I said it before but I think Peach would have worked better as a sovereign leader type rather than boss girl. This kind of role fits more for Daisy.

Still not a fan of the voice either...Just doesn't sound Peach...

Okay, I think the main difference I'm getting from the movie!Peach is that she's a lot less... air-headed? That may be just the impression I'm getting from her new voice or face but I feel like Peach in the games are a bit more in her own world while she feels more focused on things around her.

But she's actively taking charge against an impending assault on her kingdom. Unless they'll make her lead an army of Toads (a real possibility), I don't see how more of a sovereign leader she can be.

I think they’ve only showed Peach’s more action-y scenes so far. When Bowser is literally at their doorstep and she has to prepare for a goddamn war.

I bet she’ll be less hardcore when she’s just hanging out with Mario and Toad.

Also, Peach took charge and kicked ass in that classic Mario comic and everybody liked it there. What’s different this time…

I mean as in a more commanding and directing approach. Those types of sovereign leaders, ones who don't engage in fights.

Well, she's one of the main characters in a children's adventure movie. It'd be boring if all she did was sit on her throne and tell people what to do while Mario did adventuring.
Fair point, again the role they seem to be giving her feels more like Daisy.

Maybe its also the voice as well. Doesn't sound like her in the games.

Street Fighter 6 really doesn't miss when it comes to women: Kimberly, Manon, Lily, and Marisa all have great designs.
IDK, most of the newcommers are kind of boring. They're just people with fighting styles. They barely represent diverse world cultures and they really don't have unique aesthetics like Necalli or G.

Agreed Chun Li, I am single plz hmu
I see you like milfs.

Respectable.

…I agree
We must protect her femininity at all costs.

So... I can't be the only one noticing some gay undertones between Prince Peasley and Luigi.

Like idk if it was intentional but uh... huh
It's very much one sided, Poor Luigi.

I have to disagree with you on that one.

Jamie is a drunken fist user who's a breakdancer. Kimberly is a black ninja that incorporates graffiti and 80s music into her concept. Lily is arguably the most authentic native Mexican character we got so far. Manon is a fashion model who thinks breaking people's backs with judo throws is the epitome of beauty. Marisa is over 6'8''.

Almost all newcomers are really unique and have memorable designs and backgrounds that have a lot of thought put into them.

I never played a Mario RPG and even I heard about how gay they are when together, I don't think it's an unpopular opinion lmao.

If you say so. I still think V had better newcommers. When I think Street Fighter characters I think ones who represent world cultures like Dhalsim, Zangief, Elena, Rashid, and Necalli. I also think of weird as hell oddballs like Blanka, Necro, and G. There always have been the basic Martial Arts users, and they can be fun if done in the right way. Plus there's all the characters from Final Fight and Rival Schools who are kind of judged on different criteria IMO. But like... IDK, at it's best Street Fighter is a mix of all of these things. And so far we only have just regular people with fighting styles. The way you described them doesn't change my opinion on them (except maybe Manon, that one is a little weird). But like... they're still all mostly either from North America or a White European. Or Japanese, I'm just gonna throw that one out there because it's probably a given considering where the series is from. Like... the world is so much more diverse than that. I don't know.

The new art style certainly doesn't help considering it just makes them all look like normal people when I compare it with the art style of 4 and 5 (and to an extent, 2, 0, and 3). Like... where's the stylization? The strange proportions? The cel shading? I thought for sure that would be coming back after they added it as a filter option in V. But no, they went in a more realistic direction instead and I just don't think it looks right for the series. And is part of the reason why all of these newcomers just seam like normal people to me, I think.

As the certified number one Tomboy advocator of all time, I agree female characters can be badass and I think it's an important aspect of Peach's character.

With that said I do not trust Illumination and really modern Hollywood in general to be able to make the distinction
I think down the line they will…and without making any biases be overly shown
I mean, I agree but Peach doesn't act like that so far in the trailers? She's confident but also shows that she can be teasing, cheerful, and kind and literally has the exact same pretty pink outfits from the games.

I don't think they're scrapping her feminine qualities just because she's taking stuff more seriously than usual.
I think the teases shown, and Hollywood, is why there’s worries about how Peach may end up
Maybe Peach should be more girly, but I rather like this Peach in the movie, as it shows her being more independent, if you know what I mean.
a good balance of badass and femininity to please all fans would be quite the meal, but the final draft of the movie will have to be seen first before any backlash can go down
This whole convo about Peach

I was gonna use Smash and SMRPG as examples on how Peach is likely gonna be in the movie…but SPM also works

Daisy does not approve of this

We stan Peach’s femininity
Her entire story in SF3 was that her kid was kidnapped by the illuminati and sh goes all Mama bear on them.
even though Li-Fen is adopted…Chun-Li is cougar milf and we will forever respect her

Yeah, I think the cast could use a bit more diversity but I honestly prefer characters having more authenticity put into them compared to how V handled them.

Like, Capcom couldn't decide where Rashid is supposed to originate from, F.A.N.G. bordered on being offensive, there was more than one character who came from now-non-existing countries for some reason and Menat is the worst you can handle an Egyptian character.

I could have sword Rashid was from the UAE but no, that's just speculation.

And what's wrong with Menat? She's based on Ancient Egyptian mythology. Like yeah, a majority of people in Egypt these days are Muslim but someone like her based more around the ancient customs seams fine.

It's wild that for a game all about World Warriors, Street Fighter still has just the one Indian character and he's not exactly great Indian representation. The whole continent of Africa is also woefully underrepresented and it's wild that the best representation for that region in a fighting game is Nagoriyuki.

They flip-flop on where Rashid is from in the Middle East.
The roster leak for 6 had Rashid next to the Saudi Arabian Flag even though his stage in V is set in UAE

Hey, everyone. It's been a few days since the news of his passing broke, but I deeply appreciate all the condolences and prayers sent to Hat N' Clogs Hat N' Clogs as well as his family and friends.

If anyone is interested in exploring some of Hat N' Clogs Hat N' Clogs works and his legacy, I invite you to read the fan stories he's written for Undertale and other franchises. Hat absolutely loved writing and I know he'd have loved nothing more than for his works to reach a wider audience and resonate with more people. He was especially proud of Wholehearted Half-Souls, an Undertale fanfic with some Deltarune elements originally co-authored by both Hat himself and censorship censorship , later remade into a novelized format with new additions to the story .You can read it and the Origins one-shots he wrote as prequels to the main storyline here:

Hat wrote many other stories as well, and you can find them on AO3 and some of them on Wattpad as well. Please do check them out if you can. I'm certain it would've meant the world to him.

There are a few exceptions. Luigi, Wario, and Bowser have pretty solid personalities outside the RPGs. And there are probably a few others I’m not thinking of rn. But for the most part Mario characters aren’t known for having much…character.
Minor thing but there was Rosalina's storybook in Galaxy as well. That gave Rosalina a bit of character, but generally the Mario cast are blank slates.

She neither a genuine attempt to reflect a modern Egyptian person nor actually has any solid ancient Egyptian practices behind her design. She's just a Red Earth character with orientalist elements slapped onto her to make her seem more exotic.
