As long as an FD/Omega form distinction is made in the counterpicking process, I don't think Mac will fall by the wayside. He'll be a great pocket character for those who like to download opponents and want the second game as a quick confirmatory test on their habits.

we're all using cyan text

A year from now I think Little Macs will be played by actual Little Mac specialists. I think public opinion just led one to expect a little more than he had, and now there will be a knee-jerk reaction where people will sleep on him until a real champ or two rises.

What Cyan Text?

Anyway, my problem with mac still is, even on FD, he's a character that is still very predictable. His air options are still awful, and its hard to use them effectively outside of nair (Nair is a combo starter <3). Even if you do use them, they still don't do very much. And as for his ground game, its not awfully hard to figure out what a mac's going to do, super armor aside. The problem most people have still is not reading the mac; its punishing them despite the super armor. People still don't know how to handle all of his abusive Super Armor Frames yet.

I think that Mac will absolutely have some kind of resurgence as a force to be reckoned with. I don't know how many people are contributing to his meta at the moment, after being ridiculed by the masses, many of them probably dropped him, but even a small amount of people could take Mac places.

Strange I'm using Brawl dash dance as a Robin player more than I see Little Macs using it. :/ No excuse now that we have proper controllers.

I still use Mac as one of my characters, but he's extremely frustrating to play at times. A lot of times you will lose to people with him you feel are better than, but you just gimped on one or more stocks. At the same time though, the feelings you get when you hit them with that dtilt then watch the camera zoom in as you KO punch them into oblivion makes up for a lot of it :)

Is down tilt into KO guaranteed? I haven't seen or heard enough good Mac to know.

Yes. Its a true combo on *I Believe* the entire cast at low to mid percents. At higher percents, Dtilt can potentially knock them into the air too high unless mac jumps up after them. There's a thread on the mac forums with the tested percents so far for the cast and when it works.

I wonder if it will end up like Melee Falco. Not in the sense Little Mac has a screen-spanning projectile that would make the worst character in the game no less than mid tier, but rather that they are the archetypical daredevil character, being absolutely deadly but having a short life span.

I'd imagine it's very frustrating when everyone else has absolutely absurd recoveries in this game, though. Poor guy is so easily gimped.

Another question: Does KO Punch simply KO above a certain percent or is it a normal move that knocks them up? I ask because I wonder if/how different blast zones effect it (like Omega Dreamland on 3DS with it's stupidly high blastzones).

I won't lie; I drew some parallels to melee falco too at first. Its similar in the concept of really good off stage, really bad offstage. The key difference is falco also had top tier aerials; mac does not. Melee Falco's dair is arguably his best move (the other being shine). A lot of characters in melee have bad recoveries too, so Falco's weakness isn't as profound. Recoveries as a whole are a lot better in smash 4 than in melee, the ledge mechanics differences being one of the main reasons.

Its a normal move that knocks them up; it just has a TON of knockback. It won't kill at very low percents a lot of the time (sub 20s usually). Higher blastzones would make you live against it a little longer, but not all that much. Maybe 10% Difference, 20 at the very most imo. I'd be surprised if a blast zone helps anymore than that vs it.

Yea I know it's not literally just a KO Punch, I think 27 is the magic % for most of the cast.

It's just a matter of metagame development. Little Mac will become big within a few months.

Nair is love, nair is life.
I was only at 9%...
I loved recovering so much.
I had all the custom up-b's.
I pray to Sakurai every night, thanking him for the offstage game I've been given. :4jigglypuff:
My opponent hears me and calls me a noob.
I know he was just jealous of my devotion to Sakurai.
I call him a Sony fanboy.
I'm rage quitting now, as I'm being gimped by the worst character in the air.
Nair is love, nair is life. :4littlemac:
oh my god what did i just write

Edit: My computer is being stupid and didn't send this part:

On a serious note, I think Little Mac is pretty good, but he just requires a lot of careful thinking and precision so as to not be pushed off the stage. If a good player can stay on stage most of the time, they'll destroy with him. If customs become tournament legal, he has an up-b (not sure which one, sorry) that makes him go a LOT higher although it does less damage and knockback so he loses a KO move in that manner, although that doesn't hurt too much as he can already kill so well.

Apparently Hong needed more supply.
And I'm setting myself up to being disappointed at how few people will get that joke.

Also the final final battle event is kinda frustrating. I bet there's a cheap tactic that works well but I haven't looked around online yet-

Speaking of the actual FE games, finally beat the future past DLC on Lunatic. I got the bad ending because in Lunatic, you're lucky to keep one child alive on a given level, much less all 4 LOL. I watched the good ending on youtube though, and know I could crush that on Hard no problem.

H-He's back...? But how? Does that mean...?

Oh... Uh, ha ha, forget I said anything...

That looks too nice to be real.
Fake Amiibos pop up everywhere. I want Snake back, but that just screamed fake.

after marth's amiibo there's a low standard for amiibos

True, I was kind of half-joking. Snake getting an Amiibo in the first place with little fanfare was a huge red flag to me.

A couple of them are good, but the colored plastic... Eww... Pikachu seems fine, though.

there's also a high standard for advertisement-perfect amiibo's. Peach for example :(

Oddly enough, Peach's doesn't bother me much. The original looks WAY better, but she looks better than Marth at least.

Plastic aside, Fox's looks incredible. I'll probably get Robin no matter what it looks like since I doubt we're getting a Robin Figma anytime soon.

My Marth amiibo actually looks pretty decent in my opinion. It is a bit lacking around the eyes, but it's nowhere near as bad as that image that's been doing the rounds, and the rest of the figure is pretty detailed. (I did look reeeeally closely at them before buying though, and made sure I got the better looking of the two they had in stock)

In other news, finally tried Robin on Wii U today, and damn that's good. Feels way better than on 3DS, though you could say that about most characters, so *shrug*

Could be that people are just posting the worst/funniest, as well. I'm not saying the actual products are jaw-dropping, but people love pointing out mistakes.
How do people decide to throw that much money at something for a laugh? It's funny, but worth $2500?

I fear the Robin amiibo... I just know that they're going to ruin the Levin Sword worse than Falchion.

I haven't picked up any amiibo yet, but i'm an unfortunate one who plays Marth and Peach, both tied for the record holding worst amiibo to date.

Shulk's is probably the worst looking, in my opinion.

He looks so...... Feminine? Is that the word? He doesn't look like Shulk, anyway.
