Oh wow, I found a better pictures fitting

- Old men are perverts.

AND

If a 30 year old robot looking at a 5 month old robot like that isn't perverted, I dunno what is.

-Note: the above models aren't mine. My 00 model doesn't look like that and I'm not shelling 40 bucks for a OYW RX-78-2 MG..yet-

I don't know what all those genres (shonen etc.) mean. I have also only fully read one manga (Elfen Lied, helluva lot more detailed than the anime, but the ending was kinda weird and I liked the anime better)
But I've seen a decent number of anime.

I shall now talk about my all-time favorite!

Higurashi no naku koro ni

It's more of a horror/psychological thriller than a fighting anime. Let's see if it fits in these laws:

- If someone transforms mid-fight, that means they're at ten times more powerful then they were before. Regardless of how stupid they may look.
irrelevant to this anime

- A character isn't truly pissed until something has happened to their hair.
not here
- The fight isn't over until the bad guy's castle collapses.
castles don exits
- Crazier the hair, the more important the character is to the plot.
they have some unusual hair, but nothing really crazy.

- If the hero is loosing a fight to a bad guy, he will pull some kind of power out of his *** at the last moment.
mostly irrelevant
...except for one moment I can think of, lol

- If a character looks like a woman, acts like a woman, sounds like a woman, but isn't wearing skimpy clothes, then it's a guy.
doesn't exist in this show

- Old men are perverts.
none of that in here

- Hair comes in every shade of the rainbow.
This is true, but is that a bad thing?

- Supernatural teenage girls with an unreasonable bust are attracted to nerds.
XD this is true for most other anime.

- There's always room for fan service.
There is some of it, but most of it is in the "OVAs"

- Bad guys will stand around to wait for you while you charge your attack.
*shrug* like I said it's not really a fighting show

- The fate of the world is always left in the hands of a seemingly normal Japanese High School boy.
hmmm...

- The bigger the sword, the more powerful it is.
:o

- The more bad guys there are, the more likely they are to miss.
haha

- Heroes cannot be killed or defeated by henchmen.
hm

- The final battle will always drag out for ten or more episodes.
naw

- Leave the world-saving to teenagers, angst gets to job done faster than without.
true story

- At least one main character will either die, leave the group, or betray the heroes.
no comment

seriously though, watch this anime. SO good. Pretty gruesome though so be warned.
Also, you don't really understand wtf is happening until season 2

I was going to use the laws on The World Ends With You for the DS (based on Heartz' idea), but the final post ended up having a ton of spoiler tags.

In short, I concluded that very few of the laws apply to TWEWY, and the ones I tried to fit I had to stretch quite a bit. Thus, TWEWY doesn't suffer from the anime stereotype in its characters or plot.

but a pig in the sun
I find it sad that I've been on this site for 3 years, and only about 3 or so people have been able to spell my name right.

I think you're a great guy and I respect you. But I have read a **** load of both Shoenn (Didn't spell it right, don't care) and Shojo manga and I've seen a **** load of Shoenn and Shojo anme. They are always about that. I personally think that Shojo can go die in a fire, so I prefer shoenn series. But whatever, you still get what I'm saying. And yes, I'm sorry to say this but most of it is crap, as I've said, I've watched and read a **** load of it and here are the only ones I've ever liked.

Anime:

One Piece
Dragonball Z
Black Cat
Devil May Cry
Case Closed

Manga:

Yu-Gi-Oh
Rave Master
Trigun
Death Note
Shaman King

Sorry, but liking only ten out of.... I have no idea how much I've seen, I lost count.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and Fullmetal Alchemist for anime.
Sturgeon's law states that 90% of everything is crap. Sadly, this applies to Anime as well.
Although I like a lot more Anime and Manga than that, and certainly more than how many western shows I like, so Different strokes then, I guess.

Also, sorry for semi-necropost, but I just had to do this with Jojo's Bizarre Adventure.

- If someone transforms mid-fight, that means they're at ten times more powerful then they were before. Regardless of how stupid they may look.

- A character isn't truly pissed until something has happened to their hair.
Haven't seen that yet.

- The fight isn't over until the bad guy's castle collapses.

nope, still standing even when
Dio dies.

- Crazier the hair, the more important the character is to the plot.

How does he even keep his hair that straight?

I'm always expecting his hair to shoot something.

- If the hero is loosing a fight to a bad guy, he will pull some kind of power out of his *** at the last moment.
too much to count

- If a character looks like a woman, acts like a woman, sounds like a woman, but isn't wearing skimpy clothes, then it's a guy.

Minus the skimpy clothes part.

- Old men are perverts.

Joseph Joestar: The only dirty old man who actually gets lucky.
- Hair comes in every shade of the rainbow.
Kinda hard to tell, since JJBA doesn't have a "True" color palette.(Their palettes, including their hair color, change pretty much every cover.)
- Supernatural teenage girls with an unreasonable bust are attracted to nerds.

Believe me when I say it's not nearly as romantic as it looks.
- There's always room for fan service.

(And no, he's not actually his father)

I swear to god, I love this manga. Really.

- Bad guys will stand around to wait for you while you charge your attack.
none of that here. Bad guys in JJBA are a lot more conservative.

- The fate of the world is always left in the hands of a seemingly normal Japanese High School boy.

As you can tell, Jotaro is pretty far from being anywhere near normal.

Josuke is more like a typical high-school delinquent though.

- The bigger the sword, the more powerful it is.
not many big swords here.

- The more bad guys there are, the more likely they are to miss.
Battles in JJBA rarely exceed more than 3 people at a time.

- Heroes cannot be killed or defeated by henchmen.
Depends on what you mean by "Henchmen." Plenty of characters are killed by henchmen, but they're mostly higher-up henchmen.
- The final battle will always drag out for ten or more episodes.

****
- Leave the world-saving to teenagers, angst gets to job done faster than without.
Kind of applies to part 5 I guess.

- At least one main character will either die, leave the group, or betray the heroes.
Once again, too much to count.

lol, epic image post.
