For what to put on the grave, how about this?
The green and yellow bird is perched on his grave and peonies are planted where he was.

Tingle doesn't really have any dreams behind him, but Shadow isn't really a permanent dead dream like Waluigi is. But yes, both disconfirmed is most regretable.
Honestly, Waluigi has a much greater chance than Shadow has of ever joining Smash, especially now that he's considered a Wario character by Sakurai.
Tingle is de-confirmed? I assume he's an assist?

Nope, Waluigi is a NON CANON character, which Sakurai completely ignores when considering playable characters. Shadow on the other hand isn't non canon, a pretty important character to his franchise. He could've been in as an alternate costume for Sonic in this title at the very least, but I can easily see a complicated change in the winds. The only real way we'd get Waluigi playable f by some sheer dumb luck we get something like say umm, Waluigi: The Game? I don't see such thing happening though.
It was never said that Sakurai ignores "non-canon" games.
WHOA!!! Man, I didn't say Non Canon Games in particular, I said Non Canon CHARACTERS. I mean, yes, it is true that Sakurai hasn't admitted it, but we do indeed have yet to see a character in smash with no canon appearances, and that's what's getting me to believe it's a thing for Smash.
What the hell is a canon appearance for a Mario character?
Just because we haven't seen it yet doesn't make it impossible. Similarly, we've yet to see a third party get more than one character.
