I'm new to this. When I go to replace menu01.hps with one of the files from here, it says the file size is different, and won't load it. Any help with this?

Export the root of your Melee with GCR and then replace your special movie with Ganon or Luigi's adventure mode end movie of the 1 frame movie (it's on the board somewhere) to free up space, then rename whatever file you want to be the new menu music appropriately and overwrite the old hps file. There are in-depth guides on this on YT and on the boards.

Actually, it would be better to do a 2 frame movie

Having 1 frame loops into infinite/crashes the game if the video file loads.

Defragmenting your storage device helps. Try that.

Smash Crusade battlefield is a completely different (and worse) song in game

Ive been playing with loop points trying to remove the silence during looping by changing the value of the sample rate. This is the comfy room over kongo.hps. I believe hps insert is responsible for the cracking but that might be due to what I changed.
Edit: And of course I messed up somewhere. At offset 0x2ee660 it should be 0x0000d44a, not 0x0000d4ba. Should make the loop a little cleaner.
