Tips to starting a crew?

So, my friend and I are trying to start an after school club for Brawl, and we figured that if it works out, then we could make a crew too.

So, what do you need to do. Should we discuss advanced techniques and the tiers and character match-ups? Is there anything else I need to know?

I want to learn from someone with experience (cause I guarantee at least one of you has made a crew).
