Getting you to watch im@s is on my list of things of getting friends to watch/read/playing something.
I kind of dislike the idol genre, which has kept me from getting sucked into the IM@S trap. XD
I was going to watch either Psycho Pass or SAO next but I mean if its really good I guess I could watch that before those two
If there was a dislike button, I would click it to death for this post!

Do you not go on here too often, anymore (if you just noticed that now XD)?

lol Don't worry, imas isn't one of those things I'll suggest to you. For you, it'd be to play 999, especially since you said other people pushed you to play that, so there's a better chance. XD

To be perfectly honest, I didn't see them before Rei pointed them out :D
Huh... It's kind of surprises how people are overlooking them, since I immediately noticed them when they first appeared. But maybe that's because they were in a slightly more noticeable place at first, I think, on the left side of the text box right under your post's text.
Wha why D:
If you don't know why, then I have nothing to say to you...

I'm pretty good at ignoring stuff that doesn't appear relevant ... e.g. I only realized all the crazy stuff that's going on in the background of the Yoshi's Story stage when watching somebody else play :D

Also: I'm looking for recommendations on visual novels... I haven't read too many so far (the first half of umineko and saya no uta), so I'm pretty open for anything (:

Finish Saya no Uta and Umineko. Read 999, Tsukihime, F/SN, Steins;Gate for the cut content, any of Key's stuff.

Heh, now that I reread that, my "list" was ambiguous. The first half was just referring to Umineko (where I will definitely finish the second half too, no questions asked). I did read Saya no Uta in pretty much one sitting, with just a quick break for food. Also, I think I'd rather read something completely new, and not Key stuff, or Steins;Gate where I have seen the anime adaptions... (:

I don't go on here often anymore.

949 thread is dead and everyone migrated to facebook, twitter, and skype.

Also MuvLuv and MuvLuv Alternative.

g-senjou no maou if you are baller

sharin no kuni for the same reason

tsukihime because there's no anime equivalent

grisaia no kajitsu if you're ok with reading things solely for the characters

Rewrite because KEY, and because no anime

YU-NO if you dont mind 80s pixel art and not knowing what to do

muvluv alternative if you dont mind doing the equivalent of a college semester's pre-reading (muvluv extra and unlimited)

999, virtue's last reward and the ace attorney series if you have the relevant handhelds

remember11, ever17, kirakira, da capo 2, chaos;head, yume miru kusuri - these are ones i have good memories of but needed to think for a bit about before recommending

<ediocre art is forgivable, but on the other hand "not knowing what to do" wouldn't end well... I always liken my way of playing hack&slay RPGs to the Touhou cast resolving incidents: set out and randomly beat up everyone you meet, until you happen upon somebody vaguely related to your objective :D

Thanks for the recommendations everyone. Guess it'll be either F/SN (basically everyones seems to love that one) or g-senjou no maou (I don't know about being "baller", but the general premises sounds really fun ;) ) after finishing Umineko.

TWGOK was so good wow.

Ending has some holes but overall very cute stuff
I agree. I liked the series a lot and even had it as one of my favorites on MAL.

With the last arc, it might not stay up. There were good parts on the ending, but it really missed out on some details and needed another arc :/

I would have been okay with just a few more chapters that better explained the ending if another arc wasn't really feasible too.

But yea I agree the ending was just rushed. Its definitely on my favorite mangas but I have only read a few so far :3

Should I get a MAL account? The biggest reason for why I haven't is because I can't think of a good username without possibly revealing any private information of myself...

Adorable

And I'm really surprised. I thought Tadokoro would be your favorite female character. Alice is godlike though, so if she's your favorite, that works.

You've convinced me not to get an account...
On a more serious note: You don't really need one anyway.
A spreadsheet will do just fine and depending on how much detail you are willing to enter when you create new entries you can also do some nice statistical analysis or presentation.

Columns i would recommend are:
Name
Status := (Watching | Plan to watch | Dropped | On hold)
Episodes seen
Personal rating

And nice to have would be stuff like:
Type := (TV | OVA | ONA | Movie)
Release Date | Release Year | Release season (whatever detail you prefer)
Link to <X> (X being some website like ANN, MAL, AniDB, etc)

Keeping track of the episodes already allows you to for example estimate the total time by summing them and multiplying by 25, if you want to be more accurate you need a episode length column of course.
