Why do people hate Sunshine?

Why I don't like it?

1) No Mario power-ups
2) Pathetic characters (especially Il Piantissimo)
3) Yoshi gets killed by water (WTF?)
4) Short
5) Lacks interesting levels like the past Mario games
6) The final boss was just plain boring and dumb. You fight Bowser and Bowser Jr. in a giant bath tub and all they do is shoot bullet bills and breathe fire. I expected at least a decent boss battle with Bowser Jr. but it ended up being the worst final boss fight in the Mario series.

Sunshine lacked many things that would I would recognize in a Mario game. Sure, the whole cleaning up pollution was fun and the hidden levels where Mario loses his Fludd pack was pretty fun (the best part of the game). I also liked Shadow Mario. But Sunshine just didn't have enough.

The ONLY character Sunshine can have to its name is Bowser Jr. Now, it's not that Bowser Jr. couldn't have a unique moveset or that he's a bad character, it's just that there's so many better choices out there.

But the one character that really kills Bowser Jr.'s chances is none other than the infamous Geno.

Now, I'm not a fangirl, but I have to admit that if anyone NEEDS to be in this game, it's Geno. This is his last chance to get back into the gaming scene, and without his entry in Smash he will continue to be ignored by Square and generally be left in the corner to rot. Bowser Jr. can and will survive if he's not in this game. Geno won't. And anyone who's ever played SMRPG knows that Geno is too badass a character to just be allowed to die. (Yes, I realize that sounded VERY fangirlish, but really, it's the general consenses of the people who've played SMRPG..>_>)

Unless there's six Mario characters, Bowser Jr. probably won't make the cut. Of course, he still could, but he doesn't have the fanbase or a good enough first impression (Face it, anyone who hasn't played SMS WILL think Bowser Jr. is a clone.) to be the first choice for another Mario character. However, he IS the next best Mario character after Geno. FAR preferable to...Paper Mario *shudder* (For some reason, the GameFAQS boards LOVES Paper Mario...>_<)

Yes, because he DIDN'T have a cameo in Superstar Saga to remind us that Nintendo remembers he exists, he DOESN'T have a massive fanbase that's perservered for over ten years, Sakurai HASN'T expressed specific interest in the character, and he most certainly DIDN'T appear as one of the best characters in the game that is considered by many to be one of the best ever created AND kicked off an entirely new GENRE for the Mario series.

I'm one of the NICER Geno fans. Run while you still have the chance.

I didn't say anything about Bowser Jr. I said Smashville obviously isn't Mario stage either. So even if Delfino Plaza isn't Mario's stage, why couldn't they show him enter on that stage if they wanted to?

They didn't show Mario enter on the Mario Kart stage either. Does that mean that there's a Mario Kart character?

If they had character specific stages, Ike's stage would be based specifically on his games, instead of a generic Fire Emblem stage.

What roy_owns means is that in the latest update, every character featured was featured in thier own franchise's stage EXCEPT Mario. I think it makes sense, actually.
