With the "legend of Spyro" trilogy ending and FINALLY making a comeback for spyro ("A Hero's Tail" was what ruined Spyro btw. TOTAL peice of crap!), I'm eager to see what's in store for us purple dragon fans next.

Please use this thread to either:

-Post news on the next game
-Discuss what would be wanted and/or expected in the next title
-Discuss anything else having to do with the spyro series or any other dragon game

And please, no hate posts about Spyro or dragons. If you hate Spyro or dragons, I don't need to know about it.

Um...isn't this a theoretical topic? I suppose it's not completely, but if you want to talk about Spyro, you should just make this a Spyro topic, not specifically about the next one, until it's announced.

I love the original Spyro games that were developed by Universal before Sierra ****ed them up, (also Crash Bandicoot) truly it was an awesome series back then, I would say the original Spyro the Dragon game was my all time favorite Spyro game.

I can easily say that the original three (particularly the first two) are the best in the series, for obvious reasons.

Seeing as how the official Spyro website is so "make-your-own-dragon" themed, perhaps the next title could be more of a sandbox game. After the bombing of Dawn of the Dragon, however, it doesn't look like the series has much more going for it. I still love Spyro as a character, but the series has been constantly going downhill, and it's a shame, because they have a strong voice cast now.

I havent played a Spyro since the PS games because of the lack of quality, but dang were those good(this can also be said about Tomb Raider and Crash Bandicoot)

I actually don't see why everyone is saying that Dawn of the Dragon is a bad game. I for one think it's one of the best Spyro games of all (The original three ROCKED). I think that Dawn of the Dragon is actually a great game to reboot the Spyro games. The flying ROCKS! Even though you have a controlled flying hight to the ground, it's still pretty cool.

Anyways, I really think that the next game should have some form of customization (Even though it would have to somehow still be about Spyro).

Enter the Dragonfly is more crappy then A Hero's Tail. It was this game who originally removed alot of old traditional Spyro elements, such as the use of "world portals". Spyro aHT is also bad, but IMO it was Spyro EtD who started ruining the Spyro franchise.

I someday wish to see a real Spyro comeback game tho, made me sad with the whole LoS history, as it was a complete reboot to the series. Havnt played the actual games tho, so I wont comment on the story/gameplay.

The original 3 were too good. I was disappointed after they removed rolling after the first one. And replaced it with NOTHING. 2 and 3 were still awesome. Those were the only games that I CLEARED. I did that out of sheer curiosity. Great games. Gnorc was still the best bad guy. Ripto was the most hilarious.

I completely cleared the original two, but never got the chance to do so with Year of the Dragon.

I need to pick those games up sometime.

I only have 2 Spyro games- Enter the Dragonfly and Spyro+Crash Fusion.
Enter the Dragonfly is an okay game, but it's loading times are terrible, and some of the levels just aren't fun.
The Fusion games are okay, but Crash Fusion is the better of the two.

I've played a demo of 3 by the secret demo on Crash Bash, and I really enjoyed that, so if the whole game was as fun as that, then it must have been good.
The demo had a skateboard level, a level with Sgt. Byrd, and some other levels.

I've seen A new beginning, and it doesn't seem that good. My sister has it, who is terrible at games :p, and she finished it in 2 days, so that goes to show how easy/ short it is.

Same here, I never quite picked up the 3rd one myself, I've played the demo though numerous times though, so I already have an idea how it's like. I plan to get Enter the Dragonfly since it was actually developed by Universal and not Sierra, but then again some of you guys are critizing this game a little too harshly so i'm really not sure at this point.

Enter the Dragonfly can be fun if you don't try your hardest to pick out the flaws, or constantly compare everything to the originals.

However, the main problems are the loading screens- if you've played Crash The Wrath of Cortex then you know what the loading time is like.

Also, it is a bit glitchy in some areas, but the worst that has happened was that the game froze.

I'd recommend you at least try it if you can get it cheap, but you should only play it 1 world every few days, as the loading screens will drive you insane.

Long loading screen huh? Yes I've played Wrath of Cortex before and let me tell you I was a bit dissapointed by the loading time, but it's not that big a deal, as long as the game is good, game wise, then waiting a bit shouldn't really be a problem for me, just as long as it doesn't freeze up.
