What's good everyone? I'm Ame...well, at least that's what I used to go by. These days I go by Tempestt. I've been running tournaments in PA for a little over a year now, and things have been going well. The tournaments have had a bunch of names before, but for 3 going on 4 tournaments, it's gone by the name Smash Like You Mean It. The Acronym S.L.Y.M.I. was created for it. (Pronounced like you would slimy) The tournaments are held at a venue named "The Game Gallery" in Easton, PA. With the change of owners, things have gotten more lively. The owner is a competitive gamer himself, and provides a great atmosphere complete with arcades and games ranging from Atari to now. The location of the store makes for a great place as there's just about anything you need in walking distance. (McDonald's, Wawa, Dunkin Doughnuts, Subway, 2 different Chinese restaurants, Pizza places, Burger joint, various other cultured foods, and a cafe right next door, plus a dollar store on either side, an ice cream place across the street, and a frozen yogurt place...also essentially across the street.) Not to mention a host of other places within a short drive. (A bigger Wawa, Walmart, Bottom Dollar, Rite Aid, Walgreens, more restaurants, etc.) There's a hotel that's also a quick 5 minute walk away from the venue as well.

We're currently working on expanding the space in the venue to allow for more room for setups and such. (Also the breaker, etc.) I also have a plan for a tournament later this year involving Baconfest. (Yes, it's real.) So that's about it!! You guys can talk about stuff that you'd like to see, ideas for events, or even make a request of the owner on stuff. He's always open to ideas. Also, if there's a specific date you would like to see an event happen, then let me know here, too. Just so you guys know, I'm not bias against any game, so if you want it, then bring the crowd, and we'll play it. Things are gonna get real good from here on out.

-Happy Gaming-

Pools are only used so they can make bracket go faster when theres alot of players. no need to do pools if theres only like 20

As far as pools are concerned, they'll happen as things move forward. I remember the old days when we had an amazing amount of time to do pools, and RR pools. Back in the SPOC days, that is. Then again, we only had Melee teams and singles to handle. This series will only get bigger. I'll let you know if we do pools depending on the projected turn-out. This year should bring quite a bit. Heck, I have one even that I want to do that's a 2-day.

I have more announcements to make before the week is out. So hold on to your hats, kiddies!! There's a bunch of stuff to come, and I'm excited to offer it. Outside of pools, what other suggestions/concerns do you guys have?

Yesterday was really fun. Just onething was that the lack of space got in the way of playing friendlies and chairs.

Space thing was unexpected because of the surprise Arcade machine being where it wasn't supposed to. (Outrun actually wasn't even supposed to be there. so more room) That, and Angel had a slightly different set up in mind, but he was held up due to business matters.

The chairs, well that'll be taken care of, too. We hit nearly 50 people that showed up. Actually, there probably was about 50 since some played friendlies but had no intention of entering. That would be the first time we've run out of chairs. Thanks for the feedback.

The OP has been updated with the next event. I'm just saying now....this one should be the best yet.

Edit: I'm putting a call out to PA for this. So that means any active area of PA should be out there to prove themselves. Whether it's Melee or PM. When it comes to PM- Easton is laying down the challenge to ANYONE in PA.

Angel actually has a projector already. We used it at S.L.Y.M.I. 4. As far as the back room is concerned, he's trying to get a good set up for that, too. Last time, I guess we had difficulties getting signal in that room in particular. So, I think he's going to try and switch the setup again.
