Aren't you tired of going into support topics and saying their character doesn't deserve to be playable and should be an Assist Trophy just because they don't fit to your arbitrary standarts?

Of course, I'm not going to perform that misbehavior anymore, and I'm not saying that Saber should be an assist trophy.

Also I forgot to mention this update:

PSA: Please ignore all my post and topics that were created before the COVID-19 pandemic. My opinions and thoughts have had major changes since the pandemic initiated. My behavior has now improved and I will not cause anymore trouble from now on.

All my posts from before the pandemic are now all outdated.

I’ve actually been thinking of a good move set. One in particular I’ve been thinking about is that she could use her Invisible sword air to allow herself to do a propelled jab forward similar to Ike. She could have a bar that charges up and allows her 20 seconds of healing using Avalon (Her scabbard). Back to using the air, she could use it as a recovery that uses mana kind of like hero except hers doesn’t need to be charged up to get a bigger reaction. She could also have a counter does a decent amount of damage and also stuns the enemy for a short amount of time. She could also have an energy slash like links or clouds but hers is side ways and a gold yellow that inflicts slight burn damage. Then she could just have some normal sword swings. And her final smash would obviously be the golden blast from her sword and would almost instantly kill the player if there above 90%.

Neat, personally though there are some changes I'd make personally such as due to if DLC is purchased spirit battles can change, for the Lancer spirit battle to be:

"If Byleth DLC is purchased, rather than Sonic the Fighter is a Byleth who prefers to use side special and side smash attacks."

Then due to EXTRA getting a remake, which they'll obviously going to be wanting to promote its release and raise up more hype for that: I'd imagine either Shiki or Arcueid would get the boot in favor of Hakuno Kishinami Mii Costumes on top of the Nero one, that said both of those girls are also in EXTRA (though I believe Shiki is only in CCC? Don't remember) so its a three for three either way (not counting Gil as he's only in CCC unless the Extra Remake changes that) though if I'd have to say whose more likely to get yeeted in that scenario... Shiki as she's only an optional boss while Arcueid is the Berserker in the Rani route based on that.

Then if development time wasn't something we had to consider I'd probably add the Einzbern Mansion into the list of locales the stage can take you too. Being able to squeeze in cameos from Lancer and Berserker. Though if that were to happen Illya would probably be moved over there with Berserker and well, Lancer works for three of those locations if the mansion was added, four if you added the school itself as well.

Though I suppose that would also allow the possibilities of Zouken, Hassan, then maybe even as extras: Bazett, Caren, and Avenger to pop up. Though tbh I feel like Lancer would show up regardless since if I recall Nasu has him high up in his favorite servants and thats kinda evident as the guy is the only male servant in FGO I believe with 4 different versions of himself, 5 if we count Extra Cu differently due to his tron cosplay not counting the versions of him we haven't seen but are confirmed to exist, second being Gil with three who is also kinda tied with Archer in that regard.

Would be one less location than Delfino Plaza but because development time exists I think the six we have is pretty gucci. Besides the bridge IMO as the Einzbern Mansion or Homurahara High School are more iconic locations than the bridge when thinking just Stay Night and a tad more story significant as well. Though it works great for an omega or battlefield stage location.

One last thing though: due to Shirou being someone who can actually fight, I'd change the final smash a bit to include him casting Unlimited Blade Works and shooting its swords at opponents as Saber launches her Excalibur beam. While not something has ever happened, its two references at once and is a nod to people that like the idea of combo-noble phantasms. I suppose you could call it "Unlimited EXCALIBUR Works" if this route was taken than just Excalibur, though the pure Excalibur beam is honestly the more likely of these especially if Shirou is just asking like Pokemon Trainer.

Overall though again: I think you did a good job.

Although I would prefer Bomberman, Crash Bandicoot, Master Chief, etc. instead of Saber, I would still be delighted if Saber got in!

I hope that Saber can get in. I think that she could be a fairly interesting fighter all things considered. Honestly if we get a remix of This or this that would be great. God Fate has a lot of good music that could be implemented remixed or not.

Yup, the only popular characters that didn't originate in a game were Ruler/Jeanne d'Arc and Rider/Astolfo (along with the rest of the Fate/Apocrypha crew) who originated in a novel..however, Fate/Apocrypha was originally meant to be an Online Game that got cancelled if that means anything.

Yup, it did, but that was literally just the original version of the game, it was ported without those scenes to the PS2 as Fate/stay night Réalta Nua and the series has kept the fan service aspect without the intentially lewd scenes as anything more than implied.


Yeah, its a shame considering I adore Jack the Ripper and think she's adorable and in need of hugs despite her murdering people (I mean, she's kind of too innocent to really know its 'wrong')..but yeah, she's a little girl in a bikini essentially..but you know, Japan loves their lolis..If she had pants it would've been a bit better. since otherwise I quite like her outfit and adorable lil face.

Considering that Nintendo made the legend of Zelda and Pokémon sword and shield which are based off of the King Arthur story it seems the people at Nintendo like the King Arthur story and that might add to the possibility of saber getting in to smash.

Saber might get a spirit or mii costume, but she will probably not get in as a playable character.

I think Saber has as much chance as anyone. The Fate/series is massively popular in Japan and Fate/Grand Order beat out Fortnite as the most tweeted about game of 2019 worldwide.

And, I mean, no one would have thought Terry would've made it in.

Once again, Saber is in the same boat as Reimu (Touhou) and the heroes from Dragon Quest. Most people think that Saber is obscure, when she actually isn't.

I’ve been in this thread several times and I keep forgetting to actually post!

Throwing in my support for Artoria. A unique Swordfighter with an amazing design from a franchise with a long history and some great music/potential Mii costumes to offer? Of course! Just get ready for the ‘fire emblem bad’ crowd throwing a temper tantrum if she got in. An easy storm to weather as long as you know it’s ahead.

I was actually talking with a friend about Fate and Smash, and he brought up something interesting - even if Smash didn’t want to associate with the eroge roots of FSN directly through Saber, they could just pull a “popular but not the very first” character from the franchise. I mean, as iconic as FSN is, there’s no question that FGO is the juggernaut of the series in the modern day. It alone has grossed more than the entire Smash franchise - no joke, Smash has made about $3.5 billion across all of its games, and FGO’s earned over $4.2 billion in its 5 year run so far; its also had 22 million downloads in Japan as of November and the western server just passed 12 million. So it’s definitely relevant, successful, and recognizable enough to warrant consideration.

While it would still almost certainly be Saber, it would still be cool if it took a popular pull from the FGO-era that shows up enough that it would act as a draw to attract players of both Smash and FGO to try out the other; something like a main-story billed character like Musashi for a dual sword fighter, or one of the characters that stars in events every year like Nobu for a character who fits Smash’s half serious half goofy atmosphere. And giving Kirby the coolest hat in the series.

As cool as Having a Nobunaga hat on Kirby would be, I'd have to assume if they decided "We want a Fate character, but not Saber because people have seen her naked" and Chose an FGO character, it's have to be Mashu.

I personally think it'll be Saber or nothing, but if I am wrong and they did add Mashu, I wouldn't be complaining.

Oh yeah, Mash would also be a great pick and a pretty obvious one at that, just felt like having some fun thinking about movesets. Mash’s only issue in my eyes is having such a defense oriented skill set and her shield effectively just being a big heavy melee weapon, but I know they’d find some cool ways to implement it.

...Might have to get her some leggings though when looking at her design compared to characters like Mythra or Corrin who also got them.

I doubt they would DQ saber for the game origins. The game has passed its porn origins years ago. And if porn truely deconfirmed chances, then ever character in the game would be out, as EVERYONE HERE HAS BEEN IN PORN lol. fan porn but still. These companies tend to ignore the porn.\

As for an FGO character, yeah Mash would be the most likely choice. She is the loveable Kohai, and basically the second main character after the MC. though I would laugh if we got Riyo's Gudako in as a playable instand lol. the true beast arrives.

Mash would be a fun unique playstye though. I don't think we have someone focused truely on defense. I think Master would be with Mash though, using command seals to assist.

I mean, F/SN has some pretty good tracks too. And like they explained regarding the FF music, the licensing could get tricky for FGO music due to multiple owners they'd need to lisence with.

So, considering this is a Saber support thread and Fate/Stay Night is created by TYPE-MOON I want to share a spirit event concept for TYPE-MOON's other Visual Novel which is Tsukihime whom get a remake and announced which is also coming to Switch.
