You sir, are in denial. Animal Crossing INTERDUCED gaming to the non-gamer. Besides the millions of copys sold between the first one and Wild World. Plus, I cant say it is proof (it basicly is thou), but the one japense magizine (The name sliped out of my mind) interviewed the creator of animal crossing, and he basicly gave us a clear statement saying the animal crosser is in brawl, clear blue statement. If someone were to post the magizine scan and translation, I would thank them (also the name of the mag).

Plus, I play that game, and it is fun.

I too would like to see this magazine. I had no idea Animal Crossing sold that well.

How am I 'in denial'? I took a glance at the game and I don't know where the **** you're getting these numbers. I mean, it's one of the weirdest concepts for a game, it's not even a real game since all you do is talk to NPCs and do dumb chores. You have odd taste.

Well, considering that Mario games are the core of Nintendo, I don't see how it's a problem that they have a two more representatives. Plus, she is part of the Mario & Luigi: Superstar Saga franchise, so her icon would probably be different as well like a bean or something since she is from Bean Land and whatnot. Ice Climbers will remain to only have one representative cause they only had like, what, one game? There are tons of Mario games, so you have to consider the ratio of games to franchises.

I just mainly thought that having a heavyweight female, a villain-- nonetheless, would be pretty sweet and new, since all females aren't of that classification.

Welcome to the Official Antagonist/Villain/Rival thread! Where you can discuss all the possibilities of new villains/rivals/antagonists to make their debut to Brawl!!!

NOTE: I AM TALKING ABOUT PC's MOSTLY. They could appear as other parts of the game.

Let's recap who we have so far:

1.) Bowser--Mario's long time enemy returns after his debut in Melee. He still seems to be the powerful and slow force he was. One new ability he has is that he can now take his Giga-Bowser form, transforming into any character's worst nightmare, not just Mario's. Bowser has been the main Mario enemy in most of the games in the Super Mario series.

2.) MetaKnight--Kirby will no longer be the lone representative of series now that his rival MetaKnight has joined the brawl. He looks quick with his sword and from some video it appears that he will use his dimensional cape to camoflauge and protect himself from attacks. He will also be able to glide along with Charizard and Pit. He is a fan favorite and a welcomed site to SSBB.

3.) King Dedede--The Kirby series is well represented now that the King of Dream Land has arrived. He is another power character with a very unique jumping ability and his hammer backs more than just a punch. Sadly, his appearance deconfirms Waddle Dee, Doo and Gordo, for they are part of his moveset. King Dedede was the highest on Sakurai's poll.

4.) Wario--After much hope for him in Melee, he now makes his debut in Brawl. However, he will not be a representative of Mario games but rather his own, the Wario Wear series. His moveset includes a motorcycle and his farting power, making him VERY unqiue as well as ill-mannered. His Final Smash is unknown at this time.

The Possibilites???

1.) Ganondorf

He was introduced in Melee with over-whelming success. He is the main villain in many of the Legend of Zelda games. His return is very likely and he will be de-cloned and made to look like his appearance in the Twilight Princess. Hopefully, he will have his sword maybe some dark magic. He will most likely have his tremendous strength back.
Chances of Return: Over 92%.

2.) MewTwo

He was a secret character in Melee and I kind of found him somewhat awkward, but nonetheless, he was there. From what I've viewed in most cartoons, MewTwo is not a very nice pokemon. But with Pikachu headling the series and the introduction of the Pokemon Trainer that includes 3 pokemon, plus the call for other pokemon, such as Lucarino and such, it could hinder his chances of return. He does have a strong fan base, but I'm not too sure how he fits in with Nintendo's plans...
Chance of Return: Over 82%.

3.) Bowser Jr.

Bowser Jr. was first introduced in Super Mario Sunshine as the main villain. He is the spawn of the infamous Bowser, but I don't think he has the great a chance. Of course he won't be a clone, but the Mario series already has 3 reps (Mario, Peach and Bowser), plus its more likely that Luigi will return. So 4 spots filled and I can't imagine anymore than 5 reps for the Mario series, so its Bowser Jr vs. Geno. Let the debate begin. Geno does have an extraordinary command.
Chance of Debut: 65%, under 50% if Geno appears.

4.) Ridley

With King Dedede confirmed, Ridley might be the most anticipated character on this board. He would give the Metroid series some seriously needed representation and he is good enough to be in Brawl, as the Official Ridley Thread has debunked all myths to otherwise. He is a cross between a mantis, pteradactyl and a dragon. He is an infamous space pirate that has been blow to bits by Samus Aran time and time again. There is reason to believe Ridley could be a boss character in SSBB because of some of the music samples posted on Dojo, but I'm confident he will fill the PC role. After all, we can't have just 2 versions of Samus as the lone Metroid reps, right?
Chance of Debut: 70%.

5.) The Black Knight

While many love the physical appearance of the Black Knight, myself included, he does not play an essential role as some of the protagonists, like Marth, Hector, Miaciaha and so forth. He could be an excellent boss battle with Ike. He is a unqie character in terms of his back story, but I think Marth and Miaciaha have a better shot at this time.
Chance of Debut: 45%.

6.) King K. Rool

Many feel that King K. Rool doesn't stand a chance. I'm 50-50 on the guy personally. Let's look at him. He's a major antagonist in almost all, if not all of the Donkey Kong series game. Physically, he's a big fat crocidile and I don't see much muscle on him. However he does have an assortment of vehicles that could be to his advantage. But the problem lies in the fact that he really not that original, especially if Ridley makes the roster. He could still fit in as a boss or part of the story, but not a PC. THEN AGAIN, he could be playable because who said that just because you're part of the subspace story makes you an unplayable character?
Chances of Debut: Right down the middle at 50%.

7.) Wolf O'Donnell

I'm a fan of Wolf, but even I don't see much happening here. Fox is confirmed and I'm thinking maybe 2 other spots remain for reps. 1 will probably go to Krystal. She is female and with a bow-staff could provided a unique fighting style. Plus her large fan base could help her. Then it's between Falco and Wolf. Falco is a pretty big character in the Star Wolf series, but he must de-cloned to reappear. Much like K. Rool, Wolf may not bring any significant originality to the Brawl Roster. He is a main rival of Fox, but will that be enough to win him a spot? There has been a resurgence in his popularity since the Fox alt. costume rumor, but luckily that was squashed faster than my self esteem. I think this is a tough one, hanging on who the next Star Fox rep. to be confirmed is.
Chance of Debut: Maximum 60%. If Krystall appears, 50%. And If Falco returns, under 45%.

8.) Black Shadow

I doubt it. LOL. Although the F-Zero series needs reps, Black Shadow is not the answer. More likely another good guy racer will be debuted for Black Shadow. If he were in the game, he'd have to have his ownn unique moveset obviously, and Blood Falcon could be an AT. It's possible, but I got a feeling Capt. Falcon may be alone once more.
Chance of Debut: Under 50%.

9.) Waluigi

Please stop with Waluigi. He's an assist trophy at best. Now watch, he'll become playable now that I said that. He is unoriginal much like Wolf and K. Rool and he isn't that significant.
Chances of Debut: Under 35%.

10.) Shadow the Hedgehog

A good point had been made about Shadow by ElvishSpirit. Since Sonic is appearing in Mario games (Mario and Sonic at the Olympics, SSBB), this could give some hope to Shadow lovers. But it is still hard to over come the demand of Mega-Man, Pac-Man, Geno, Ray-Man and others, who are deserving of a spot for 3rd party characters. While his chances have increased, I feel that increase is for the future and not the present. Shadow does fit into the rival, or even anti-hero label, and he would some incredible move sets and Final Smash Ideas, maybe in SSB4.
Chances of Debut: 40% and dropping once another 3rd part character is announced.

11.) Claus

He's probably one of the most talked about characters from the Earthbound/Mother gaming series since the news that Lucas had been confirmed. I personally, have almost no knowledge of Claus. He does add to the villain total, which is cool, but the real plus is that after viewing Sakurai's poll, I see him and thus think the Sakurai would add more characters to rep. Mother series. His chances have increased because of Lucas and with Ness not comfirmed yet, both could join and provide a solid rep. lst for the series.
Chance of Debut: 65-75%.

12.) ManBearPig

CLEARLY THE MOST DESERVING CHARACTER OF ALL! With the South Park series clearly in need of representation, who better? His final smash could be:
1.) Stops play and have the characters debate...Mario: He's-a half-a bearman, half-a piggy. Pikachu (english accent): Well, actually sir believe that is quite impossible, for he is obviously half-pigman, half bear. Snake: You guys are dumb. He's half man, half pig, half bear. OR...
2.) Causes a 2 minute clip of Al Gore winning the Nobel Prize to come up on screen. All opponnets get blasted off the screen instantly.
Chances of Debut: 100%...(after vicious reality check: he has the same chances as a snowcone in Phoenix, but come on it's funny)

13.) Jack/Wisp (Jack Pictured)

I don't know alot about Animal crossing other than the stages and Assist Trophies in Brawl. But I can tell you this with confidence that until a hero or protagonist like character from Animal Crossing is brought forth, "Bad guys" such as Jack and Wisp will not be there. The more I look at the series, all I see are Assist Trophies, and no I'm not "hating" on the series, BUT right now I don't see many hero like players other than maybe Tom Nook and KK Slider. But until a main protagonist is confirmed, no "bad guys" for this series. And even if a good guy is there, we still might not get more than one AC rep. In the past, the good guys have seem to debut first, then their enemies and such.
Chances of Debut: Under 25%.

14.) Dark Samus

I've got a bad feeling about this one. Dark Samus has appeared in a few games I believe, most notably Metroid Prime 3: Corruption. While this is a female, villain, something we do not have, this is also a 3rd form of Samus. With Samus and Zamus in place, I would not be surprised to see Dark Samus as an alt. costume, but that still would not deconfirm her as much as Ridley or Kraid would. The Metroid games need more original representation and someone other than Samus...in any form. While I respect this may be a fan favorite, Dark Samus may not have as high chances as we think.
Chances of Debut: 45%, but should Ridley appear, I'm not sure maybe 35%.

15. Kamek

This would be a nice addition in terms of representation from the Yoshi series. Kamek was a magikoopa in Yoshi's Island game. Also according to Wikipedia, he has had various appearances in such games as Super Princess Peach, Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time, Yoshi's Island DS, Mario Party DS (as Game Mage) and in the up coming Super Mario Galaxy as a boss. Even if he is not in the game as playable, I bet we'll see him in the game in some what shape or form, boss, trophy or other wise.
Chances of Debut: Maximum 50%, probably a boss character if anything.

16. Egg Plant Wizard

Egg Plant Wizard is one of those enemies that annoys you on every fortress level of Kid Icarus. He could turn you into an Eggplant via his magic staff and you would have to hunt down the nurse in the game. Although I see the potential for a playable character, I don't know if Nintendo feels the same way. It would be nice to see some sort of reference to another Retro character so I'm hoping for this character to appear in some way. Coming from a classic game like Kid Icarus could help him, but I don't think it buys him a spot.
Chance of Debut: 30-40%.

17. Polar Bear and Topi (Topi Pictured)

Some have asked about an Ice Climbers releated enemy and thus, I provided you with Topi and the Polar Bear. Will either of them be playable? Probably not. Why? They were not the main enemy of the Ice Climbers. In fact, the condor was the main enemy of the Ice Climbers. After scaling their stages, the Ice Climbers would greet the Condor and do battle. If the Condor has to chance at making as a playable character, then neither do these guys. Nintendo will save them for either AT, CT or both.
Chance of Debut: Under 25%.

Well, that's all I've got for now. Feel Free to debate on which Villains/Rivals/Antagonists are likely or unlikely.

The character is one of the key factors in how a GIGANTIC and brilliant franchise turned to well to 'Shadow the Hedgehog'. I mean giving Sonic emo hair, a gun and making him some sort of psuedo-gangster? Imagine you heard that ten years ago. Unbeliveable.

If I or anyone else has to explain to you why Robotnick/Eggman is a better choice than Shadow on every level then you should seek help.

Wow I think you were pretty harsh On K. Rool and plus that pic made him look bad(he looked more like a threat in DK Country) But I would personally like him to finally be in Brawl. I think he can have a decent move set and could have a good level based on him. I also think he is very much needed to represent the DK franchise.

Hahaha, you're funny. Believe it or not, I am one of the biggest Sonic fans ever, I have the whole history of Sonic covered. No one said Shadow is getting Brawl. I know he won't be there. No one needs to explain to me anything about Dr. Robotnik (Eggman if you prefer). He is the major villain in 90% of the Sonic games ever made. He would undoubtly be a character in the game, but because it is MY believe that Nintendo will probably hand out 4 spots on the Brawl roster to 3rd party characters, I believe they will be obviously Sonic, Snake and then Geno and Mega-Man or Bomber-Man. Robotnik will probably be involved in the SSE story line somewhere. But you are correct Robotnik would def be a playable character before Shadow, but I don't think either will be playable in Brawl.

I realize that Robotnik is a huge character. I've followed the cartoons, comics and games enough to figure that out.

No there is love for Vaatti, but I figured Ganondorf kind of holds the top spot for returning Zelda villains. Once Ganondorf if confirmed, I'll probably give the spot up Vaati. I can only have x amount of images on a page, but these characters will be changed to make room for those who actually have a change (removing Topi/Polar Bear/Kamek/Egg Plant Wizard, etc.)

You are correct, she is a unique character, but her chances are slim as I said before due to other characters like Geno and Bowser Jr. She is not impossible to consider, but unlikely.

Agreed DK series needs a 3rd rep. Agreed the picture isn't too hot, but I didn't feel like searching them all day, lol. My intinal reason for being harsh was originality. I mean, we have alot of reptile-esque charcaters: Yoshi, Bowser, the Pokemon Trainer's Pokemon, and with Ridley and Bowser Jr. in such demand, I was skeptical on his chances. However, I don't think that is enough to deconfirm him. And with King Dedede in already, perhaps bad guys have more of a chance than I realized. I'll adjust the % to something slightly better. I too am not a fan of Miles "Tails" Prower either. His voice in Sonic Heroes could not be any worse. Speaking of Sonic Heores, I was upset that Mighty the Armadillo was left out. of the Chaotix team. He had ties to Sonic in the comics and all, but oh well. Sonic Heroes was still a bad a$$ game.

Knuckles would bemy prefered Assist Trophy as well. I think I appreciate Knuckles more because, as I stated I'm a giant nerd and own all the comics, the Knuckles series included, and I prefer his whole back story and history being the guardian of the chaos emeralds. Plus, I kind of think he plays more of a role in the Sonic Games, such as Sonic 3 and of course SOnic and Knuckles...oh and that one for game gear, forgot the name. He would be a cool character in brawl too, but not happening.

I like your idea for Casino Night Stage from Sonic 2 as a playable level. That would be a dream come true. I got a feeling it might be the opening level from Sonic 1 or a level from the Sonic Adventure series.

I too prefer Dr. Robotnik over Eggman, but whatever. Robotnik should def be a villain in the game and as you may hav noticed, I made an edit on the opening post of this thread, for the both of us, lol.

Also for the record...in the Character Icon Support thread, they got some awesome Icons made by Vesperview and other members. He's NOT taking request anymore, but he did leave a how-to page up there to show you how to make them. These are just some of the awesome ones I got from the guys on that forum, Vesperview made my Ristar custom...

See, there's a Ridley one and if anyone can learn how to make them for other villains, you'd be doing the forum a great favor. I'd do it, but my family is working on photoshop as we speak so Im screwed right now.

No Black Knight and you've got a good list, what about skull kid, he was the main antagonist in Majora's Mask.

I can go either way with Skull Kid, I wouldnt mind if he was in but if he wasnt I wouldnt complain. The only thing is if Ganondorf and Vaati get in then Skull Kid would be a third Zelda Villain. However I always thought of a event match where you had to fight as Link and fight Ganondorf Vaati and Skull Kid. However having the 3 of them may overpopulate

Some of you have been asking "What about character X?" alot and I am here to reply as nicely as I can. Please do not take this the wrong way. I try to incorporate as many character as I can, but I am not here to appease everyone. I am really trying to only select charatcers that many feel would actually be worthwile having the game. I try to select the villains/rivals and such based on the following criteria:

1.) Significance in gaming series
2.) Originiality
3.) Representation for certain games that lack a high number of representation (over/under population)

Which I feel is very fair. I won't lie, I have personal favorites, but I do my best to leave it out. I also do my best to be realistic with my predictions and I feel I've been pretty good about that, ManBearPig included.

So if I really missed someone important, let me know and I'll research it. Don't give me goombas, egg plant wizards, koopas, waddle dees, robot wasps from Sonic games, etc.

Also, I know alot of people ramble on about "WHOO sez ther can nly B 1/2/3/4/5/6 REP.S 4um a gammeee!?!?!?!?!" Well, I'm using my logic, which I believe most people share and believe that Nintendo will not drown us in a certain game series.

Many feel that King K. Rool doesn't stand a chance. I'm 50-50 on the guy personally. Let's look at him. He's a major antagonist in almost all, if not all of the Donkey Kong series game. Physically, he's a big fat crocidile and I don't see much muscle on him. However he does have an assortment of vehicles that could be to his advantage. But the problem lies in the fact that he really not that original, especially if Ridley makes the roster. He could still fit in as a boss or part of the story, but not a PC. THEN AGAIN, he could be playable because who said that just because you're part of the subspace story makes you an unplayable character?

I think K. Rool is getting more respect now than you realize. I at first didn't give him much respect until after King DDD got in and I heard a bunch of good arguments for him. I am not saying he's a clone of Bowser or others. My initial thought was we may have too many reptile like bad guys with bowser and ridley and then pokemon, all these reptiles might get old, but now im sure that isnt much of an argument at this point.

I've got to say that wow, this thread is like so well done. And I favor the villains of Smash anyday over the good guys. There needs to be like a good 2 weeks that Sakurai delivers nothing but villain updates. That would be really sweet!

so glad more villians show up in this ssb cause honostly the coolest toons in most games are the villians, and we only get to fight them

On a side note, I've been researching alot of the games and I'm not coming up with anything good for spot #17. So if anyone's got a good suggestion, let me know. Who knows it might make for a good debate.
