Just simply not a fan. I'm not a fan of her or Ridley, but I knew that if I ditto'd Ridley he would be immediately put back in, like you did a little earlier, because he is too popular. I'm not here to argue who should be in the real roster or not, because this is just a game based on working together for an "ideal" roster yet at the same time each person is trying to get characters in that they want while trying to get rid of characters they don't want.
Based on that logic, since Ridley is back and I really could care less about him, I want to Ditto him, but I know that when I do he will be brought back in a few post, and therefore a waste of a good move.
By the way, just because I don't like Ridley or Anna and you do doesn't mean I'm trying to troll your moves or anything. This week I have added Geno and Ditto'd Lucario, Paper Mario, Anna, and Toon Link. Although I Geno is in my "ideal" roster (even though his chances in reality are very low... my childhood weeps.) he was removed very shortly by someone that I don't think I've seen post in this topic other than to remove him. What I'm getting at is this is just a game, and I'm not trying to make enemies, but just trying to have fun.
With that being said, I need to make my move, and it looks like that I will take another shot at Toon Link. It's the same way I felt about Paper Mario (and Toon Link the first time) when I Ditto'd him, I feel it is unnecessary for multiple versions of the same character.
Oh, no, I wasn't suggesting in the slightest that you were doing anything but trying to have fun, and I would not want to be anyone's enemy, I just wanted to know why. My impression about what the 'ideal' roster means is not what is ideal to us, but ideal for everyone, what you called "who should be in the real roster or not", as in the most
deserving. But then how do we measure deserving? It's not subjective, I can tell you that, it's based on iconic status and importance within the series and to Nintendo at large, it's based on their character, it's based on, certainly not least, their potential uniqueness. That is the highest standard Sakurai is known to hold, what can they bring to Smash? It is not based on popularity or likelihood, that's not idealism, that's populist 'realism'. Yes, this is a game, but I view it also as a game of measuring the people who hold this philosophy against those who bear the standard of their preference as ideal. I would love to discuss with you why Anna and Ridley and the like are the most deserving newcomers within their respective series, and would eagerly await you speaking of Geno's deservingness, which I do not see it at this time. Your move of removing Ridley under this philosophy, for example, would be a bad move simply because it removed Ridley, not because the move itself would be thwarted soon after.
For the record, I didn't care for Anna or Ridley before knowing of the things that made them as ideal of choices as they are, and I hold no personal fondness for Ridley OR Black Shadow, at all, I just know they are the most ideal newcomers withing their series, aside from maybe the conflict of Black Shadow and Samurai Goroh, they are very close together. I am trying to have fun also, but in the camaradery of making the ideal roster, the objective of the game, I become disheartened when I see people that fight against this. You've explained why you want Toon Link removed, I like that, it makes sense to me, but your resistance to everyone else is a mystery to me, and remains unfounded.
Edit: An important element I see in this game is that of knowing what is the most ideal or not, here not only to post our decisions, but to be a gateway to our reasons, that they may be discussed, and we may come closer to the Ideal roster, obviously my knowledge of the most ideal roster is not perfect, but that is why we do this game, so we may all go towards full knowledge of the ideal roster. So how about it, partner?
