Bayonetta for sure, maybe Quote as another indie trophy? He really deserves one, and outside of PC releases, Cave Story has exclusively been on Nintendo consoles. Then maybe some Tecmo-Koei characters like Ryu Hayabusa, Liu Bu or some DoA fighters. We've already seen two Fatal Frame trophies, so we know that Tecmo-Koei is getting at least some representation. Atlus probably has some too, maybe Jack Frost or something. On top of that, we'll definitely see some extra Namco, Capcom, and Sega characters, probably the usual suspects like Ryu, Heihachi, and NiGHTS. Characters that are strongly associated with Nintendo systems, like Phoenix Wright or Professor Layton, may also appear. There MAY be some Square-Enix characters, and there definitely will not be Konami characters, because if Konami was working on this game, we would have Snake. If Snake comes as DLC, I think that Simon Belmont and Bomberman trophies wouldn't be out of the question as part of the package.

I would expect between 15 and 25 of these kinds of trophies.

Trophies are for learning about the history of Nintendo, not gaming as a whole. The whole concept would be ruined by adding in non-Nintendo characters.
Thing is, these characters are part of Nintendo's history, just like Mega Man, Sonic, and Pac-Man are. Even though they weren't created by Nintendo, Rayman and even CommanderVideo have a presence on Nintendo consoles.

I'd like to see Quote, Shovel Knight, and Captain Viridian show up for indies. Also, someone from Final Fantasy. (Black Mage FTW)

...That's about all I could think of, but I don't think they'll bring everything in it so can't really expect anything about it though.
Among the list I made, not everything will be chosen, but I can guess which one in there may have a possible along with it's reasons...
  • NiGHTs: This game has been a very popular and famous game than any Sonic Team franchises since the Sega Saturn era. He also appeared many times throughout every Sonic Team games, such as Sonic Adventure, Sonic Adventure 2, Billy Hatcher & the Giant Egg, etc. Mostly NiGHTs have appeared in many Nintendo franchised Sega games, so there may be a possibility that he can be in as a trophy.
  • Bayonetta: I haven't played this game before but since the second sequel was released for Wii U and franchised by Nintendo, there may be a possibility that she can be a trophy too. Not to mention there were special Nintendo costumes in the actual game (which made her a lot more sexy :p)
  • Hatsune Miku (Vocaloid): I know Vocaloid was made by Crypton, but Hatsune Miku had many ties with Sega having her own music game. Although some games were for PSs, Project Mirai was released mostly for Nintendo. So if they chose this character as a trophy, I'd rather choose the original form rather than the little one.
  • Arle Nadja & Carbuncle (Puyo Puyo): This game was originally from Compile, but since it was released mostly for Sega, they're license now belongs to them, which Puyo Puyo is now Sega's popular puzzle game. Since these games were also released mostly for Nintendo, as they made a collaboration with Tetris, I think choosing this duo as trophy is a good one. There is Amite and Ringo who's also a main protagonist throughout the modern Puyo Puyo games, but Arle was the first main since the Sega Genesis era, so maybe she can get the spotlight.
  • Ryu (Street Fighter): Street Fighter is now a face of Capcom alongside with Mega Man (maybe), and few Street Fighter games were released for Nintendo, including the recent VI for 3DS. He also made as a playable character in a 3DS released Project X Zone, so maybe he can be a trophy as well.
  • Arthur (Ghouls N Ghosts): Ghouls N Ghosts was the first horror game before Resident Evil, and was released for Nintendo twice I guess. He also made an appearance as a support character in Project X Zone, so maybe he can be a trophy if possible.
  • Viewtiful Joe: This game was mostly released in Nintendo franchise, alongside as being a playable in Tatsunoko VS Capcom. As the creator was also a fan of Smash Bros., they made a game that looks like one. So as a respect, maybe they can bring Viewtiful Joe as a trophy.
  • Phoenix Wright (Ace Attorney): This game was mostly released for Nintendo and it was a huge success as this game has a greater tie with Nintendo. Plus they're collaboration with Professor Layton has released for 3DS, so Pheonix can be a trophy alongside with Layton if possible.
  • Amaterasu (Okami): This game was first released in PS2, but later to Wii because the paint brush system was perfect with the Wii remote. Plus the sequel has been released for DS which was a success, so Amaterasu can become a trophy if possible.
  • Klonoa: Although there's only 2 games released in Nintendo, he was mostly mentioned throughout the time when third parties appeared for Brawl, even Smash 4. Not to mention someone made a fake leak of it not too long ago. But there is no difference that he was mentioned and I wouldn't think Nintendo could ignore it, so maybe he can be a trophy if possible.
  • Heihachi (Tekken): Tekken is now a face of Namco, and although Heihachi is a main villain, he's been a face of Tekken more than Kazuya and Jin, plus being a running gag in many Tekken endings. The recent Tekken game was released in Nintendo too, so maybe Heihachi can become a trophy as well.
  • Tenzai Kogoro & Koryuji Mii (Project X Zone): Although Namco X Capcom was release for PS only in Japan, its sequel was mostly released throughout Nintendo DS, including Project X Zone as the last for 3DS. Since Sega, Capcom, and Bandai Namco worked together for this game, and since both three company also joined Smash 4, maybe bringing the main protagonist duo as a trophy maybe possible.
  • Don & Katsu (Taiko no Tatsujin): This Japan-only drum music game has been very popular than DDR series, and was released for Nintendo many times as they have great ties to each other. Mario's music were mostly used in this game, and we've seen Don joining Mario Kart Arcade GP too, including Don appearing in Pac-Man's upper appeal, so since they were mentioned many times by fan (as it could be irritating that they were mostly playable requests), the duo may be possible to join in as a trophy.
  • Agumon (Digimon): First created as an alternation of Tamagotchi, and now became a competition against Pokemon, which they're amount of Digimons have became more than a thousand as the creators no longer be able to count them all. Most but few Digimon games were released for Nintendo, mainly being an RPG. Agumon has been known as a mascot of the series, and some people were mentioning and requested him to be playable for Smash 4. Maybe becoming a trophy is possible, but I hardly doubt it now because they are more mentioned as being an anime character than a game.
  • Mametchi (Tamagotchi): Tamagotchi series has been released in Nintendo many times for targeting children and toddlers, since they knew PS and Xbox would be a huge failure though. Mametchi has been a main mascot throughout the series, and became a playable character alongside with Pac-Man in Mario Kart Arcade GP. As being a Bandai franchised character, maybe he can be a trophy as well, but maybe not because just like Agumon, people now these days are mentioning him being an anime character than a game.
  • Ryu Hayabusa (Ninja Gaiden): Although DoA is now a face of Tecmo, Ryu Hayabusa was a face of it before then. Before the remake, the series were released for Nintendo within 3 sequels, known being a hardest game alongside with Ghouls N Ghosts. Although its sad that Ryu couldn't join Smash 4 as his ninjutsu abilities perfectly matches for Smash, being a trophy can be possible as a respect.
  • Chocobo (Final Fantasy): Appeared many times throughout the Final Fantasy series as a riding creature throughout the world map, which this bird is now a main mascot throughout the series. Being a trophy may be a good one, but maybe they'll add the Moogle with Chocobo as it being part of the Final Fantasy mascot too.
  • Slime (Dragon Quest): Although being a common enemy throughout the Dragon Quest series, its also known as a main mascot throughout the series too. Slime also became a playable characters among side story games like Dragon Quest Monsters, and guests in many Super Mario collaborations. Maybe he can become a trophy as a respect.
  • Goemon (Mystic Ninja Goemon): Just like leprechaunlink727 said, I think Konami won't make it as trophies. But there's a slight of possibility, maybe some character from Konami can appear as trophies. I chose Goemon because not just his games were released mainly for Nintendo, but as being a former Konami mascot. Although his series are now dead, many fans mentioned about him being playable (not to mention there was an idiot black-mailing Sakurai in Miiverse), so maybe at least he can become a trophy if possible.
  • Django & Master Otenko (Boktai): Maybe there won't be any possibilities for Konami to bring in trophies but Boktai had many ties with Mega Man Battle Network in the past, and since we know Mega Man EXE appears alongside with Mega Man as a FS, maybe these duo can appear as special tied trophies, but I highly doubt it now.
  • Manaka Takane/Rinko Kobayakawa/Nene Anegasaki (Love Plus): Maybe not as I already said with the other 2 Konami characters above, but to explain, Love Plus series were mostly released for Nintendo, mainly for DS and 3DS which became a huge success as being famous sister game of Tokimeki Memorial. Nintendo may bring the trio as a trophy, but I highly doubt it now since Konami's not with Smash. And don't worry, this will be my last.
  • Spelunker: Known as the legendary crappy game made by Irem, which the main character can easily die just by stepping off the elevator and jumping off the hedge. Although Spelunker has been known as the most weakest hero in video game history, the game has become famous among core fans. Possibly Nintendo can bring him as a trophy as a respect.
  • Jack Frost: Although I don't know anything about Persona and Megami-Tensei (I'd blame the Devil Children manga which made me think every Atlus story doesn't make any sense), Jack Frost has been known as the mascot of Atlus as he appeared in many Atlus games. As a respect, maybe Nintendo can bring him as a trophy.
  • Mackenzie & Funghi (Touch Detective): Although the second sequel suddenly stopped for a while which possibly because of the lack of popularity, Funghi has became a main mascot to that series which now became a famous character throughout Japan, Due this success, Touch Detective series have returned active as they have a puzzle game, a third sequel, even a music game which'll be released this month. I'd be glad if the duo made it as a trophy, but that'll be decided on Nintendo though.
  • Shiren & Koppa (Mystery Dungeon: Shiren the Wanderer): Many Mystery Dungeon series were released mainly for Nintendo, which Pokemon were very involved with this series. Shiren the Wanderer was the start of this series, and it may be good if they'd brought the duo as a respected trophy.
  • Space Invader: This game is known as a main mascot of Taito franchise, and it may be a good respect for Taito if they brought them as a trophy.
  • Professor Layton: His series were mostly released for Nintendo, mainly on the portable consoles. Due to his popularity, many requested Layton to join Smash, as there were rumors back then that he will as it was later debunked, so he may still be mentioned to Nintendo already. Plus he also had a collaboration with Phoenix Wright, so maybe he can be a trophy along with Phoenix.
  • Shibanyan (Yokai Watch): Although there's Layton, Shibanyan is now known to be Level 5's new face, as this game has now became extremely popular among children in Japan. People even requested Shibanyan to become playable, which it really became irritating since that corrupted Miiverse for a while...:glare: But there's no difference that it might have mentioned to Nintendo already, so maybe a trophy of Shibanyan is possible, but I highly doubt on it because people are now mentioning him being an anime character than a game.
...Well, that was long.:dizzy: Although I doubt everything here will be chosen, just like leprechaunlink727 said before, 15-25 characters can be trophies.

You don't understand. I'm talking about elements created by Nintendo. Honestly, you'e pretty stupid for misinterpret what I said. Didn't know stupidity like that existed.

I can easily imagine some WayForward games getting some trophies since they're mainly a Nintendo friendly company. While Shantae would probably have the best chance, I'd love to see the Mighty games (particularly Mighty Switch Force) get some representation. They've appeared exclusively* on multiple Nintendo platforms (DSi, 3DS, Wii U), and one of those games [Mighty Switch Force] was so popular that it got a sequel and an HD remake.

So yeah, here's the trophies I'd like:

WayForward:

  • Shantae [Shantae games]
  • Atla [Mighty Flip Champs]
  • Patricia Wagon [Mighty Switch Force]
Other:
  • Quote [Cave Story]
  • Bayonetta [Bayonetta]
If any of these trophies somehow makes it in, I will be forever happy.

*Mighty Flip Champs was later ported to PSN as a PSMini, though it still appeared on a Nintendo console first

Apparently there was Baten Kaitos music on the Gaur Plains stage. So maybe a trophy of the BK (lol) protagonist? (Namco and monolith soft)

Although I'd also like to see KOS-MOS to finish the Monolith Soft cast if we got a Baten Kaitos trophy.

I hope there's a lot of them, so we'll be able to use it as counter material when someone says Nintendo has no third party support. >;3

I could see Kalas maybe as a trophy, I do find it odd that Baiten Katos music is in Smash though when it is actually third-party (granted, it is Bamco and Monolith). So yeah, I'd bet on Kalas at least from BK.

As for other third-parties:

1.) Bayoneta, I'd say she's an almost guaranteed addition.

2.) Lloyd Irving, I think the Tales series is big enough and appears often enough on Nintendo to get a trophy. Lloyd would be a good choice for that, being from the most popular game in the series that was also on a Nintendo console, to boot.

3.) NiGHTS would be nice, though I don't really expect it to happen.

4.) Kalas, only because of the BK music. The games were Nintendo exclusive as well.

5.) Bomberman

6.) Simon Belmont

7.) Professor Layton, I REALLY think this should be in for sure.

8.) Phoenix Wright, ditto.

Not sure about others. I really don't think Snake will get a trophy, it'd be odd for him to be playable in Brawl then be demoted to a trophy.

I'd love to see trophies of Shantae, Shovel Knight, Bayonetta, and Snake (assuming he will never be DLC).
