This is the point you aren't getting. No one here cares about melee anymore, thus it matters not to use rules that take away from the fun aspect of the game.(non competitive wise) I know you'll say fun is subjective, but when you aren't playing the game to get better, then my fun is a better example. *Good players* What are you talkin about?! Who here in nassau are good players that actually care this much about melee to wanna get better?! The only one that comes to mind is frankel. Idk if you think anyone in my crew cares at all about playing melee to that level. I used to care, but now i don't, so i only really play it for fun, bringing in players and enjoy the game for that it is, just a game. The rules the americans use restrict players from using alot of stages and thus taking away from variety and options. If you feel like you can do a better job go ahead, i dare you to try and keep everyone interested in melee if i decide to stop caring as a whole. it'll be fail just like last year. (I remember a certain someone talking aboout *Just because you leaving doesn't mean we ga stop playing, we play because we love the game and not because of you) Wow you guys really played the game! i mean i was surpised when i came back and no one even remember what wavedashing was, how wrong you and someothers could have been. right?! right?! Accept it jpobs, no one here besides you and kel gives 2 cents about this game, other than passing time. So i am not gonna use rules that pushes me to play this game more than i already do.

I hope you get it now. 1) If no one cares about going off and getting better, why use rules that we aren't used to? 2) If you feel its a problem and you doing things the right way. why aren't you trying to take on the roll i have and keep everyone interested? (3) Why haven't this thread been closed?
I dont care if u dont want to follow the american rules, im just saying this thread has been a bunch of contradictions
1. you started wanted to change the rule but people showed you why the original rules were better
2. then you started saying you want to give new players and low tier enthusiests a chance, and i said ok fine, but for the older players, lets just stick to the better rules.
3. then you said you only play this game for fun so you dont care about getting better and dont want to have to obey rules you dont like

so im just sitting here thinking "if you dont care about getting better, why do you ever bother to play sets/counterpicking/anything"

just play friendlies forever and forget about sets at all and this wouldnt be a problem. k?

But if i listen to you i would be following the leader and doing what you said i should do.(which i would be stupid seeing that i told you i dont play follow the leader) I dont remember you buying me a cube, or a wii or anything i own in my house, so why should i listen to you, or why should u tell me how i should play my melee. I mean take me to court mr. serious. I said i don't care about getting better at the game. i just play it for the fun aspect now.( fun can mean anything, not ffas and items) I stop caring about it seriously when i got back into it.

Unless you buy my game i suggest you dont even let the words *play ya game this way or that way come out of your mouth*

Also, if i didn't start off playing this game seriously, no one here would know you or u wouldn't have ppl to practice with until u go back off. You should be sitting there thanking me for what i did for you..or yea u are the same one that used to tell me ppl here aren't going to put time and interest into a video game. I took your advice and said f* it. Now all of a sudden you want the whole world to use your rules and get better the *right way* Come on man stop contradicting yourself first.

Again, this is the last time i am saying it. I didn't care from the time i started up the thread to understand why they used your rule. I was never intending on using it. I just wanted to hear it from ppl that actually have a scene in the usa or europe. Now that i got my answer i was like ok, close the thread. I am just not that into it either way. I use my rules to bring new players and not turn them away.(Not meaning i want to be serious about it, just play new ppl) You still going on about the old good players(which only one gives a **** outside of you) So i said well if u wanna do a better job go behind the wheel and drive, looks like you scared man. Unless you can take my roll and make a difference let it dead because u might be smiling for the ppl that support you on these boards, but there flag red, white and blue.

From this angle, do you even know that it's going to attract them to the game anyway? Your best reasoning has been this:

I feel like when players come to tourneys they wanna feel like that stage they trained so hard on can be used.
This is illogical however. They can still use the stage under the current rules, but they don't get as much of an advantage from using it. Other problematic things are that the stages effectiveness is weakened lower skill level, the results aren't really affected for people of lower skill level, and there's also the other person playing the game. They too may have used a different character for a different stage, but your rules forbids them from using them.

The big problem I see though is that even a new player can see the problem with the winner of the first game having a huge advantage if the players are near enough in skill. That's unfair especially with three rounds of play. Why make a best of three if the match completely favors the winner of the first game anyway? Basically it comes down to this, the only time this rule is important is when the stages used are important, the two players are close enough in skill where they both can win a game, and when the winner of the game uses more than one character. In that situation you might make someone happy about having an easier time winning, but it's still unfair because you are stacking the odds against them in the long run.

or why should u tell me how i should play my melee
I will say this though, I don't care how you play the game, but your changing the rule doesn't really make sense. I don't think that player attendance would be affected, and that's your whole argument. Either way, I'm just saying that I don't care what you do, and I am also not telling you what to do. It doesn't affect me in any way, but I can say that the way you do things doesn't really make sense.

If i said already, its for fun to me, didn't that shut down your whole arguement and just killed this topic?! No one here cares for this game for any kinda of rules to make sense or not make sense. That is why it's call casual play. Believe me i have a thousand different things to do than put most of it into smash, like used to do before. Let the topic die already. shssh.

Unless you're coming to the bahamas or already live here, just plz don't make noise around me. It's pointless, because u aren't doing anything, but typing behind a computer. Rules only apply to keep something organised and make it flow smoothly. When something is played to passtime, why would anyone care, once its hits 2 oclock and we can go on the beach and chill with the girls, no one cares.
