I honestly feel the whole "Sakurai hates Starfy" thing is blown way out of proportion.
I mean, Sakurai never actually said "Starfy, why did you even come here?", he said that "sometimes you may wonder 'Starfy, why did you even come here?'" as in, the player questioning why Starfy showed up if he's going to be more likely useless than useful. Then finished with "But that's part of his charm."

I'm not a Starfy fan, but it seems odd that I see how true to Starfy's clumsy, forgetful, and naïve personality it is when those that want to claim how "oh, Sakurai hates him" don't. It's probably because they're too busy fuming over the fact he isn't playable in the first place.
And considering that Starfy's best when in the water, it makes since that he's kind of pathetic on dry land. Yeah, I know he can do better than what was shown in Brawl, but so can Goldeen, yet it acts like a typical fish out of water in Smash.

Hmm... that's some way of thinking about it.

I wish I could say he's not that pathetic on land and also Smash Bros does loads of exceptions for the playable characters but it appears it would boil down to this.

*Applauds to Sakurai for dedication and accuracy done creatively*

Well, it might've been honestly confusing to people if Starfy was playable, to have both him and Luma on the field. Confusing because unlike in normal dittos, the player isn't in direct control of Luma *technically*, so they'd be all "No, not over there! Wait that's me."

Not to say that's a valid reason for exclusion, but honestly their design is similar and simplistic enough he obviously thought one star was enough.

Sorry to all the Starfy fans though!

Merry ****ing Christmas to me.

My good friend, for the past 3 years, has always stolen the girls I have crushes on. 7th grade, first crush, didn't tell anybody, go out to ask her, he beats me to it. 8th grade, same thing. This year, I didn't know until they introduced me to her. Trick me once, shame on me. Trick me twice, shame on you. Trick me thrice, I admire your taste in women but ETERNAL SHAME ON YOUR FAMILY.

Life's not all that bad, cheer up. It's Christmas!

This has probably been brought up before but... we're gonna need a bigger boat graveyard.

Luma looks nothing like starfy though, to say it is confusing is just a bad excuse
Maybe. I don't mean to offend Starfy fans, but that was just my first thought when I saw today's PotD.

Shiek is done. Zelda has a new down B which summons that knight from spirit tracks. I understand this decision and agree on it even though I like shiek because sakurai probably wants people to use zelda and just not always transform into shiek like how its been for the past 2 games lol. Also! This also means a good chance for Impa aka another Shiekah from skyward sword to be in this game and I would agree with this choice. She would prob have some similarities to sheik anyways. Last but not least Shiek being cut is not a big deal as this zelda isnt even the OOT one its twilight.. so sheik is kinda irrelevant.

...source?

Her pose? She does the same pose in a different image where the Darknut doesn't show up. Not to mention, it'd be very awkward if Zelda - in her TP design - would summon a 'Toon'-version of the Darknut. We have absolutely no indication whether or not Sheik will return; stop throwing around your own ideas/interpretations as if they're the truth.

Was wondering when the Sheik doomsayers would wake up and post.

Yeah, because Zelda "having a new" down special means she totally isn't able to transform in a taunt or split Shiek from her. Makes sense.

Hold your horses!

Zelda's reveal has NO disconfirmations, just 3 things:

1. Zelda is back (and in her TP design, my favorite)
2. A Phantom from Spirit Tracks is involved somehow, whether it be AT or a move for Zelda.
3. Donkey Kong finally has some teeth (and apparently only uses them when grabbing some princess a$$).

We don't know enough info yet to disconfirm anybody.

True, In the case of the Phantom, we really need to hear more info from Sakurai in regards to who it really is. It may as well just be a dead normal Phantom as it doesn't have the pink glow in its eyes.

And Sheik also hasn't been disconfirmed yet, despite what a certain someone is trying to get everyone to believe....

Does anyone ever stop to consider that the Phantom may be a new summoning move that Zelda can use? It looks too high quality to be a mere Assist Trophy, so perhaps Zelda can summon the Phantom to attack opponents, but she'd have no control over what it does; sort of like a pseudo-Assist Trophy, much like with Dedede's Waddle Dees.

True, but the question is if it replaces Transform or another Zelda move, all of which are rather important (you can't change Din's Fire, Nayru's Love or Farore's Wind without changing the others, Transform includes Sheik).

My opinion is that it's an AT, but I'm open to other ideas.

No, he's probably telling everyone "I told you so" because he thinks that the Darknut means that Sheik is no longer part of Zelda's moveset.
Actually he does think that, he actually made a thread :p

I dunno dude, it looks like a part of her moveset, but i'm thinking side-B

Din's fire was too easy to read.

I liked Din's Fire actually.
Although with it gone, could it...
Lead the way for Palutena to have slow moving magic projectiles similar to Din's Fire?
Oh boy, I just hyped myself up.
Yep this is actually my thinking. Glad i'm not the only one, since he said he's open to moar females and stuff.
