Lucas is tough, as are all the other short characters in the game. He's not a lost cause though, unlike characters like Olimar - I think it's a doable matchup, you kinda have to play a lil more carefully. For some ****ed up reason, a little blond boy's brainwaves outprioritize physical kicks.

These matches are a little old, but I hope theyre of some use. Beats me trying to explain it in words, anyways. :)

watch out for "HADOUKEN!!" hate that attack. what i try and do is airdodge approach or roll.. but airdodge is better. one uve got him in the air its best u try and keep him there because once again "HADOUKEN!!" is really really annoying.

Usmash is brutal. When I play him I pretty much act like I'm playing a short Zelda to be honest. Watch the disjointed hitboxes, watch the range, try and edgeguard as soon as possible so their UpB doesn't get off in time. If you think you're going to be too slow to get them in time then just camp on the stage and try and punish the end of the recovery. I find that jumping to escape PK Fire (once in it) is the best option because it gets you out of Lucas' Smash range. Shielding it is hit or miss (once in it), and if you miss it's a big miss. Fsmash is fairly easy to perfect shield, and when you do get it you can follow up with a grab, Ftilt (if you're quick), UpB, AAA combo, or Running A. Bair isn't that great against him in the air since his sweetspots out-prioritize it and his other ones have a slight edge in reach. Really Uair is your best option unless you're edgeguarding. If you're going to full or short hop an aerial, Bair is a decent option once again but like I said I wouldn't advise it in aerial combat. Try not to get grabbed. Use Falcon Kick.

Here should be your strategy for beating Lucas.

1) Play Marth
2) Grab and fist of fury that motherf'r.
3) Regrab when he escapes.
4) Repeat steps 3 and 4 until about 200% damage
5) Fsmash
6) Watch as no one plays Lucas ever again.

Powershield (parry) the pk fires (hadoukens). Youll take alot of hits at first but getting better at it is important. KeyKid has some good Falcon advice but otherwise you can always use Marth.

Reaver does have a point. No sense in worrying about a character no one will ever play competitively as. lol
