Okay, so I got this idea to make a mega-guide on how to step up your game when you have no one to play with.

Now, obviously for tech-skill, you can go into melee vs comp, set their ratio to .5 with a 1, 9 handicap (you having the 1, obviously), and then just wail on them as Fox. I'll put this part more in-detail on the Fox boards (and I stole the idea from RaynEx, so credit where it's due.) In less than 3 days, I went from missing l-cancels and having sloppy waveshines to being able to do the walking waveshine with reversals in it, as well as double shining and ending it with almost any option.

With Peach, I have my own variation where I practice FC nair (and jab cancels/follow ups) on him until he hits 400%. Then I switch to practicing juggling him exclusively with fc uair. It's pretty much the only technical things I can think of with Peach, aside from dsmash OoS, fc nair OoS (which I need to practice more), and waveland/dj gimmicks.

How can I further step up my Peach game? I went into Fixed Camera mode and practiced edge-canceling everything I could think of. I learned how to move across PS1 and BF using nothing but double-jumps and wavelands. What else can I practice? My mobility is getting pretty sick, but I feel like Peach just doesn't have much to practice, outside of CGs and FC aerials.

I want people's tricks for leveling up their tech-skill, combos, and chases. Give me all the info in da world. I plan on eventually making a megaguide with all the info I gain from each character specific board, so we can further raise the general level of players across the country (obviously, I don't mind getting better, myself.)

I'm only going to make this thread for a few characters right now (Fox, Marth, Sheik, Peach, and prolly ICs or CF), but as things fill out, I may end up doing it for more characters, going in the order of what's needed/what I want to learn.

Soyeah, spill your secrets. I'm particularly interested to learn what top-level Peachs practice. I know the best practice is vs people, but sometimes, you just don't have that luxury.

Thanks in advance! :D

maybe djc nairs or other double jump canceled moves? float canceling does the same type of thing but theyr both worth using

The chain grab. And all the important 2-steps out of throw (u-throw > d-smash, u-throw > dash attack, u-throw > nair [running versions], etc).

Movement. Clean, crisp movements. They are important. Being able to dash > WD into the opponent's landing zone after hitting a dash attack is how Armada does a lot of his tech chases and to my knowledge it's the most efficient movement to get you there with available actions (down smash the tech stand & non-tech [or jab reset if you see the bounce and you want to go for something bigger], dash out of the WD into dash attack on the rolls).

Moving after you finish an attack. You want to action out of your moves as soon as possible. Having this sort of timing actually does make a huge difference.

Grabbing the edge in a variety of ways (I swear, keeping your float when you grab the edge [WD FF edgehog] opens up a ton of edgeguards vs low recoveries).

The DJ landing on platforms is kind of cool. It's made some movement jukes and platform follows possible that wouldn't be otherwise but it's fairly situational. Not sure I'd recommend it.

Maximizing the hitbox on your fair at various heights (this is mostly timing your fast fall after you start the move but it's important to get the hang of it).

Dashing (and doing similar actions) out of ground level FCs as fast as possible.

I've started CGing in friendlies again, much to the dismay of people who play vs me. Any other ways to practice that vs non-humans? Like... what are the best settings, aside from computer on evade?

Do you mean that he hits with a dash attack, then does dash into wavedash to get into the zone? That's an interesting idea, if so. I would have figured it was slower than just running, tbh. I need to watch more Armada. He's one of the few Peach players I really respect (there are like... 5-8 of them, lolol.)

Moving after an attack is definitely something worth practicing. Thanks for reminding me. I notice a lot of Peach players have problems with her run animation.

DJ wavelanding is helpful, but really easily countered by fat hitboxes, cuz Peach is a little chubby. Same with all characters, really, but for some reason she eats things harder.

I do need to practice that fair spacing. I mean, I have it down pretty well, but until a few months ago, I didn't even use it for zoning. I just used it to edgeguard/kill. Now I love the **** outta that move.

Dashing after a fc is something I could definitely stand to practice (I think.) Maybe like... fc aerial on block, dash away, pivot dtilt/fsmash to dodge and punish grab attempts vs not gay characters. I do need more shield pressure mix-ups, as fc aerial into jab, jab/grab/jab, grab/jab, dsmash are all kinda countered by grabbing at the right time. I've had some success with fc aerial, run away, djc back at them with a bair if they're trying to punish, or dj at them, float while bair/dairing, and land behind them. But more options are always better.

Punishing mid-low recoveries is something I need to get a bit better at. I think you know the height I mean. If you're on FD, it's like... one body length below where Foxes tend to shinespike (so like... 2-3 body lengths below). Low recoveries, I tend to just edgehog/dair/dsmash. I have a lot of ledge grab tricks, though. :D Still, videos showing what you're talking about are always appreciated, as my gimping could definitely improve, I feel.

EDIT: Sorry it took me so long to reply. My life has been pretty blegh lately. I haven't even really been practicing all that much.

Tbh, djc stuff is mainly for quick spacing. Djc into floats is worth practicing, but it's not really hard stuff, ya know?

dtilt and usmash are two of my favourite moves

Never done dtilt>usmash, though. Always just gone for an aerial. Tytyty

Can you give me an example of the bair thing? I think I know what you're talking about, but it's actually one of the things I've never even tried as Peach.

Oh, there's a match of my Peach vs some AZ player up. I play horribly, but it's online, if anyone wants me to link it.

Tournament this weekend, gonna try to get decent amounts of footage.
