Nintendo had so much confidence on the IP they made a sequel before making the original game.

Lots of Wii U games got ported to Switch, Mario Kart 8 is technically a Wii U game and large portions of the soundtrack originate from the Wii U title, but why add the original instead of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe when the Switch version has more songs?

Same goes for stuff like Splatoon 1, a portion of the songs originating in that game were brought back and remixed for Splatoon 2 and 3. A lot of these games just have their soundtracks eaten up by Switch ports or sequels.

I guess we still have Nintendo Land... but there are some other games I'd like to see first.

Same goes for stuff like Splatoon 1, a portion of the songs originating in that game were brought back and remixed for Splatoon 2 and 3. A lot of these games just have their soundtracks eaten up by Switch ports or sequels.

Splatoon 2 only remixes like, somewhere between three to five songs from Splatoon 1 (I don't know the number by memory so it might be higher but point is it's a small part of the OST). Everything else from both games is fully original. It's not enough for me to say the first one is invalidated from being in the app.

Heck, every song in the series is in S3's jukebox and they systematically left out everything not original to S3 in the S3 selection, making it clear they want the three games to be separate.

By your logic, what would be the point of bothering with the other games when Splatoon 3 has everything in the first place?

Well, I'm making another prediction.

Since launch, we've gotten a Switch game, an SNES game, a Wii Game, an N64 game and a DS game. They haven't repeated a console just yet. I think they're trying to add one soundtrack to each console before starting the cycle again. That would mean that tomorrow's song will either be... an NES game a Game Boy game, a Game Boy Advance game or a GameCube game.

Yes this means I'm predicting Wind Waker again. I'll eventually be right, lmao.

Punch-Out was in the NES because Super Punch-Out was in the Super NES

Well, it's not like they don't have Wii U games. Mario Kart 8 just has its soundtrack absorbed into 8 Deluxe's and BotW is just labelled as a Switch game.

3DS is probably not quite old and not quite new so it's probably not hitting much from a recency or history perspective. I imagine we'll get to it eventually.

Now Virtual Boy, that's a console that would be interesting to see.

I really want the ACTUAL zelda main them as its own theme I dont really care which version (although maybe not pixelated for others sake)
I take Majoras Masks version! If you gave me a choice which 3d zelda they should do next 100% Majoras mask for termina field alone!
But i think the ideal choice wouldve been to launch the app with LINKS AWAKENING while that soundtrack is less iconic its modern and has one of the best versions of the main theme which shouldve been a requirment tbh!

I currently have one singular mario kart track that being the zelda course theme because that is currently my only semi decent option!

They put ****ing Brain Age over classics like Mario 3, Mario World, Link to the Past or Pokémon Gen 1.

I don't think there's an order of priority in this app. I think it's more like throwing darts and seeing what they land on.

I WOULD say there could be licensing issues with TPC, but the app has the soundtrack from Scarlet & Violet. The Pokemon game with an Ed Sheeran song.

If they can get that, it shouldn't be a problem for the Pokemon games that don't have celebrity composers. Which is...all the others.

Scarlet and Violet is the only reason I listed Gen 1, to be fair.

Either way, my point was that throwing an order of priority argument is very funny because it implies Brain Age OST is more important than Wind Waker.

I can't think of anyone who would hear both OSTs and genuinely think that, which is why I countered that there's no rhyme or reason in the selection process.

If one of them wins, then maybe, but Nintendo doesn't usually do stuff with TGA. Especially this year, it seems: pretty sure only one of those games got more than one nomination.

Listening Splatoon 2's soundtrack has really opened my eyes to how hit or miss the Splatoon soundtracks are. They're full of absolute bangers and absolute annoyances, with nothing in between.

I usually only remember the bangers but there's a lot of songs I actively dislike on the soundtrack.

With the Holiday Season arriving, one thing I'd like to see added would be seasonal playlists. For Christmas/Winter Holidays, add a Festive playlist with music from snow levels. For Halloween add a spooky playlist with music from ghost levels. For Spring add a playlist with music from garden levels. For Summer, add a playlist with music from beach/tropical levels. For non Halloween parts of Autumn, say November, add a autumn playlist with music from autumn levels. And for February, add a playlist with music from romantic moments in games.

There's a ripe amount of potential here.
