I think it's important that we discuss good/great counterpick stages to choose when you wanna help out your Samus. So far, I'm thinking that stages like Delfino Plaza with alot of room are favorable to Samus. Discuss?

Umm I thought the stage with all the leaves with the music and the fish jumping from the water was a good stage when you're samus. Especially if you are fighting someone slower than samus.

I hate Delfino Plaza with a passion. There's way too many alterations on that stage. Of course, it's fun to d-air people who are in the water, because they're defenseless, and you can KO them that way. The same goes for the Great Sea. The stages I like are Yoshi's Island, Battlefield, and Smashville. In the last two stages, I am able to distance myself by going under the stage and getting to the other side. Furthermore, what's beneficial for Samus in all three of these stages are the platforms. If someone is standing on them, you can use your u-tilt, u-smash, u-air, and f-air, as well as the z-air. I also like Frigate Orpheon for the same reasons. Any stage that has these are good for Samus, in my opinion.

1. Battlefield = The ledges have some nice trick plus the platforms help for doing air moves. The ledges don't get in the way for Zair/missiles
2. Lylat Cruise = Trust me, if you can master not gimping yourself, this level is awesome. It's like Battlefield except not many people play on it, and in fact most people I talk to hate it. That means, with a little practice on getting use to the platforms and tilted level, you will have a nice edge on other players.
3. Norfair = This stage is awesome for any character with a tether or bad recovery. It also has so many ledges that it is easy to pull of air attacks. There is a lot of room, so Samus can spam with ease. Samus can also spike in between the platforms.
4. Battleship Halbird = This stage has a thin floor at the start, which is good for some tricky U+B or air attacks from below. The 2nd half is razed high so Samus' best KO move, Dtilt, works at lower percents. The platform in the middle is position well too.

I really don't like Yoshi's because the tilted platform messes up my missles. Also the side platforms make it hard to spike. Smashville is ok and same with Final Destenation. They just really don't add much cept Samus can bounce off the side of Final Destenation. Delfeno is also an ok stage. Just countering it for the water isn't worth it. A lot of Samus' KOs are from Dtilt which KOs up. Delfeno is all about side KOs.

Lylat Cruise has tilted platforms. And the entire stages rocks to the left or to the right.

I agree with Lylat Cruise. Wut about Jungle Japes? the ceiling is high and Samus can use the tether to get to platforms quickly.

You have to watch out where you can use z-air. Sometimes you'll end up tethering to an unnecessary edge.

Battlefield is by far my favorite Samus stage. Perfect distances for spacing, perfect edges for game play off the stage, 3 platforms for combo's to your hearts desires (with u-air, up-b, u-tilt).

Corneria is pretty amazing. Someone counterpicked me this stage once and they ended up getting 3 stocked by all the awesome tricks samus has on the right side of the stage, up-b, grapple, random moves for fun.

Yoshi's is ok but i'd rather not because you can't get back on stage with an attack (like fair).
HATE jungle japes, kills zair.

Battlefield is my best stage since platforms let you combo more easily. I also love canceling screw attack on the top platform. Samus has a slow falling speed so being able to land sooner on a platform is helpful for canceling aerials and such. Frigate Orpheon is also nice because you can actually land utilts on the right side of the stage.

I've come to appreciate Battlefield when I saw Tudor play on that stage. It is, indeed, a wonderful stage for Samus. Tudor is right, that with those platforms, you can use whatever attack you wish. F-airs, u-airs, z-airs, and u-smashes are excellent. I like to use u-tilt sometimes, since my opponent will fly upward.

I agree with you, 0RLy, regarding Frigate Orpheon. I'm glad I selected that stage tonight. I brawled with a friend of mine, and he was Captain Falcon. I got my butt kicked by him the last time I played, but tonight, I still had two lives left (it was a four-stock match). It sure helped me out a lot, especially with the platform on the left side where it would lower down. That u-tilt also came in handy for edge-guarding.
