@Lokii - Unfortunately, I'll be in Kentucky/Tennessee from the 23rd until the 30th. D: I really miss you guys and the rest of OH though, I'll definitely be trying to travel more in August and during the school year since this might be my easiest year of college yet.

@Tech_Chase - Awesome. As you can see on the front page, we aren't a very sexy bunch so we need you to balance us out. lul

@SharkAttack - You have been missed. Hopefully we'll be welcoming you back very soon. lol

Also...expect some bi-monthly Melee/Brawl charity tournaments this year hopefully starting in late September. Payouts will be in gift cards though due to the University's Policy. x_x

It's probably going to stay on Wednesdays for the first few weeks. There's a strong possibility I may move it to Friday after that, depending on if it interferes with Magic: The Gathering Night and Board Game Night. I like to keep a good relationship with the Gaming Club since they had a hand in starting SoS as well.

@TheKiest: I want to carpool NWOH to Cleveland/Cbus/Cinci, but my car is **** right now and I don't feel safe travelling 2+ hours with a full car. The only other drivers we have are Melee players right now. :x

i was talking to one of my bb friends and he suggested i should do a small side tournament with a reasonable reward (maybe like $50) at one of the gatherings just so i can try to build a scene in toledo.

Also, expect the first week to have relatively low turnout. It'll probably just be the regulars from last year since we haven't gotten the chance to advertise too much.

My brother and i live in Toledo, and used to love Smash. We stopped when brawl came out and our friend who was slightly better than us moved away.

Maybe we'd come since he still wants to play ,but i always turn him down because we have no one better than us anymore to strive to beat. Also never new of any communities or tournaments so we had to reason to get good.

@Shark - Brad Falcon lives fairly close to UT, he's just going to community college this year. I can imagine he'll still visit from time to time. As for Kev, he lives far away but plans to make visits to UT on a few Wednesdays throughout the year.

@Cloverlane - We'd love to see you and your friends come out. :D We have competitive players who go to tournaments monthly (roughly) and those who just play for fun/for the lulz/socially. Melee is more popular here than Brawl, but there are a handful of us who still play it. I'm trying to get some stuff started this year as far as local tournaments, but we usually travel to Ann Arbor, MI which is 45 minutes from here.

As far as serious business:

-Keep checking this thread for the meeting time. We may be starting at 8:30-8:45 this week due to a possible gaming club meeting. This'll happen every 2 weeks.

-We may be moving to an actual room this year. Not one of the small, cramped ones, but an actual huge one. Like the one we used for BASHDay last year. I'll try my best...otherwise I guess the South Lounge will work fine.
