Wow, just one month. I remember when the ballot first came to be I thought the October deadline was a looong way away. Now it's almost over, it's the homestretch, we need to vote as much as we can. If Sceptile doesn't get in at least it wasn't for lack of trying!Well... Only one month of the ballot remains. No matter who wins, getting any kind of Sm4sh news at this point would be greatly appreciated.
I'd totally main number 2.Thanks for your support! To be honest, it would be really cool to have both Sceptile and Dragonite playable in a Smash game. It's a shame that there's only a limited amount of slots available for characters. There are so many Pokémon that would work well in Smash and be unique.
I had another idea for Sceptile. These could be his alts:
1) Blue body with dark blue tail and light blue seed pods
2) Pink body with red tail and dark red seed pods
3) Lavender body with purple tail and violet seed pods
4) Light yellow body with yellow tail and green seed pods
5) Gray body with black tail and white seed pods
6) Orange body with dark orange tail and yellow-orange seed pods
7) Dark brown body with brown tail and black seed pods
Sceptile is actually my 4th most requested. Above him are Snake at number 3, Krystal at number 2, and Wolf at number 1. Even then, Sceptile and Snake butt heads because they switch positions very often. I can't quite make up my mind, so I guess their tied.Besides Sceptile, what is everyone's second most-wanted DLC character? The other characters I would love to see make it in are Yooka and Laylee, but I feel their chances are even lower than Sceptile's.
Only other character I'd really want is Banjo Kazooie, other than him I'd rather the rest of the cut characters return.Besides Sceptile, what is everyone's second most-wanted DLC character? You ask that like tiers aren't fluid... He'll be fast with a projectile (be it bullet seed or the less likely energy ball) though so he'll probably be easy enough to pick up that he'll rise fairly quickly to wherever his toolkit gets him, rather than being one of those ignored characters that randomly someone someday makes awesome. If Sceptile gets in, what tier do you think he would be in?
We have absolutely no way of telling that, lol. What tier a character fall in depends on all the little data that goes into how they fight, which is something we would not know until said character got in.If Sceptile gets in, what tier do you think he would be in?
Not directly. It might be an indirect blow as far as fan support goes (you've seen the "no more Pokémon reps" crowd by now), but as far as the dev team themselves goes, "over-representing" a series isn't a deal breaker for them.I haven't considered this yet, but do you think Pichu is a hindrance to Sceptile's chances at all? Veterans are very popular in Japan, and bringing Pichu back into Sm4sh would be a very Sakurai thing to do.
Well, depending on how you crack it, Sceptile's actually second or third for me. Delphox is kind of a big deal for me (Who knew, right? >_>), but things are kind of ambiguous as far as actual chances go. As far as more plausible characters, I'm mainly also interested in Krystal, Isaac, and K. Rool. Add in long shot characters, and I'd also add Absol, Geno, Wolf Link & Midna, Rundas, Black Mage...Besides Sceptile, what is everyone's second most-wanted DLC character? I hope this doesn't happen. I'm pretty easy to please. I'd be happy if any other veteran came back and every potential newcomer sounds pretty great. Pichu is the only character that if announced as DLC I'd be genuinely upset. I'm not sure why I so vehemently hate Pichu but I do.I haven't considered this yet, but do you think Pichu is a hindrance to Sceptile's chances at all? You also have to take into account the people most likely to vote in those polls: the more vocal members of the community here. Those are also going to be the people who would downvote a character they saw as competition for one they're personally invested in...and you've seen the "no more Pokémon" mentality among a lot of them here. I've also noticed Pichu's support base is small, but loud enough to out-shout detractors, and it's also less susceptible to be targeted in the first place due to veterans getting put on a pedestal sometimes...and there're also those who don't support the little guy but want him in just to see people get salty about it. Questionable at best, but it's there. It makes me worry though that Pichu has more Yes votes than Sceptile in that individual character poll thread:
Pichu http://www.poll-maker.com/poll364151x056d8708-14
Sceptile http://www.poll-maker.com/poll373177xF7aaDd3a-14
If No votes counted in the official Smash ballot Sceptile would be set haha
Heh, you should see the moveset idea I had. It was based around a neutral special that'd let you foresee one of several different weather-based hazards that'd kick in a few seconds later. Powerful yet super-telegraphed zoning tools that'd also function as stage pressure (You'd even cycle to the one you wanted like with Shulk's Monado Arts!), whereas Absol itself would have strong and deceptively fast A attacks. A dangerous threat up close and at long range...but with a notable weakness at midrange against opponents who wield weapons.Actually now that I think about it Absol would be pretty awesome in Smash. I think I'll throw a couple of votes his way.
That's true. Logically I know I shouldn't take so much stock in unofficial polls like that. I noticed that Sceptile has the most Yes votes compared to all the other new pokémon candidates but he's trailing behind all of the cut pokémon veterans. That could be due to people just going on down the list and casting a vote for everyone they recognize (like I did haha) and since everyone recognizes a veteran of course they would have more votes. Those votes don't represent the official vote; I voted Yes for a lot of characters on that thread that I haven't voted for on the official ballot. "Pichu? Yeah, I kind of liked that character." *unofficial yes vote* is a lot different from "I REALLY WANT PICHU BACK IN THE GAME" *official ballot submission*You also have to take into account the people most likely to vote in those polls: the more vocal members of the community here. Ash had a Sceptile? That's pretty cool! It's been forever since I've watched the anime.I've noticed how a lot of the Pokémon content in Smash are directly based off of the anime (the Pokémon's voices, Ash being referenced in one of the trophies, etc). Since Sceptile is one of Ash Ketchum's main powerhouses, that would be another good reason for him to be playable. If only there was some way to convince the writers to bring Ash's Sceptile back... He hasn't made an appearance since the Tobias battle at the end of the DP saga.
Yes. His Sceptile is currently under Professor Oak's care, but during the battle against Tobias in the Sinnoh League, Ash's Sceptile was able to finish off Tobias's Darkrai. It would be nice to see him return again at some point.Ash had a Sceptile? That's pretty cool! It's been forever since I've watched the anime.
Did you click the link? I'm definitely joking. They somehow managed to come up with a suggestion worse than Shrek. Sceptile all the way! What the heck man? I thought you liked sceptile as your main for DLC! Oh well, at least you gave it your all to support him over these month's. I am very surprised that you are leaving. Not in a good way.
Lmao I saw this. This article is sooo bad.Guys, I'm really sorry, but I'm pulling all of my support for Sceptile. A far better candidate has come to light and from now on I'll be focusing all of my efforts on this:

It's an awesome concept but it all depends on how well it's executed. The little details will make or break it, like how difficult it is to find/catch pokémon (it can't be too hard or too easy) or the mechanics of training and battling. It's got to have great graphics too, because an augmented reality pokémon would just look silly if the graphics looked like crap. I'm sure there won't be just Gen 1 pokémon in the final version, this is just a trailor. I'm predicting it will be limited to a little more than a hundred pokémon or so but there will be reps from all generations. On a side note, a new Pokémon game is coming out next year called Pokémon Go:

Meh. I'm not hyped for it at all to be honest. I don't have a smartphone and there are only Pokémon from Gen 1.
I'm sure it will be a solid spin-off title, but I can't help but feel like there's something else much bigger planned for Pokémon's 20th anniversary. It would be a joke to only have a freemium game not even on a Nintendo platform to celebrate this momentous occasion, plus Game Freak isn't even developing it.It's an awesome concept but it all depends on how well it's executed. It's fantastic! You have great taste! Thanks for your support! Oh. Try not to double post.So I made a list of my top 5 DLC characters. What do you guys think?
1. Sceptile (obviously)
2. Snake/Big Boss
3. Phoenix Wright
4. King K. Rool
5. Wonder Red
Off topic, but if we get a BlazBlue character (which we won't!) it should totally be Noel Vermillion, her move set is way better suited.Part 5 of the individual character poll is complete:

This adds in missing characters people requested.
Go vote guys!
