Ok, lets see what's going on in this thre-

*Reads about werid and cool Mega evloution and Hong being Dedede*

...............
Well ok then
wheres my mega golurk that will ripoff megagargomon already nintendo pls ;_;

Still patient .:088:
My summary of you LIQUIDFGC

Speaking of Awakening- you know what really annoys me?

Why didn't they bother putting in Robin's "bowing" animation from his source game?

I always considered this a missing, but important and memorable part of the the character that should been in some form in the Sm4sh. But hey, perhaps more OOC cockiness was needed more than respect in this game series.
You know what? Your right. I would have so loved to be able to bow to my opponent when I KO then while he says "Glad to me your Acquaintances" or "A worth opponent indeed!". Though I would have also love him to say "But I am no ordinary Swordsman!" but I guess I'll get my chance another day.

Because Smash Robin is supposed to be sassy.
Bowing is the complete opposite of sassy. :4robinf:
That's true, but :4robinm: is actually a very caring and complementing person. Plus
Aw, but the levitation stuff is so cool... :crying:
I do love the levitation too. I wish he just had better lines. Not that there bad, there just not the best he could have had.

:4robinf: fits fine on that bill, but :4robinm: feels quite boasting himself. It's strange how he seems to lower that to some when winning Lucina.
Have you actually ever play a Fire Emblem run through with :4robinm:x:4lucina:?

Speaking of Mega Evolutions, am I the only one who wants to see Mega Serperior? Now that would be the definition of badass.

You know what? Samurott wouldn't be half bad. But no. Just no to Emboar. Just. no.
It could actually be pretty cool, depending on how they pull it off. Think Beast Ganon with flames. Of course, GameFreak will probably just go off and make it even more ******** looking, so maybe you have a point there.

I would only support it if it changed from a Fire/Fighting to Fire/anything else.

It seems like whenever I visit this thread, other subjects start invading it. But that's ok, a little variety is good.

So the subject today is Pokemon, huh?

We've already had 3 generations of that, they need something new. On the topic of Mega Evos, I wouldn't mind seeing Mega forms of the 2nd Gen starters.

I know how they're like, and that's why I said it's strange that he breaks off that "role" to show his true character a bit (around Lucina). I mean, :4robinm: doesn't really wish to boast about himself according to his supports, more of appearing very humble than anything else (yet Smash Bros has him say lines like "I'm always three steps ahead" and whatnot.)

My headcanon is that Smash Bros is bit like a huge movie-style project with actors and so on, which explains how it can force everyone to boast themselves through given "lines" when doing a movie even if the characters might not really "feel" them being true to themselves. (FE-characters foremost)
Heck, I can even see in 3DS-version how M!Eobin looks little "angry" with eyebrows down, then lets them up again after a while doing his "I'm always three steps ahead"-pose. It's little touch that makes me think if Robin really is enjoying having to say what he's saying. Compare F!Robin who does the whole thing just fine and stern without budging an eyebrow.

I've been playing since yesterday evening on my physical copy. :D
Honestly, having a brand new gamecube controller without smears, wear or tear on it felt weird at first. ;)

Though hopefully this means I'll finally be able to play online. That didn't work before.

EDIT: Yes, I can go online now. Also, I really need to add more NNIDs. ;)

In all honestly i'm starting to think that the Megas were a pretty bad idea, like a lot of them overshadow the actual Pokémon, and it makes everyone want a mega of everything.
I think they should have limited the Mega Evolutions only to Pokémon that really needed them, and maybe legendaries for the visual flare.

I see what you did there! Maybe. Seriously, was it intentional or not?

Anyways, I completely agree that we need to give megas more so to pokemon who really need them (absol, mawile, kangaskhan).

By legendaries, do you mean ones with relatively comparably low stats (raiku, entei, suicune, articuno, zapdos, moltres, etc.), or are you trying to completely nuke the ubers tier with overpowered supermegas (palkia, dialga, girantina, zekrom, reshiram)? Because that would be cool in its own sort of way, but I dunno...

A family friendly forum about a series where you can take questionably angled snapshots of Peach in Melee and Brawl, and Palutena in Smash 4? Surely you jest. :dkmelee:

Mmm now that I'm rethinking it, @ Hong Hong is right, just because the creator might be a little perverted sometimes (geez, have you seen some of the old pics of the day), doesn't mean we have to be. Gonna have to try and restrain myself to do this

As far as Peach goes, nothing inherently perverted about being able to angle the camera to see the garments under a character's dress. You kind of want to have a proper garment on underneath, no? Not like Peach's bloomers were particularly risque. It's one thing if it's one of those Japanese games that have characters with desperately short skirts and/or deliberately have poses that try to reveal them towards the viewer.

Zero Suit Samus is about where I would draw the line. On the surface she is not much different than Snake, being a soldier who had a rather form-fitting suit apt for her occupation. It's when you bring in the fetish-esque whip and taunts that I start to think they deliberately tried to make the character sexy. Palutena is a whole different level and her trailer had little in the way of subtlety, so I won't get into that. I liked her 80s design l

Regardless, I would say Fire Emblem has done a lot more than Smash ever has in terms of edgy content, when you think about it. Something like ZSS could just be a product of Samus's depiction in her own series combined with the standards the media has set for fictional women (especialy Asia), sure, but there is a lot in Fire Emblem that cuts straight to the point.

Forced incest, mutilation, human trafficking... Never mind some of the character designs in Awakening. With cases like Tharja, I'm inclined to say she shouldn't be a problem and that the international audience can be a bit too sensitive. With cases like Nowi's design and her being able to marry, I think that's sending out the wrong kind of message.

But I digress. We keep SmashBoards family friendly for a number of reasons, including but not limited to being compliant with the standards of partners. Anyone who has seen Smashers or anything from the FGC in particular knows we can be anything but clean and politically correct, so of course we don't hold people accountable at events and whatnot (though a lot of streams these days like VGBC have wisely established a set of guidelines). That said, here on SmashBoards, we would like to keep it self-sustaining and free-to-use, and it all starts with the messages we can convey and the words we put out there.

Well said! But you forgot about Shulk. I get that he's fanservice, but.... yeah.

Oh, and so long as we're actually talking about Fire Emblem, everyone go look up "Awakening Drama CDs."

Inigo: Owain! Look out!
Owain: Inigo!
Owain: I’m sorry…! It’s because you covered for me!
Inigo: Owain…
Owain: What? Why!?
Inigo: I-I…you know…I would’ve preferred…saving a girl… [collapses]
Owain: INIGOOOOOOOOOOO!
Gerome: What is this farce?
Noire: It’s just a scratch. You’re exaggerating.

When talking about FE:A with the marriage system you can make some really weird situations. It's weird to see Nowi marry one of the old looking characters (like Gregor) especially with her attitude and don't forget that you can make MU marry Lucina, I mean it's like your are making with your best friend future daughter that in the present is like 2 years old.

For the record, I agree 100% with keeping this forum Fit For All Ages.

I just wanted a reason to use the :dkmelee: emote in fitting context.

Fire Emblem being consistently edgy, I always attributed to the series maintaining similarities to Greek, Roman, and Norse mythology, something it does quite well, for better or worse.

And marriage can lead to some weird inconsistencies.
Like Owain claiming his father was killed by an arrow in the future. Even when his father is Robin.
...
Lissa: Honey, your father becomes an evil dragon that destroys the world in the future.

I've always just chalked this down to childhood trauma, though.
And Virion yelling at Inigo for flirting with too many girls.

You mean for the fact that those cultures married underage daughters to completely older strangers?

I not going read that spoiler because I'm still in chapter 19 in my first run.

I got Awakening like two weeks before Smash WiiU and I can't stop playing is just so awesome.

EDIT: And I don't know why there are two spoilers for my comment...
