Mother Characters

I'm gonna lump this together, because there isn't really one specific character. Essentially, the entire party of Mother 2, Ninten from Mother 1, and Lucas, Claus, and Kumatora from Mother 3 all popped up on Sakurai's poll. Claus got a bigger deal of attention, considering his "LOL SECRET," and Sakurai, who DID WORK ON MOTHER 3 *hint hint*, mentioned amongst the letters that he would be including stuff from the game. Now, firstly, he confirmed in Famitsu that Mother 3 music was appearing in Brawl. Secondly, he confirmed that had EB2/64/M3 been released pre SSB64, Ness would've been replaced by Lucas. He even held out for it to be released prior to Melee, to try and put in Lucas then. So, now that Lucas is out, what happens to Ness....?

The problem with Poo is that his psychic moves are kind of similar to Ness's. They could give him PK Freeze, PK Brainshock (got any idea what that might do in Brawl?) and maybe PK Starstorm as a Final Smash. Should he be a martial artist, or use his Sword of Kings?

But I still think that someone like Lucas or Flint would be preferable to Poo. Now Jeff on the other hand...

i think poo would use predominately martial arts, with physics for his b moves. and you could also give him pk shield or pk lifeup, those would own. and i don't think he would use the sword of kings. and jeff would be ok but poo is funnier

poo is one of ness's allies. he is a martial artist with the strongest physic move in the game pk starstorm, and he has a hilarious name. and i think even if ness isn't in brawl, they have to add poo or jeff, mainly because the mother 3 character all look the same and are incredibly bland compared to earthbound characters

A character's name is NOT going to cause them to not appear in Smash Bros. If that were the case, they never would have been able to name him Poo for EarthBound.

I'ma make a bold claim here...

If they add another EarthBound character to Brawl, POO IS THE PERFECT CHARACTER FROM THE SERIES TO ADD. Here's why:

In Melee, the addition of the way Zelda/Sheik and the Ice Climbers played seemed to be, more than anything, a test for a new, unique type of player character. You can tell that this is something they are still interested in for Brawl by looking at Pokémon Trainer and the way he plays.

The reason Poo would be such a great character is because of his special move "Mirror". Some fighting games have characters that have the ability to either randomly use any of the playable characters' fighting styles, or the ability to become other characters and mimic their move set. In EarthBound, Poo has this exact ability, and while I can't say that it's of particular use in the game, it could be an amazing addition to Smash Bros. What better way to show people that you're a master of the game than to use Poo, become your opponent's character, and whip them using whoever they decide to choose?

If it wasn't for this move, I would probably expect Paula over Poo. And even though Jeff received more votes than Poo on Sakurai's poll, I think the possibilities with this ability are too good to pass up.

I think they'll go with the younger of the two different Pokeys, if they decide to put him in, because it's the Pokey both Japane and America are familiar with. Although, the older Pokey might be an alternate costume...

I always felt like you didn't really get to be with Poo as long as you were with Jeff and Paula. He kinda joins you half way through the game then he leaves to learn that move of his.

Either way yeah Poo for brawl, besides Ness i think Poo had a real big roll in the game but of course no where near as big as Paula.

Also it sucks how mother 3 will never come to America

well all the same i think he'd fit in well with the character balance and whatnot

im not sure what types of attacks lucas will have or if ness will have all his own types of attacks instead of borrowing from his party members but all the same poo would definetly be the power heavy hitter to balance them all out -- likely he'll appear?? about as much as geno but sometimes the truth hurts us all
