As someone uninitiated as far as Bayonetta goes (though planning on fixing that in due time), what is "avavago?"

"Avavago" is a summoning word used when Bayonetta summons the Infernal Demon Gomorrah in her source games. There are a whole bunch of other summoning words (Canilu, Sundenna, etc.), but Avavago is the one used to summon Gomorrah.

She didn't say it when she was being shown off in December, so I'm glad she says it now.

Eh, I kind of have to agree with this. I think an agonised, yet defiant grunt of pain would have been more fitting for her.

Additionally, the summoning chants are in enochian, a real life language used by english occultist John Dee. It was said by Dee that enochian is 'the language of the angels,' though the actual validity of the language is yet to be seen (except perhaps by practitioners of enochian magic) as, for all we know, he could have merely made it up.

It may also interest you to know that 'Avavago' mean 'Thunders.'

The original game doesn't have JP voice actors afaik, they got added in with the movie/wii-u rerelease.
