tournament at best buy

if there is indeed a playable smash at best buy, it allows multiplayer, and of course I am predicting mad melee and brawl players coming to the location that I am going to. Then we should run like an 8 man bracket with whomever shows up and pass it off as everyone taking turns playing each other. It would be good footage if you bring a camera, and best of all it would be the first time anyone picked up the game, so no time to practice or nothing.

Well, most skill can can be brought over to the new game. If the game play is completely revamped, then yes there will be no time to practice the new mechanics but to use your instincts.

Also, I'm pretty sure it won't be playable...there will either be a trailer or screenshots at E3. But if this were to happen, and a tournament would happen at my Best Buy...I'D WRECK THEM ALL! (Or at least try to, and also depends if the mechanics are same/similar to Brawl, which is what I expect. ^_^)

Development on Smash 4 began on February 2012. By Christmas is just an insane idea even with Namco Bandai helping (especially since we are getting TWO games compared to one).

that's almost 2 years.... it's entirely possible. 21 months would definitely be enough time, compared to melee and even brawl, which had a rough start.

I still predict next year, albeit early next year. The games will be functionally similar enough that there would be no need to wait until NEXT year's holiday.

I can just imagine yall storming in there spreading out full reconnaissance searching for the smash bros demo console. Tackling small children at the other demo stations by mistake. Then when you finally find it you form a ring around the station preventing anyone else from playing and doing that dumb winner stays rule so the same kid (presumably the head behind this whole operation) hogs the controller all day. But hey, thanks for recording footage, wait who was recording?

Two things
1)It's Best Buy's demo. You should probably get their condolences before setting up shop in their store.
2)Other people may want to play. You can't hog the kiosk to do 1v1s all day.

Melee came out two years after SSB it can easily come out by this Christmas.

The work schedule for melee though was similar to that of a sweatshop to get the game out for the gamecube's release, he didn't have two years, he had roughly one year. it was so stressful that sakurai waited so long to start working on brawl.

Doesn't mean it will. Release date and development cycle are not exactly the same thing. At this point, the only reason the 2014 announcement would be inaccurate is if they decide to delay it. 2013 is not happening.
