Can someone tell me how to make the smooth white glow around the characters? I see some that are a bit more rough and some that look smooth as silk. All I have is paint.net so could someone tell me the quickest way of accomplishing this? I could probably figure it out but the method I would come up with probably wouldn't be time efficient.

Can you tell me where you found some of the icons in your sig? Or if you have them with you, can you give some?

I believe that the Mewtwo and Lucas renders from Smash 4 are already in the Roster Maker. Make sure yours is up-to-date, though.

This is what I do *I use PaintDotNet for this*;

1. Before starting, make sure you have PaintDotNet.
2. Make your icon.
3. Create a layer. Usually, the Template should be the Background layer and the Character should be on Layer 2. The 2nd Layer should be above the Background layer.
4. Create a 3rd Layer. The 3rd Layer should be below the 2nd Layer, and above the Background layer.

Easy way:
1. Copy your Character from the 2nd Layer.
2. Paste it in the Third Layer.
3. Enlarge the Character from 2 to 4 pixels, from the top right hinge.
4. Align the larger Character to the Character in the 2nd Layer, so it doesn't look off.
4. Go into Adjustments, and change both the Brightness and Contrast below Brightness / Contrast to 100.
5. Go into Effects, go under Blurs, and choose Gaussian blur.
6. Make sure it is at the lowest setting; 1. So it doesn't completely make the white blur go away.
You are then done.

Harder way:
1. Choose the Pencil tool.
2. Change the color to white.
3. Carefully draw pixels/lines over the Character in the 3rd Layer. Don't do it in the 2nd Layer, or else when you use the Gaussian blur, the character will be blurred out, too.
4. After drawing the white lines, go into Effects, go under Blurs, and choose Gaussian blur.
5. Like before, make sure it's at the lowest setting; One. If it still doesn't look thick enough, draw a second set of lines over the already-drawn lines in the Third layer, then blur it out.

Have you tried the Outline Object plugin?

Your welcome, that "edgy look" is just my terrible resizing, so it`s not a great thing, but, as you can tell, it gets the work done quickly.
