Additions: Waluigi, Skull Kid
I added one of, if not, the most requested Nintendo character. For my second newcomer, there were a few options I entertained. I considered between adding a character from the Legend of Zelda or from a Nintendo franchise without a fighter. Narrowing it down further, I was contemplating among Skull Kid, Sidon, Ayumi, and Ring Fit Trainee. Given that most of my Nintendo choices barring Isaac are contemporary/evergreen picks, I decided to add Skull Kid as he is a popular request and choosing something that is slightly different from how I’ve approached the roster so far.

One old, one new. Excitebiker is kind of a staple of my rosters in these games, and I still think they're the most sensible and interesting 'retro' pick available. I wasn't sure if I wanted to subvert with Dragaux or play it straight with Ring Fit Trainee, but I went with Dragaux - assuming for one, I may not have room for Incineroar and I'd like a grappler. But second... idk, that's a lot of reds and oranges on my roster right?? So why not, that'll be my tie breaker.

Adding Ganondorf and Ness here almost rounds out the most prominent Nintendo fighters missing from the roster barring the Miis and Mr. Game & Watch. Min Min and Byleth help bring in the remaining Nintendo fighter pass characters to keep things contemporary. Lucario helps build up the pokemon selection, and personally, it’s the most consistent of the post-Kanto ones. Ryu, Cloud, and Hero help bring forth some supplemental third party fighters,

The unlockable crowd - some of the more Smash-specific weirdos and loose ends reside here. I think this is the right place for the "bonus" picks, those who aren't unanimously essential from a barebones roster standpoint but add a ton of flavor to the mix. K.
