Name: Dragonite
Introduced Game: Pokemon Green/Red/Blue

Statistics
Height - 220.98 cm:
****
Weight - 210.45 kg: ****
Walking Speed: **
Sprinting Speed: ***
Attack Power: ****
Attack Speed: **
Jump Height: *****
Float ness: ****
Fast Fall Speed: ***
Knockback Resistance: ****
Grab Range: ****
Traction: ***
Dragonite wouldn't be very fast, but it would make up for speed with high power and high weight to decrease its knockback. Dragonite would be floaty in the air, but there would be a significant difference between its average falling speed and its fast falling speed. Unlike other heavy characters, Dragonite would actually have good aerial abilities, boosted by its ability to fly. Dragonite would have ranged moves to make up for its slow attacks, as well as a long range tail grab.

Special Abilities
Supersonic Flight:
This would be a unique form of flying that is not present in the game. Basically, it would be like Peach’s Floating ability but it would also make Dragonite rise into the air. The speed that Dragonite would rise at would depend on how much you are holding upwards.
Traditional Flight: When Dragonite attempts its second jump, its wings would enlarge by 3 times, Allowing Dragonite to do multiple mini jumps like Pit and Metaknight by flapping its wings.
Gliding: If you hold the control stick fully forward while Dragonite is in midair, it would turn to a horizontal position, causing its forward aerial movement speed to dramatically increase.
Inner Focus: If an attack hits Dragonite, it would ignore knock back from the hit as if it was a shot from Fox's blaster if the hit does a low amount of damage, with the required amount of damage for knockback decreasing as Dragonite's damage percentage increases.

B Moves
B: Hyper Beam
- Dragonite would charge a ball of yellow energy in front of its mouth as you hold B. The ball of yellow energy would enlarge multiple times as you hold B. If you release B, Dragonite would turn the yellow ball of energy into a yellow beam of energy, looking similar to a Pikachu's Down B Thunder going horizontally instead of vertically. The beam of energy would be longer and sent further depending on how much it had been charged and if it hits something, it would zap it numerous times depending on its length while having the portions of the beam extinguish after zapping. The last portion of the beam would explode if it extinguishes, causing it to smash opponents away. Dragonite would become stunned as if its shield was broken for a small amount of time after shooting this beam, with the duration of the time it's stunned depending on how much the beam was charged for before it was fired. Dragonite could send the beam diagonally instead of straight forward if you hold diagonally while charging the beam before the beam is fired. This beam may be stored by shielding during the charge; causing Dragonite to store the size of the energy ball (The charging style of this move would be similar to Shiek’s B Needles).

B Side: Thunder Wave - By holding B, Dragonite would send forward a constant bolt of blue electricity from its antennae. By holding back during this move, the bolts length would decrease but it would be stronger and thicker although by holding forward during this move, the bolts length would increase but it would be weaker and thinner. Holding up or down would shift the vertical direction the bolt travels in. If an opponent gets caught in the bolt, they would be continuously shocked in it while being dealt minor damage, although the bolt would constantly zigzag vertically, causing it to become harder to control from a longer range.

Alternative B Side: Wing Attack - Dragonite would flap its wings, causing a slightly transparent white crescent shape to shoot forward in front of it. The crescent would deal damage like a smashed version of Link's B Side Boomerang going forward and it would extinguish after hitting something or travelling too far. A smashed version of this move would execute a less transparent crescent shape that would travel further and faster and deal damage like Shiek's dash attack. This move would have a high amount of priority.
B Up: Extreme Speed/Dragon Rush - Dragonite would do a slower single version of Pikachu's B Up Quick Attack. It would be possible to cancel the travelling part of this move and replace it with an A move by commanding an A move while Dragonite is travelling, causing Dragonite to instantly stop travelling and execute the commanded A move. Replacing the travelling part of Extreme Speed would still cause it to count as a recovery move. It would be extremely difficult to pinpoint when Dragonite would execute an A move during Extreme Speed because of the speed that it would be travelling at. If an A move would be commanded while Dragonite is travelling along the ground with this move, it would execute an A move as if it was sprinting although if an A move is commanded while Dragonite is travelling in midair, Dragonite would execute an Aerial A move as if it was floating in midair.
Alternative B Up: Aerial Ace - Dragonite would quickly dive to where you are pointing. If Dragonite would come close to a target during the dive, this move would switch like Captain Falcon's B Side Raptor Boost and Dragonite would vanish for half a second like Mewtwo's B Up Teleport, followed by Dragonite reappearing and moving forward at Quick Attack speed from where it vanished from, causing opponent's to get damaged and smashed away if Dragonite hits them.

B Down: Dragon Dance - Dragonite would horizontally spin around in 360 degrees at moderate speed while weakly damaging nearby opponents. After the spin, Dragonite’s movement speed, attack damage, attack speed and attack priority would temporarily slightly increase. If this move would be stacked on with itself, the boost it provides would decrease each time depending on the boost already given until a point when Dragonite’s stats are increased by around 30%. Then Dragonite’s stats would not be able to increase any further. All stat boosts would be removed if Dragonite is KO’ed and the stat boosts would gradually cancel over time.
Alternative B Down: Dragon Pulse - Dragonite would charge energy for as long as B is held. Then Dragonite would send out a sphere shaped shockwave from its body after you release B. The shockwave would be thicker, more powerful and sent farther out depending on how much it was charged. The shockwave would gradually lose strength, width and priority as it goes outwards and the shockwave could be out-prioritized by moves with higher priority. If the shockwave hits an opponent, they would get smashed in the direction it is travelling in. The shockwave wouldn’t be sent very far at all unless it is fully charged.

Regular A Moves
A: Dragon Cutter
- Dragonite would continuously do moderate speed slashes in front of itself.
Dash A: Dashing Claw Swipe - Dragonite would quickly swipe in front of itself while gliding forward.
Tilt Side: Giant Tail - Dragonite would spin around and whip its opponent with its tail.
Tilt Up: Dragonbreath - Dragonite would breathe a breath of green fire above itself that would smash opponents upward. Dragonbreath would only be effective if it is executed on the opponent.
Tilt Down: Brick Break - Dragonite would use both of its fists to execute a meteor smashing ground slam.
Smash Side: Dragon Claw - Dragonite's claws would glow white as you charge up and after you release A, Dragonite would execute a powerful diagonal slash while its claws are glowing white.
Smash Up: Backflip Tail - Dragonite would do a backflip while hitting opponents with its tail in the 240 degree radius in front of itself.
Smash Down: Aqua Tail - Dragonite's tail would glow blue as you charge up and after you release A, Dragonite would spin around and slam its tail on the ground in front of itself while its tail is glowing blue.

Aerial A Moves
Nair: Steel Wing
- Dragonite would enlarge its wings, make them glow silvery white and turn to a side position to do a sort of Sex Kick on both sides of itself with its wings while they are glowing silvery white.
Fair: Dragon Dive - Dragonite would turn to a horizontal position and spin around several times while smashing opponents that it hits.
Bair: Flying Claw - Dragonite would spin around while slashing behind itself twice.
Uair: Flying Backflip Tail - Dragonite would do a backflip while smashing opponents with its tail in the 240 degree radius above itself in the direction that its tail is travelling in.
Dair: Somersault Iron Tail - Dragonite would curl into a ball shape and do a front somersault. As Dragonite reaches an upside down position, it would uncurl itself, make its tail glow silvery white and execute a powerful downwards tail attack that would spike opponents.

Grabbing/Throwing
Grab: Wrap
- Dragonite would spin around and grabs its opponent with its tail.
Dash Grab: Dragonite would attempt to grab its opponent with both of its arms. Compared to Dragonite's standing grab, this grab would execute faster although it would have shorter range and more lag time if it misses.
A: Squeeze - Dragonite would squeeze its opponent with its tail.
Throw Forward: Twister - Dragonite would throw its opponent diagonally up in the air and flap its enlarged wings towards its opponent, causing a twister shaped like a vertical spiral of air to appear on its opponent. The twister would essentially work like Y Link's Up B Spin Attack with less width and more height on the tossed opponent and any other opponents that come into contact with it.
Throw Up: Seismic Toss - Dragonite would jump upwards while holding onto its opponent. When Dragonite reaches the peak of its jump, it would do a flip and throw its opponent directly downwards as it reaches an upside down position while finishing this move above its opponent in midair. The jumping part of this move would be treated like Dragonite's regular jump and therefore Dragonite could change the horizontal direction it travels in during this move.
Throw Down: Body Slam - Dragonite would slam its opponent on the ground while slamming its body on top of its opponent.
Throw Back: Tail Throw - Dragonite would throw its opponent behind itself with its tail.

Extreme Moves
Extreme Move: Dragon Rage
- Dragonite would shoot a stream of red fire forward that would look and work like the attack that Pokeball Entei use, except it would travel horizontally instead of vertically. After the stream has dealt 40% damage to an opponent inside it, the stream would smash that opponent away. The stream would end after it has done this effect to every opponent caught in it. If the stream doesn't manage to catch any victims, it would end after having the potential to do 40% damage. The stream would not affect any opponents that have already been a victim of it earlier (as if avoiding Link's Up B Sword Spin after already being hit).
Alternative Extreme Move: Draco Meteor - Dragonite would roar to the Sky and a few seconds later, a large number box sized meteors would continuously travel down diagonally forward towards the stage around Dragonite. Each meteor would be as fragile as a thrown box and if they would break, they would explode and meteor smash opponents.
Alternative Extreme Move: Outrage - Dragonite would roar and a yellow glow would cover its body, causing it to enter Hyper Mode. During this mode, Dragonite's Hyper Beam's would always be fully charged and not cause any stun time. This mode would end if Dragonite doesn't manage to deal any damage to opponents after a small amount of time.

Sprint: Dragonite would glide forward, doing a sprint similar to Mewtwo's sprint in SSBM.
Shield: Safeguard - Dragonite's shield would act normally, except its default colour would be green.
Taunt: Dragon Roar - Dragonite would do a single version of the roar it does in Pokemon Snap.
Entrance: Dragonite would rapidly fly down to the stage and cause a shockwave on the ground as it lands.
Symbol: A Pokeball
Kirby Hat: Kirby would have the antennae, horn, tail and wings of Dragonite.
How to Unlock: Dragonite would challenge you after you have unlocked every trophy for every other Pokemon.

Pokedex: 1st/2nd Generation, 3rd Generation, 4th Generation

Dragonite is a final form Pokemon from the first generation of Pokemon games. Its Japanese name "Kairyu" literally translates to "Sea Dragon". Dragonite is classified as a Dragon Pokemon. This would have to be the best classification for it, as it is practically the symbol of the Dragon type Pokemon. According to the Pokedex, Dragonite has as much intelligence as a human.

Dragonite was the first final form dragon Pokemon created, being the only dragon type along with its pre-evolutions: Dratini and Dragonair during the first generation. Dragonite has always been portrayed as a boss Pokemon; the Pokemon that you meet right at the end of the game that is the most difficult Pokemon to beat. Lance who is best known as the dragon expert uses Dragonite as his signature strongest Pokemon. In the games, Lance has Dragonite's on levels before they can even evolve into Dragonite’s. Lance used a Dragonite in Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow when he was the fourth member of the elite four. The Dragonite knew Barrier even though Dragonite cannot learn Barrier and he used it as his strongest Pokemon. Lance used 3 Dragonite's in Gold/Silver/Crystal as the Pokemon league champion with one of them as his strongest Pokemon. Lance used 2 Dragonite’s in Fire Red/Leaf Green on his upgraded team with one of them as his strongest Pokemon. Lance used a Dragonite in Pokemon Stadium 2 as the Johto Pokemon league champion in rounds 1 and 2. In Pokemon Stadium, Dragonite was used by the final trainers in the Ultra Ball Poke Cup, Master Ball Poke Cup, Ultra Ball Prime Cup and a trainer in the Master Ball Prime Cup. In Pokemon Stadium 2, the final trainers in the Round 1 Master Ball Poke Cup, Round 2 Great Ball Poke Cup and Round 2 Master Ball Poke Cup used a Dragonite as their strongest Pokemon, and Red used a Dragonite as the second last boss of the whole game. In Pokemon Trading Card, Dragonite was one of the 4 legendary Pokemon along with the 3 legendary birds and the last grandmaster used Dragonite as his legendary Pokemon. In Pokemon XD, Dragonite is the last shadow Pokemon that can only be captured if you had captured every other Pokemon in the game. As you can see, Dragonite is portrayed as an important relevant final frontier in a lot of the Pokemon games.

In the anime, a Dragonite stared in the first Pokemon movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back, as Mewtwo’s personal messenger (probably because of its amazing flight speed). Also, the champion of the orange league: Drake used a Dragonite as his most powerful Pokemon in his battle against Ash. It took three of Ash’s Pokemon down in a row before being finished off by a full power Thunder from Pikachu. A whole chapter of Ash’s journey of him winning a league championship for the first time ended with him facing a very powerful Dragonite in an intense battle. Lance: the only known Pokemon G Man (the 3rd coolest Pokemon career according to an official Pokemon poll) and undefeated distinguished member of the elite 4 uses it as his signature Pokemon in the anime, using it to successfully help him thwart the plans of evil organizations such as team rocket. Professor Oak also has a Dragonite and it seems to be his strongest Pokemon, he even labelled the Dragonite as an old friend. Perhaps one of the most popular Pokemon characters: Professor Oak used a Dragonite as his most powerful Pokemon when he was a trainer. Two Pokemon anime episodes that Dragonite was featured in were included on an official poll of the top Pokemon episodes. "The Scuffle of Legends" was voted as 2nd and "Rage of Innocence" was voted as 9th.

Dragonite is Pokemon number 149, right behind Mewtwo in the legendary part of the pokedex and even though it is classified as a legendary Pokemon occasionally, it has non legendary traits such as breeding abilities and pre-evolutions. Its body is suitable to be a character; Dragonite is a humanoid dragon biped with enlargeable wings. A heavy powerful versatile flying character like Dragonite would be a very unique popular character in a game like SSBB. Dragonite is the answer for a heavy Pokemon character that carries some power, something that is not present in SSB and yet is widely demanded.

Dragonite is an overused Pokemon in competitive play and on Pokemon forums. It is commonly used in Pokemon Role Playing Game's and seen on trainer cards because of its huge popularity. In Pokemon Red/Blue/Yellow; Dragonite had the highest attack of any Pokemon in the games, even higher than Mewtwo, and it is still one of the most powerful Pokemon available so making it one of the most powerful characters in a game like SSBB would make perfect sense. A Pokemon like Dragonite should represent the extremely powerful dragon Pokemon in SSBB. Everyone probably thinks Pokemon is all about cute rats and puffballs in the current SSB games, so a powerful Pokemon like Dragonite would be a perfect addition to the game and it would satisfy a lot of people.

Dragonite is a friendly hero that helps people if they are in trouble but if it becomes frustrated, it would go on its signature outrage, seemingly losing its mind and relentlessly attacking everything until it is stopped. This is a unique behaviour that no other characters have. Dragonite and its other forms have a whole shrine dedicated to them in Johto and in Pokemon Crystal; Clair's grandfather that resides in the shrine gives you the pre-evolution of Dragonite: Dratini with the rare popular move "Extreme Speed" if you complete his quiz after getting all of the gym badges in Johto. Various Game Corners also award Dratini's as prizes. Dratini is available from Game Corner's in Red, Blue, Gold, Silver, Crystal, Fire Red and Leaf Green. Dratini is the second most expensive Pokemon awarded at the Rocket Game Corner next to Porygon in Blue and Leaf Green. Dratini is the most expensive Pokemon available as a prize at the Goldenrod Game Corner in Gold, Silver and Crystal. In Pokemon Ranger, a Dragonite plays the part of the Dragonite Bus, working as a form of transport that allows you to travel between locations. As you can see, Dragonite is different from other Pokemon with no relevance to any of their games. The fact that it can be obtained out of the wild like most other Pokemon also makes it important.

Dragonite was the only dragon type and one of the only four non legendary non starter bipedal Pokemon that appeared on the list of the top twenty Pokemon during Pokemon's 10th anniversary. Even on official polls, Dragonite is one of the most popular Pokemon.

Things that Dragonite could represent: Dragon type Pokemon, 3rd form Pokemon, physically powerful Pokemon, the 10th anniversary of Pokemon, Flying type Pokemon, Boss's in Pokemon, Pokemon fan popular Pokemon, the Elite Four, the Orange Island League, Lance, Pokemon that evolve at high levels, Blackthorn City, Mysterious Pokemon, legendary Pokemon with non-legendary traits, non-legendary Rare Pokemon, The Safari Zone, The Game Corner, beam attacks

In Pokémon Red and Blue and Pokémon Yellow, Dragonite had the highest Attack of any Pokémon in the games, even higher than Mewtwo and Mew. Even after those games, it was still a fearsome foe, with its Attack score in the 98th percentile, both Special Attack and Special Defense in the top 20% of all Pokémon, and no ability below the 69th percentile.

Dragonite is also pokemon number 149, thats the 3rd last pokemon of the 1st generation and the last section of the pokedex is usually reserved for legendary pokemon.

It'd be interesting to see how he would play, but there are much more deserving Pokemon before him.

Also, I think the Pokedex in R/B/Y/G did consider him a Legendary Pokemon didn't it?

Also, I'm unsure about the moveset you gave there in your post. It seemed like you just took moves from all the other characters and added them here. His throws sounds very similar to Fox's Throw Down, Kirby's Throw Up, and Mewtwo's Forward Throw.

The Pokemon that I can think of off the top of my head that are more deserving are:

Meowth
Deoxys
Lucario

Simply because of their demand.

Also, yes, Lance was the champion in G/S/C, but he didn't have the radience that Red has when you battle him.

Just throwing this question out there, is Red the strongest trainer you ever battle, excluding the Battle Tower?

yes it did, i think thats why lance says something like "able to train legendary dragon pokemon" or something like that about legendary dragons

the throws arent important, i didnt even have to post them. and sure, they would be a little clony but they would have small differences, throw down would auctually smash the opponent, throw up will be slower and he will throw the opponent down at the last second inctead of slammin them and throw forward? it could do small freezes with each hit. and about the B V, sorry about that but it was hard to think of a last special, if u can think of a better one tell me, i just thought of a few options for the BV. red is the strongest trainer in the game, but so what? i dont know any people who want starters as characters.
i know meowth, lucario and deoxys are like the 3 most wanted characters, i never said dragonite was, but so what? that doesnt mean there cant be any more pokemon characters. i tried quottin ur message like 10 times but my internet kept **** up, dunno wats up with that.

Whoa neat moveset... However I think its a bit wasted... Dragonite will not make it to a playable character in Brawl. Perhaps he could be in a Pokeball?

Brawls prolly gonna have around 40 characters I think. New Pokemon characters are still not confirmed. Yet I think only 2 will make it. And those probarly are Lucario and (I hope) Blaziken.

ye.. but still, i bet u ther is gonna be more than 2 new pokemon characters, maybe the game will have online features that would let u download new characters that the producers make after the game gets released, some guy told me that could happen once, but i guess no games ever had that feature b4, i just bet u more characters will be released then the amount of characters released in ssbm.

if the game was gonna hav a new pokemon character that wasnt a main in the anime or a single legendary, who would u pick? i think dragonite would be a good choice THEN

why wouldnt any season 1 pokemon get in? dragonite would be near the size of bowser, then they could make him even smaller like the did with bowser. dragonite would just look like a tall guy.

the season has NOTHING to do with what pokemon will become characters, it all depends on their popularity n the anime, and dragonite has been the main pokemon of some of the strongest trainers, orange league champion, kanto/johto champion. and besides, the game should have a pokemon of a way different type, a flying dragon sounds good if u ask me. dragonite was also the first dragon pokemon and the only dragon in red/blue.

Dragonite could be done but with the size you pointed out, he'd still be bigger than most characters and may not get in because I doubt they'll add any pokemon from season 1 as characters

Woot 100th post
that's stupid all that matters is how unique it is, I bet Meowth will be added because he was going to have his own game for the cube Meowth Party

Well, I would assume they would add Pokemon from the third generation. My predictions would be some form of the R/S starters (exception), Latios/Latas, Deoxys, Rayquaza, Absol, the Regis, Groudon, and Kyogre (exception). I say this because all of the Pokemon featured in the other Pokemon movies are already in the game. Whether by coincidence, or because of popularity, it's very likely they will be in there. I included Kyogre and the R/S starters because they are popular.

...hmm, Ho-oh, Lugia, Suicune, Raikou, Entei, the legendary birds, and Snorlax weren't big? I'm going blind then...

Edit: Bah, I was referring to Pokemon that come out of Pokeballs. Oh well, whatever...

well i think i already said this but i think there should be a pokemon to represent important characters pokemon, ash would prob have pikachu and prob another pokemon like grovyle, TR would have meowth, they should get rid of pichu unless those pichu bro.s become really popular, mewtwo is well, by himself. then they should add pokemon to represent trainers like brock, misty, may, other popualr anime characters and lance, the dragon master

WHY do they need to represent the traiuners? Lance wasn't that big in the anime anyway, he didn't do to much in the game either, and what makes you so sure that Dragonite has a big chance anyway? Theres a much popular pokemon that does everything Dragonite does and bette(Salamence) and that's not even likely. The only pokemon that have a chance are Deoxys, Lucario, Meowth, and maybe Munchlax and Blaziken.

salamence doesnt have arms. if u remember the anime wen ash was in the orange islands, the last pokemin he vs'd to win it was dragonite. he went through a whole season to fight a dragonite. and dragonite was big in the game, in gold/silver they sold dratini in the game corner. then it could only be obtained in the dragons den. then in crystal a guy in there auctualy gives u a dratini with extreme speed. then the pokemon league champion uses 3 of them. the only reason dragonite doesnt appear much in the anime is because its meant to be really rare

besides salamence cant boltbeam and punch and alot of things dragonite can

and as if the pokemon league champion in johto/kanto isnt important

wats with munchlax being a character anyway? why should it be?

So what if Dragonute was the last thing he fought in the Orange Islands, what about the other powerful things he fights last in the other places they go to? How tough can a Dragonite be if it lost to Pikachu anyway? and selling Dratini which veolves into Dragonite makes it uniqe? Wow, Sandslash and Arbok and Alakazam must be EXTREMLEY uniqe, and finding it only in the Dragon's den makes it uniqe? Then Wobbufet must be uniqe, the only place you could catch that was in Dark cave., same thing with a guy that gives you it, still not uniqe, and you're not even talking about Dragonite, you're talking about Dratini, and there being three of them used in the battle with Lance makes it even less uniqe, and Deoxys is supposed to be rare, it also appears as much as Dragonit, Lance wasn't even the champion in Red, the rival was, and he sucked really bad in Gold, half of Kanto was stronger than him in that game.

ash went through a whole TV season to win the orange island league, in that battle dragonite withstandeded ash's whole team and KO'ed 5 of his pokemon, and i meant there was only 2 places to get dragonite, and wobbafet is unique and popular, and if lance uses 3 dragonite (dragonite is his last pokemon to) that must mean his main pokemon is dragonite, i havnt played red/blue in ages and u could just say that kanto is twice as stroong as johto in gold/silver but it depends on the time u get there, so in reality lance would be able to beat all the trainers in kanto except red. and y r u gettin deoxys involved now? i know that deoxys has more of a chance than dragonite, so what?

Well, I would assume they would add Pokemon from the third generation. My predictions would be some form of the R/S starters (exception), Latios/Latas, Deoxys, Rayquaza, Absol, the Regis, Groudon, and Kyogre (exception). I say this because all of the Pokemon featured in the other Pokemon movies are already in the game. Whether by coincidence, or because of popularity, it's very likely they will be in there. I included Kyogre and the R/S starters because they are popular.
they won't add pokemon because of their generation if you want to rep 3rd generation give a 3rd generation move to Pikachu, for pokemon being added I think it will go like this, Pichu will be removed, Meowth will replace him and Deoxys and Lucario will be added. But Jigglypuff, Mewtwo, Pikachu and Meowth may get one or more moves from the second generation as a B move or as a super. That's just my theory.

Dragonite is a vastly used pokemon in the series he is often used in the elite 4 so he's not forgotton or ignored

dragonite is always used by only the most strongest trainers, and when they are, they are their main pokemon. i know he wont get in if ssbb isnt gonna be much new characters but if they have alot, then dragonite could be considered, the only reason people wouldnt accept dragonite is cause he hasnt had a movie based around him and been in every episode.

are people forgetting that Sakurai said that they're trying to focus more on aerial combat.

Making Dragonite a perfect candidate for the job.

I think we can all count on Dragonite not getting in. This reminds me of the same pitch for Charizard back in SSBM. Just because he's your favorite Pokemon, Oni, doesn't mean it'll get him a spot.

I'm actually hoping for no new Pokemon to be added, if you want my honest opinion.

Pokemon is Nintendo's #2 top seller. Only Mario will have more characters in Brawl then them.

Kaid, I already know that it's the #2 selller, I didn't need it restated to me for a fifth time.

Even without anyone telling me, or knowing prior, I could figure it out myself. Gee, maybe it'd be because of the insane amount of Pokemon that spring out of the thousands of pokeballs that appear on every battle stage. It sells so much because younger children (and in some cases, older people) are interested in it from watching the show, and reading the anime. Just because of that, though, it doesn't mean there needs to be more playable characters in the Smash Brothers franchise. If you want to put it in a technical sense, the Pokemon already have the largest amount of characters in the game, because, as I already said, they appear in Pokeballs. There's no doubt that more will be added in the Pokeball sense - that's unavoidable. But there's no actual need for any more to be playable.

On the contrary, pokeballs are a single item, that don't affect Pokemon's overall representation. And many of us plat by tourny rules.

I could also point out the trends...

In SSB 64, Mario and Pokemon were the only franchises with more than 1 character.
In Melee, Mario had 5 core characters, and LoZ and Pokemon each had 4, while at the same time adding dozens of new pokemon to the pokeballs.
