, its chu) with platform camping.

And yea, vs fox, i was ****ing up edgeguards. Oh well, stuff happens, na'am sayin? :p

Playing with Chu must be awesome. I've got a question for you though:

Is it possible to chainthrow Popo/Nana individually. I was playing with a friend the other day, and I killed his Nana with touching Popo. Then I chainthrew Popo for a little bit. Is that something you can consistently do or is it more like the Marth "chaingrab"? It felt really good to chainthrow an IC though.

EDIT: Don't get too excited, I'm not anything spectacular, but we can definitely hang out and play some.

I'll answer your question:

It's called a "reverse aerial B". It can be performed with any character. What you do is jump facing one direction, then tap the control stick in the opposite direction, and then press B. Make sure not to hold the control stick or you'll do a sideB.

With Sheik, you can press and hold B to charge your needles. Also, once you start charging them you can press L/R to store them. This is how it's done in the video. So, here's what you do:

Jump off stage->tap control stick back towards stage->press and hold B->press R->release B->grab ledge

You can do it as fast as you want to. I think the fastest possible from start to finish is ~6 frames. Three to jump, 1 to turn around, 1 to charge, 1 to store, and a few to grab the ledge.

Plairnkk I can't describe how happy I am that you posted a video of your sheik against the Icers.
I never get to fight Icer were I live all we have here is Defensive Marths and poor examples of foxes among with a bunch of non serious players…So tournament Icers would always beat the crap out of me. Now though I think I might be able to think (steal) of some strategies and even the battlefield a bit.

Oh and good job three stocking Blue he's really good. I would recommend not dieing though but hey no one perfect. >.<
