YOU PLAY LUIGI! >_>EDIT: I also hate Roy in this game because a lot of his moves are safe and he is so damn powerful. He is a character that I think should be nerfed considerably.
I understand that you don't like Luigi, but don't insult me over it.YOU PLAY LUIGI! >_>
Like, Roy is not that hard to figure out. But of all people, a Luigi main complaining about moves being 'safe and powerful' is hysterical.
This is the most beautifully vicious thing I've ever read. Bravo to Comic Book Resources.
This is savage.
Das pretty sweet!I had somebody draw my re-design of Ridley from the Metroid series. This is how it turned out:
It's supposed to fit the style of Pacific Rim in case you were wondering.
Artist is this guy right here: http://snake151.deviantart.com/
Clearly they were trying to copy the success of Wreck-It-Ralph, but ended up with something more along the lines of the Super Mario Bros. Movie.I think we can sum up that Pixels movie with an Angry Video Game Nerd quote but most of what the AVGN says would have to be censored, so I'll quote one of his tamer lines.
"WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?!"
I dunno, maybe I am imagining things.Roy's only safe moves, to my knowledge, are down tilt and NAir. Everything else seems to not be safe.
At least down tilt is a good poke. Nyehhhh
My friends call Luigi's down-b "The Priority 'Nado"~YOU PLAY LUIGI! >_>

He was joking, dear.I understand that you don't like Luigi, but don't insult me over it.
I play as him because he is my favorite video game character, not to freaking win.
This is why I am so iffy on entering a tournament. Stuff like this is honestly discouraging.
His fsmash is really dumb when sweetspotted. Perhaps just wait and punish? At the very least, your shield will be pushed back thanks to the move's dumb power. I know nothing about Roy other than him not having a lot of safe moves that aren't down tilt and NAir, and his "somewhat" reliance on grabs.I dunno, maybe I am imagining things.
I just expect side smash to have some endlag and it doesn't. I died kinda early from it, too.
Yeah, I getcha. When I said you were joking, I meant you intended it humorously and without rancour. No no, I wasn't joking, but he also misunderstood my point.
I have nothing against Luigi players. What I find hilarious is the fact that he is not only complaining about a weaker character than his own, but is complaining for the same reasons others commonly complain about Luigi himself.
It'd be like if I played Brawl MK and complained about Marth having too much range/being too safe.
It's the irony of it that I find funny.
Aw, nothing should ever deter you from entering a tournament, honestly! Not only are you an extremely good player, (I've seen with my own eyes, son), things like this really shouldn't stop you or make you feel "iffy" about entering a tournament. Also, tournaments are supposed to help you get better if you are having trouble with particular matchups! This is why I am so iffy on entering a tournament. Stuff like this is honestly discouraging.
I guess that makes sense.Incidentally, Roy is extremely dangerous if you aren't prepared. You have to fight him very differently to how you'd fight any other swordfighter - including Swordfighter.
His neutral attack is stupid because it's very good with spacing. I know some Luigis who have cited problems with that move in particular. His fsmash is really dumb when sweetspotted. My main fear is that I don't want to be mocked for being a Luigi player.Aw, nothing should ever deter you from entering a tournament, honestly! I was wondering why it said "Player 2" when I thought I was playing against CPUsI play the best Roy in our region (possibly in the country) on a near-daily basis.
You're a brave soulI play Palutena
Ha ha ha ha!I was wondering why it said "Player 2" when I thought I was playing against CPUs
joking of course, my Roy is not that great yet. Feeling pretty confident about my Marth at the moment though, and been putting in a decent bit of work with ZSS as well lately. I might actually win the first game I play tomorrow!
Here's the thing rightMy main fear is that I don't want to be mocked for being a Luigi player.
Also, I find Luigi to be overrated. Top 5 is hilarious when he has some very, very exploitable weaknesses (predictable and gimpable recovery, poor traction, and limited approach tools)
Neutral attack... jab? That thing has almost no cooldown; I think you're right on spacing.@ smokebomb12
I apologize for my attitude. If you like, we can play again in the future.
I guess that makes sense.

Roy is one of those characters that gives me trouble constantly.

You said you play against the best Roy in the country on a daily basis, so that'd mean you were playing against me, no (hence "player 2")?Ha ha ha ha!
I don't get it~ :3
Ha! You two have to fight sometime. You said you play against the best Roy in the country on a daily basis, so that'd mean you were playing against me, no (hence "player 2")?
Of course, I don't actually think I'm the best Roy player in the country, which is why I pointed out that it was a joke.
even then Swordfighter plays entirely different from all the other SwordfightersMy friends call Luigi's down-b "The Priority 'Nado"~

Yeah... his jab.Neutral attack... jab? That thing has almost no cooldown; I think you're right on spacing.
He's a fast faller, right? Well, doesn't Luigi like destroying them with his combos? He has Fireballs, too; iirc they are +1 or +2 on shield, I'm not sure. They also seem to have low cooldown.
Thank you for the offer, but I will consider fighting you tomorrow.
Luigi is my favorite video game character. He's my childhood hero. When I was growing up, I looked up to Luigi and I related with him, especially when I am the youngest in my family (and I think that I am a bit overshadowed). So, Luigi has always stuck with me. Whether it's Mario Kart, Tennis, Golf, Party, and Smash Bros., I always play as him. Here's the thing right
I absolutely despise when people are condemned or ridiculed for using a certain character. Seriously, I think it's the most shallow, immature thing someone could ever do. Sure, it may have been annoying to see everyone use Diddy Kong before the patch, or currently seeing countless Sheik mains. But in all honesty, if a certain character clicks for you, use the character. I can see from your list of mains that you've stayed loyal to Luigi since 64, which is something I find quite heart warming.
You really shouldn't be scared that you're gonna be "mocked" for being a Luigi player, even though I don't think anyone would do so. I know nothing about Luigi in general so I can't really have my input on his strengths, weakness', whether he should be in top 5 etc, but if you play as Luigi, that's fine.
Speaking of Luigi, I think it's really funny, ironic, and really nice to see that in most games Luigi is just a better overall character than Mario stat wiseLuigi is my favorite video game character. If he gets nerfed in the next patch or game, fine. I will still play him. I've just been having those fears lately.
That's quite adorable! It's always lovely to find a character in which you can relate with so much. Can it really kill that early? I've been killed pretty early by his Fsmash but never at 50% center stage.....Roy may be incredibly strong, his f-smash killing certain characters at approximately 50% when sweetspotted whilst in the middle of the stage.
I really do. we have to split up during school months.I just find Roy's movement speed slightly annoying. Idk why he's gotta be able to move that fast.

@ smokebomb12 you have a hella big family if you have 7 brothers and 4 sisters
I remember killing a poor Meta Knight at the center of the stage whilst he was roughly at 50%. That said, I think it was a semi-charged f-smash in addition with poor DI, but it was still quite diabolical.I just find Roy's movement speed slightly annoying. tfw you get jab 1 to tipper f-smashfor what it's worth, Marth's tipper f-smash actually kills earlier than Roy's sweetspot f-smash. Only reason Marth's doesn't get as much flak is because it's harder to land (and because Marth is seen as "bad" otherwise, as if his f-smash is the only thing he has going for him).
KEEP EREN JAEGERI really do. we have to split up during school months.
@ Matsushi ...I was about to change it.
Here what should it be.

I relate to some other characters like Shulk and Robin, but Luigi has always been that character that I relate to the most. That's quite adorable! It's always lovely to find a character in which you can relate with so much. Rhys from Tales from the Borderlands is a prime example of that for me!
On the subject of you feeling a bit overshadowed, I can certainly relate. Well, I could relate. Very recently, it had occurred to me that the whole thought of myself being overshadowed, not being as good as my older siblings and generally feeling like a lesser person than them was all a psychological thing. You're just as good as the rest of your family, I'm sure! c:
