Tunnel vision is visiting a site where people share information about a game and complaining about too much information from a game.nevermind. it's not worth explaining anything to those with tunnel vision
I'm very good at seeing things from another person's perspective. However, I have a difficult time seeing things from the perspective of someone with a peanut allergy who just ran into a Planters (tm) factory. You guys are f ucking d ouchebags. I don't understand why you have such a problem with people who like surprises. You don't even try to see things from another person's perspective for a second. That'll do you well in life.
Seriously... don't take this the wrong way, but here is a few words of wisdom; You guys are f ucking d ouchebags. I don't understand why you have such a problem with people who like surprises. You don't even try to see things from another person's perspective for a second. That'll do you well in life.
Did you read any of my posts? All of your points are addressed in them. If you had read them, there would not have been a need for your post.Seriously... don't take this the wrong way, but here is a few words of wisdom;
What to do if you like surprises on SSBB: Just dig your head inside of a hole (not literally....), and don't come out until December 3rd. You will be guaranteed surprises by the truck load.
What NOT to do if you like surprises on SSBB: Do NOT go read the official website which has Daily Updates of SSBB content, both NEW, OLD, and REMADE. Do NOT go to fan based forums which are directly talking about SSBB either. These are both excellent sources of News, Rumors, Gossip, and other Information, and are guaranteed to give you LESS Surprises by December 3rd.
And you most certainly should not complain that you are being spoiled because you have absolutely no will-power to avert your eyes from smashbros.com and smashboards.com. It is not as if someone came to you, pointed a gun at your head, stretched your eye lids with clamps, and made you view these websites. The only one here to blame is yourself. You reap what you sew.
I agree whole-heartedly with you, so since you're not saying anything, I'll at least share my own feelings.nevermind. it's not worth explaining anything to those with tunnel vision
(not the best analogy but here goes) Alot of people like pizza; Some like pepperoni and some like deluxe, but both still like pizza. The point is not everyone has to like smash bros for the same reason. To some surprise are really important. But, everything you said was 100% true...,,,for yourself and people like you who don't care for surprises. Thats ok though because your just the pepperoni and mushroom type. Surprises don't go on your pizza. Is that really what you people look forward to? You want to unlock characters and be surprised at who they are? I have not unlocked a character in over five years, but I like the game way more now than I ever did. Unlocking characters is a one-time thrill that does nothing to increase the longevity of the game. The only conclusion I can derive at this point is that you are extremely casual smashers. As for those of you still upset at all the spoilers, you can believe whatever you want about how the forums should be. The fact remains: everyone (obviously excluding those who have made themselves known in this thread) will stay on the forefront of Brawl news, spew them out here, and analyze them to no end. If something spoils the game for you, you have no one to blame but yourself.
SSBB is not a deep single-player campaign with a storyline that can be experienced only once. It is a fighting game! There really is nothing being "spoiled" at all. I'll be honest: with Melee, I had the game guide sitting right there showing me all the available characters/stages and how to unlock them. Under normal circumstances, I never use a player guide the first time through, but seeing as how this is a competitive fighter, I have minimal interest in saying, "Ooooh, wow, look at this neat new character I unlocked!"
Yes. It's not all I look forward too, obviously. But it's part of what I love about it. I actually find it very odd that you don't. Touching back on my Harry Potter reference, it'd be like looking up all the characters who die in the last book before you read it. Sure, you can read it and enjoy yourself, but those moments where those characters go will be lost on you. For me, seeing all the secret characters before smash kills some of the excitement from unlocking new characters. I can still use them and have fun with them, but the act of getting them is terribly diluted. Is that really what you people look forward to? You want to unlock characters and be surprised at who they are?
Fair enough. I don't. It's still fantastic, it was just even more fantastic when I had things to work for.I have not unlocked a character in over five years, but I like the game way more now than I ever did.
Who said anything about increasing longevity? I'll be playing Brawl for years regardless, I'm sure. That's not the point. It's more fun when I don't know EVERYTHING. Besides, that one-time thrill is still a thirll. It's worth looking forward to.Unlocking characters is a one-time thrill that does nothing to increase the longevity of the game.
I suppose I would consider myself a casual smasher; I don't go to tournaments. But "extremely casual" is a bit overboard. I still play the game, 6 years after it came out. And I still love it. I just also love the thrill of the unknown. The only conclusion I can derive at this point is that you are extremely casual smashers.
I don't really care about the forums specifically. I know that EVERYTHING that is mentioned on the Dojo will be discussed here—that is, afterall, the point. My main concern is that I just don't get why Sakurai and his teammates would reveal these kinds of things. I can see they're going to, and believe me, if I see one or two more secret character updates, I'm bolting. I just don't see the point. Why not leave any mystery at all?As for those of you still upset at all the spoilers, you can believe whatever you want about how the forums should be. The fact remains: everyone (obviously excluding those who have made themselves known in this thread) will stay on the forefront of Brawl news, spew them out here, and analyze them to no end. If something spoils the game for you, you have no one to blame but yourself.
No one said it was.SSBB is not a deep single-player campaign with a storyline that can be experienced only once.
No one said it wasn't.It is a fighting game!
That's your opinion, and I very much disagree with it.There really is nothing being "spoiled" at all.
That's your prerogative. And if you want to, you should be able to do that.I'll be honest: with Melee, I had the game guide sitting right there showing me all the available characters/stages and how to unlock them. Under normal circumstances, I never use a player guide the first time through, but seeing as how this is a competitive fighter, I have minimal interest in saying, "Ooooh, wow, look at this neat new character I unlocked!"
That is such an awesome feeling.I gotta admit, there's nothing like hearing the siren and seeing a silhouette and thinking "IS THAT WHO I THINK IT IS?!" only to crap yourself when the character is revealed in the following match.
Well BUZZ is adding insight, along with others. Why can't you?...Um, this is the topic YOU created. This is the topic of the thread YOU created. Basically, no forum is going to stop discussing large updates because of the concerns of people like you. Instead of telling us to make conversation outside the obvious, try making threads without the answers to your topics being obvious.
I'm not into that insight jazz. I answer the question and move on, unless the circumstances are different.
Then don't browse the Dojo or the forums, you ignorant little piece of ****. You already answered your own question, and yet you continue to fill your own topic with meaningless posts. That is such an awesome feeling.
@Nothing Rhymes With Circus: So you feel the same way the I first did when creating this thread? That you don't like the BIG character spoilers? Btw, do you listen to the SHOW ME YOUR NEWS podcast?
AND AT EVERYONE ELSE: Stop posting worthless spam saying "If you don't like spoilers, don't go to The Dojo or forums" . If you're going to post here, atleast bring something else to the table besides the obvious.
So it comes down to what you want, and what you care about. Sakurai can't satisfy everyone, so take what you get.Wow QFT my friend. That's exactly how I feel.
I didn't mind Wario and Snake being confirmed (I've never played MGS so I don't really care, and I knew Wario was in) , but IMO he should keep 99% of the new characters secret. I don't mind Metaknight and Pit either, but Sakurai should've stopped there.
BTW you're dumb. Talk about people not getting the point. Maybe you should see it from our perspective. That perspective being the obligation to try to talk sense into people who have zero reading comprehension. You guys are f ucking d ouchebags. I don't understand why you have such a problem with people who like surprises. You don't even try to see things from another person's perspective for a second. That'll do you well in life.
