TourneyPlay! Washington Regional Tournament Feat DSF t0mmy Weruop Chip Jem & More!!

Hey everyone - this last week Washington held a regional tournament on the same day as CoT4 in an effort to somewhat test our readiness for hosting a major tournament - the tournament went EXTREMELY well - the only problems we had were with our streaming technology which unfortunately was lost at this event.

Apart from the few technological problems early on this was likely the finest tournament Washington has seen in all the years I have been smashing! With the attendance reaching around 60 players from Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Canada, and California the total dollars in prizes reached a stunning $1700 - almost NO tournament will pay out even close to that proportionally to the number of players. Keep in mind that this was held the same weekend as CoT4 so our numbers weren't expected to be extremely high.

This Particular TourneyPlay event had 5 tournaments - Brawl Singles/Doubles, Melee Singles/Doubles, and an admittedly smaller Mario Kart Wii tournament. If you happen to be sick of tournaments that aren't hosted well and are riddled with delays consider this - we managed to finish ALL FIVE of those events THE FIRST DAY of the tournament. The second day when we came was basically the largest and most entertaining smashfest I have ever been to in my life.

This was the start of a franchise - these events will be riddled throughout the year - with our next major coming up being TourneyPlay 2 in mid/late June. I highly recommend you message one of the hosts - me or Gameclucks - so that we can talk about making this one into a major national event. I personally have recently began reaching out to recruit from areas in the east coast, midwest, east and west canada, all along the west coast and everywhere in between. The interest seems to be fairly high for an actual well hosted tournament recently - and we would LOVE to see YOU at the next TourneyPlay Major!

In any case - due to our technology crapping out on us in the early moments of the pre-tournament (a problem that will NOT repeat at the following event) we lost our live streaming and our commentary ability - but this will not stop us from putting up all of the AMAZING matches from the event.
