We have this video forum, but with the way it's set up, it can be tricky to find the right videos some times. This thread will organize all of that, so you'll be able to find the right videos in just a few clicks. Videos will be organized by match-ups. Some videos (hopefully all of them soon) will have notes that highlight important points of the video and specific things to look for.

If anyone has any suggestions for improvement, or just wants to recommend videos to be included, feel free to post and I'll do what I can! :]

Match-up:

- indicates there are not yet any videos for this character
+ indicates new videos have been added for this character

Mr.R vs. V115 - Impulse (starts at 3:43:00)

It really shows how to beat up her recovery and shows the dangers of dsmash including instances of how to beat it, while remaining mostly safe.
Additionally, this is one of the first times Ramin started to really go in on his grab game more. It has a wonderful use of DB and perfectly timed speedhugs to force downBs.
He has trouble with nB, but not so bad that it detracts away from the overall value of the match. he also shows somewhat efficient ways of getting around ZSS's sideB zoning. He shows you just how punishable utilt is on Marth's shield too in G4 about 56:40 he punishes a utilt on shield w/ a partially charged SB. While not the best punishment, it does show how much time you have. Utilt is amazing because of its start-up speed.

Mr.R vs TKD - E4UC

C.J. said:
Excellent showing of how to handle Fox offstage.
Aggressive play, while remaining safe, diminishes the usefulness of lasers.
The platform helps Ramin recover from otherwise very difficult positions and helps hit Fox’s weak recovery/landing options. While Fox will likely always be able to recover, he will usually take a lot of damage in the process. Ramin shows this .
Since fox can alter his fall speed and reset his FF with shine, juggling from below is much less rewarding than staying at an angle. 3:20 shows what can easily go wrong juggling from below
Whiffing aerials can easily get you dash attacked so knowing when to swing your sword is super important- esp at kill %s when the dash attack turns into a usmash.
Does a great job w/ DS to punish multi-hit moves
TKD recognizes this and becomes more defensive when he lands a multihit move to try to bait the DS for a larger punish than the follow-up he might get otherwise.
While Ramin doesn’t do it, it is very obvious when knowing the DS regrab trick, and using it, would have netted Ramin a stock.
At higher %s, esp noticeable in G5 1st stock, Ramin knows Fox wants the kill (usmash) and shields a lot more, trying to bait the usmash by doing seemingly unsafe move options. He proceeds to tack on a lot of damage in the process. Eventually, TKD is forced to just grab.

I really like this idea. Along with some explanations and/or analysis, this could be a goldmine of knowledge for many players.
I'm really looking forward for this thread to have some actual input.

Sort of. It has to be top-level, of course, but needs to show the match-up properly from both sides. If it's just Mike destroying mid-level MK or Snake or something, that won't work. C.J. is helping me out a lot with this, so we'll take a look at the vids and decide if they're fit. Of course, if anyone else has a problem with a video that's up, feel free to voice your dissent and we can discuss what makes it good/bad. Certainly, all suggestions are welcome.

Also, I just put up a few videos, including:

MikeNeko vs Brood (Olimar)
Leon vs DEHF (Falco)
Mr. R vs ESAM (Pikachu)
Mr. R vs V115 (ZSS) *
Mr. R vs King Toon (Toon Link)
Mr. R vs MJG (Toon Link)
Mr. R vs TKD (Fox) *
Mr. R vs SlayerZ (Peach)

*Big thanks to C.J. for typing up some notes on the videos. Be sure to read them!

Quit thanking me/giving me credit
><

Actually, everyone should make their own comments on the matches and say why they think they're a good example of the MU.

It'll be good for you to do so!

I guess that this require 2 stages:
First comes sorting all the videos for every match up (at least one, but it won't hurt two or more for different views).

Then, the discussion of every video for some notes and/or any corrections so there's no room for mistakes or misconceptions, also it could have some explanations for some mindgames, baits and shenanigans.

Then we can develop a match up discussion for better coverage and stuff

Well, I know that's a lot but I believe it would be worth trying

I'll watch everything when I get my notebook back though =(

@Jeos, there's no reason why we can't do both of those at the same time. It might get a bit hectic if we have too many discussions going on at once, but we can deal with that if/when it happens.

@Kyo, I don't think Pierce has had a recorded set (save for the one against Rich this weekend) in quite a while. I was going to post up MikeNeko vs Nietono from SRBT 1-1, but he loses the set, so I wanted to write up notes to go with any losing sets. However, feel free to find whatever videos you think need to be put up and write your own notes for them! :bee:

Just so people know, this isn't a one-man project. I'm just the one organizing it all :]

I actually liked that Pierce vs Rich set (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXnrOg5ucjQ) he lost, but he surely knew what to do against Olimar: he mixed his landing options after performing a Fair, and mixed Dancing Blade timings to get the best against Olimar's shield (that is actually pretty weak, as his grab is pretty slow).
Match 1 was pretty close at some point but then RB started figuring Pierce's game and read it well. Then Pierce picked Lylat and got Pikmin *****.

btw, I'm bad at taking notes out of matches, specially when it comes to Marth... I'd help but it is just not exactly my strongest talent...

Okay, you're going to have to give a LOT of support for that one. All I saw was Pitbull recovering terribly, Mike trolling a LOT, Pitbull being ridiculously outplayed, I didn't see anything from Pitbull in terms of catching Marth's landings, I didn't see and DACUS's vs the obvious jumps.

I literally can't see anything in the match, at all, that would make it a good example of how to play the MU.

Now, it could go into the "other" section for underused ledge options/something like that. @ 2:06 Mike does wavebounced DB1 off of a ledgejump. It's relatively safe since the "bounce" puts space between you and the opponent when you hit shield. You can hitconfirm into an aerial/more hits of DB. It's really good vs MK since it'll beat Nado as DB is trancended. It's a good way to mix-up your jump height depending on how late/early you input the DB so that you can alter vertical spacing to attempt to avoid a ledge trap from the opponent while on the ledge. And so forth.
