Modern Family has been surprisingly funny. its got that awkward family humor (like arrested) plus funny documentary style interviews (the office).

Rescue Me, starring Dennis Leary, is the best show that no one has seen. it follows a firehouse in new york. its pretty much the ultimate man show. funny as hell, great acting and chemistry, the characters are very easy to fall in love with, also dramatic/emotional (but not too much), actually has good character development...im not doing it justice. just check it out.

Modern Family is enjoyable, but it really feels like the writers were just huge fans of AD and the Office and decided to make a TV show based on both.

Rescue me started out amazing but started to go down hill. I didn't watch the last season.

rescue me's main story (read: anything involving sheila/janet) is far too annoying now, and it picks up and drops the secondary stories far too inconsistently

p.s. i'm not trying to please you with my taste or anything (that sounds weird), i just think it sucked

id be interested to hear more

kind of
there's not a lot to say

it's jsut a matter of taste, and to me cartoons are limited, rarely get me thinking outside of my comfort zone and as a result bore me more times than not

this goes from simpsons to south park to futurama to almost all of the critically acclaimed cartoons you can think of. even the ones i like (home movies, family guy circa first three seasons) i only like because they do the cookie-cutter cartoon stuff very well.

Dexter has been consistantly good throughout the whole thing, which I like. It has a few ups and down but overall really good quality show.

Weed's storyline had gotten all crazy, but I think its humor has improved, which is really wierd to me. Seasons 3 and 4 were meh, but I think 5 was really good overall. Really funny. Also Weeds has amazing season finales.

this season of dexter has really been awesome

season 3 slipped big time, but seaso n4 has proven the writers still have the magic. if season 4 finishes strongly, it's on the short list for top tv shows of all-time

speaking of amazing tv shows, how do you like the wire so far hyuga?

i have not met anyone who has seen it who agrees it's anything less than the best show, and maybe the best form of passive entertainment (tvs + movies) in history

I do think season 3 was a little wierd with the side stories, but the main story doesnt disappoint.

Unfortunately the more Dexter goes on the more I hate everything about Debra

especially her dialogue. In a lot of parts of season 3 it didnt even seem like the writers were trying

dexter is incredible; i haven't watched any of s4 yet though since i like to watch them all at once

weeds has gotten terrible; it's barely about anything anymore, and i just end up sitting around hoping doug and andy get some screen time and cheap laughs since the storyline itself is so off from what made it fun at the start

I stopped watching House when I realized that I could tell whether a diagnosis was accurate or not by looking at the clock, which didn't take long.

I don't watch much TV anymore. If I'm awake at 2am for some reason, I'll watch X-Files, but that's about it.

Do yourself a favor and watch The Wire. Please.

Just watch the first season. Guarantee you'll be hooked by the fifth episode.

Glee was very funny for the first 3 episodes or so, and then turned into HSM TV. its not really funny anymore, just a **** load of crazy ridiculous melodrama. although i do love music, and i like how theyve arranged a lot of their songs.

ive heard good things about the wire too so i borrowed season one havent seen it yet gimme a couple days for my assessment

i havent seen anything past season two of rescue me yet. your opinions of how its progressed makes me sad. but im still going to watch.

and as far as modern family goes, yes the show is very obviously office + arrested, but its still really funny.

30 rock is pretty funny but i feel like it's kind of 'settled' for being 'formulaic' (tracy says wacky things, kenneth is simple, jenna is upset about something ridiculous, etc). I mean, every show can be broken down that way, but I feel like there's very little character development. It still makes me laugh every week, but I don't know if I could ever call it a 'great' show.

Ya that Aeon Flux. I thought it was a decent Sci-fi movie even if it deviated from the original story of the show.

i'll agree that it's better now than season 3 or 4, but if you think that was good character development then that means that you need to see a lot more good tv shows, you ******* *****
