I'm more interested in naginatas over lances.

Most of my spear users are meant to survive multiple attacks during an enemy phase. If you get just a few more points of Def (assuming the def bonus increases with quality), that means if you sustain four attacks (doable on a Wyvern Rider if they're not Fighters), that's like 4-8 damage you're not taking. Fire Emblem has seen some murderous spear-users, but there's also some slow folks like the Wyvern or Knight who are just trying to soften the enemy up anyway.

Katanas are pretty boring as a choice in that, if you can double the enemy, you should. Likewise, unless it's the meatiest of Mercenaries, you prooooooooooobably don't want the enemy doubling your sword-wielder, either. As for which is better overall, I'd say the katana, but when you have access to both the right choice will probably be more obvious.

Since, you know, your Samurai or whatever will probably have such an astronomical Speed advantage over an Archer or whatever that the Speed bonus of the katana is redundant.
Walrus riders when.

Ironically enough, Dark Samus is a being of light, which is why the Annihilator Beam is effective in damaging her during Echoes.

Of course I know.

If I see an opportunity to reference something, I do. :cheep:
Actually, the Annihilator Beam contains both light and dark properties, which enable it to be used against both light and dark world enemies and still cause significant damage. Dark Samus isn't a being of light, it's just that the Annihilator works against any target. Though that doesn't explain why it has homing shots or can activate sonic-based devices.

Nothing man-made could ever compare to the Power Suit. Hell, even the pirates tried to replicate some of its functions, but we all know how that ended......

The lesson here is this: Ancient races are technologically superior to us modern day techies by leaps and bounds.
I don't know, the Iron Man armour is pretty tank. Also, I don't how that pirates trying to replicate the power suit story ends. Not a Metroid fan.

Amiibos are the closest thing we'll get to real life Pokemon. Think about it; little creatures that come to live when acted upon an outside trainer. They level up by battling others whether they are wild or other trained characters. They are tradeable and collectable, and the ones that you really want are often very hard to come by.

I'm on a roll tonight, fellas!

the star that falls is the greatest star because it dares to move

i wish i could be more like that star

to will the will to live and dare to dream a fleeting dream

never once caring or knowing if this will be the end

or just another wondrous possibility for a new beginning

i will sit now and dwell on the fate of that one glorious star

and wonder if i too could ever be so grotesquely magnanimous

Speaking of amiibos...

They should make amiibos of awesome players. Like a @Nairo and @ Raziek Raziek amiibo. When scanned into Smash bros, they start off at level 50, and can only be beaten by a player amiibo of a higher caliber. And no character amiibo can beat them.

In the realm of fiction plenty of things that are 'man made' easily trump the Power Suit. The Demonica Suit from Shin Megami Tensei Strange Journey gives its wearer multiversal capabilities, and it is by all means 'man made'.

That just sounds like I'd be playing the real thing. :p

Would they retain the boosted stats of maxed out amiibos? Do they have that almost perfect reaction time since they read and react to your inputs? If so there's already enough incentive to not fight them. I'd rather get disrespected by my own Pika amiibo than go through that kind of butt whooping.

Wintropy amiibo.

When scanned, it rubs up against your character's legs in expectation of food and affection, finally finishing you off with a snarky comment that instantly KO's you and makes every instance of text in the game blue until you defeat it.

Is there any major spoilers?
There isn't anything plot-related in this particular log itself, just the Space Pirates detailing a bit of their history with Samus.

One of the greatest aspects of the Power Suit is its ability to interface with multiple types of technology, known or unknown. Theoretically, if there is a race that has created such technology, the Power Suit would be able to integrate it into its system.

Am I the only one who thinks that despite the two being mother-and-son, Mikoto looks about at least as young as Ryouma, if not younger?

I mean think about it: the poor woman's been widowed by an enemy nation, then lost a child to said nation after her husband was killed, had to rule a sovereign nation by herself while facing threats from Nohr (and theoretical 'war hawks' within her nation), and was left behind with four remaining children while knowing that Kamui was being potentially "brainwashed" by her enemies (or at least as far as she knew).

You would think that from all the stress of ruling and hardships that she was forced to endure, that she would looked rather aged for having suffered for so long. But nope! She looks like she could pass off as one of Kamui's siblings.

By all means Sammy with the Power Suit could probably get access to the Demonica suit's power to summon and fight on-par with demons...But she'd have to kill someone with the suit or get her hands on one first.

Hot springs man. They do wonders for your complexion.

On a more serious note I do agree that Mikoto looks pretty young. Then again we don't really have confirmed ages for any of the characters yet, so maybe she's still relatively young (for a mother of five) and still has the vitality and energy to keep going despite all the hardships she and her country are facing.
