The Official ZOMG Luigi's Tier Position Thread Version 2

Below you’ll find the second official SBR-B Brawl tier list. The previous tier list can be found here:

A tier list is an ordered list of the characters based on their competitive value in the current metagame. It basically shows which characters are currently doing well in tournaments. Note that player skill is more important than character choice and match ups can overcome tier differences, but at an equal player level a bottom tier character will usually have a very tough time against a top tier character. This list will probably change over time, as Brawl is still relatively young and the Melee tiers were debated until the very end. So don’t give up on your character just yet, maybe you’re the one to make a difference!

The list was created by the SBR-B after much heated discussion. For the votes, we had members place the characters in groups from 1 to 15 (15 being the highest) and took the average score for each character. The split was decided by looking at the gaps. As the person supervising it, I’d like to thank all SBR-B members who contributed.

That could be your opinion; but if he has little to no representation on the competitive community/ doesn't place well, then we won't see him rise any higher.

Luigi's issues are all about representation. There aren't very many of us that go to tournaments, let alone place well (I've just barely even begun to start doing well). Look what happened with freaking Peach... people started playing her and she shot right up.

Hawt. That'd be harder to do with Luigi because a lot of people have settled down and begun to start a family. Those who haven't aren't intrigued by him.

Peach is also good, I expected her to go up. Who cares about the tier list, LuigiKing made the correct point. A bunch of good Luigi Mains just can't go to tourneys for various reasons (what little there are). Besides a few, the Luigis who do go to tourneys don't do anything to help with rep.

Yeah he moved up one, but realistically he is just as good or better than all of C and D tier.

I actually don't think of the tier list effecting my skill at all, either you are good or not. I doesn't matter what the list says, if you can use Luigi effectively then you are high tier.

Exactly

However, the biggest impact the tier will have is push people looking for new characters to other higher tiers. Realistically, it hurts Luigi because less people will be trying him out.

Yeah, the tier list is what makes these boards a ghost town. Maybe not the only reason. I just feel that of all the characters I try out, none really stand out to me as high/low tier with the exceptions of MK.

If Ganon doesn't stand out to you as low tier... you have problems

Well, I didn't want to mention people of the low tier, IMO the real just plain bad characters are Jiggs and Ganon.

i got owned by a jiggs on brinstar and it really pissed me off.
