I recommend everyone take a look at this link!
The support some people give to Agumon is wonderful!

The problem with this is that Dynamite Kick would be an aerial, but other than that it looks pretty good.
Has this idea been shared? What if similar to:ultpokemontrainer:(:ultsquirtle::ultivysaur::ultcharizard:) that Agumon functioned the same way switching to one of the three?

Agumon>Greymon>MetalGreymon

And his Final Smash being either WarGreymon or Omnimon.
Its more likely that it will just be Agumon digivolving into Greymon and having WarGreymon as the Final Smash.

I agree with this. Dynamite kick would actually work better as a down A in the air, I think crossfire should be side and I think down B should maybe be battle hawk? And yeah, I also think just having him digivolve into greymon in his normal moveset and saving wargreymon for his fs makes the most sense.

Actually.... I made that article lmao, you can see my name in the comment section and i somehow forgot about it
Those are some pretty good ideas, I thought the idea of koromon clapping at the end was pretty funny

Yeah I took it off from your suggestion! I really don't like using Battle Hawk as a move or Greymon as a character but eh that's just me. Thank you!

I had something of a similar idea for an Agumon moveset some time back:

Fighting style: Agumon is a fast, mid-lightweight character with a primarily rushdown-focused strategy, though his neutral special also gives him access to some slight zoning capability. His gameplay will be hyper offensive and his attacks will all come out super fast and aggressive, but as a tradeoff he will be easily comboed and juggled due to fast falling speed. While his attacks are very good at comboing and dealing damage, he has little KO potential aside from his Forward Smash… at least, that’s how it is normally. Agumon has a special mechanic that, utilized correctly, can greatly increase his strength in nearly all aspects.

Special Mechanic — Warp Digivolution: Taking a page from Digimon Rumble Arena 2, while playing as Agumon, special colored orbs that match the player’s shield and name color will appear sporadically across the stage, appearing at a faster rate as you deal more damage to your opponent. Agumon can pick them up just by touching them, and only the Agumon with the corresponding player color can do so. When they do, they’ll fill a special Digivolution meter on the bottom of the screen, above Agumon’s percentage indicator. When the gauge is full, Agumon will automatically digivolve to Wargreymon and stay transformed for a short time. As Wargreymon, the character gains increased damage and knockback on his moves, as well as increased weight, making them harder to KO.

Agumon’s Special Moves:
  • Neutral Special - Pepper Breath: Agumon spits out a small fireball, that travels a across the screen at a moderate pace. While it has very short range for a projectile, it can deal a good amount of hitstun to allow for follow-ups. When used in the air, it travels diagonally downward instead of forward.
  • Side Special - Mach Jab: Agumon quickly lunges forward with his claw extended, knocking the opponent diagonally forward and upward in a manner similar to Jigglypuff's pound. The attack only deals weak knockback, but it can be used to set up aerial follow-ups by savvy players. It travels a decent distance horizontally, making it useful for recovery, and you don't get put into helplessness if using the move in midair.
  • Up Special - Claw Uppercut: A simple uppercut maneuver that recovers a good distance upward, but has next to no horizontal mobility. Deals multiple hits of flinching damage before launching.
  • Down Special - Lunch Break: Agumon will pull out a cartoonishly large chunk of meat on a bone, and begin chowing down, filling his Digivolution Meter slowly. While eating, he can be interrupted by an attack. If he is, the meat will be dropped as a food item, which either player can then pick up to heal a small percentage of health. After the food is knocked away, Agumon will have to wait three seconds before using Lunch Break again.
WarGreymon’s Special Moves:
  • Neutral Special - War Driver/Terra Force: When the special button is pressed a single time, WarGreymon will perform an upward slash with his Dramon Destroyer claws, sending waves of fire across the ground. In mid-air, this will instead send a short burst of flame forward from his character model. When the special button is held down he will hold his hands above his head and gather energy into a massive fireball, which he will throw forward when the button is released. At full charge the fireball deals immense damage and knockback, even stronger than Hero’s Kafrizzle. However, unlike most chargeable moves, the charge is immediately lost upon shielding or dodging.
  • Side Special - Dramon Destroyer: A lunging claw attack, similar to Agumon’s Mach Jab. However, it deals increased damage and massively increased knockback, launching foes straight forward instead of diagonally upward. It also has super armor, making it one of his best KO options. On the flipside, it also has much more ending lag than Agumon's Mach Jab, making it unsafe on shield.
  • Up Special - Brave Tornado: WarGreymon spins rapidly and repeatedly damages any enemy caught in the attack. When used on the ground, he will remain on the ground and can move left or right, similar to Bowser’s up B. When used in the air, however, he will fly upward, and his trajectory can be tightly controlled while flying, similar to the Mii Gunner’s Arm Rocket up special. Unlike Arm Rocket, this attack deals damage on contact for its entire duration.
  • Down Special - Brave Shield: WarGreymon uses his shield as a combination counter and reflector, similar to Joker’s Tetrakarn/Makarakarn.
Final Smash - Omnimon/Omnimon Merciful Mode: Agumon/Wargreymon will swipe with his claw in an uppercut motion. A short cutscene will then play, slightly different depending on whether the attack is used by Agumon or WarGreymon. As Agumon, Gabumon will show up in the scene and merge to form Omnimon, followed up by Omnimon slashing with his Transcendant Sword attack. As Wargreymon, all of the fully-evolved partners of the DigiDestined appear, and they merge into Omnimon Merciful Mode, before following with a devastating slash with their Fearsome Blade. Though the attacks are different in appearance, they have no mechanical differences.

For the alternate costumes, I figured that it would be neat to have most of them be references to major digimon from other anime series. In order: Default, Blue (Veemon), Red (Guilmon), Lighter Red w/ White Chest (Agunimon), Slightly Lighter Default w/ Red Armbands (Savers Agumon), Purple (Gumdramon) White (SnowAgumon), and Black (BlackAgumon)

I really like that Lunch Break concept for Agumon, it feels very fitting for Digimon, haha. It would be fun if the animation played exactly the same as it does in the V-Pets, where the meat drops from the sky right in front of Agumon like so:
1573441974655.png

And he eats the meat in the same slow, frame-by-frame fashion that they do in the V-Pets. Maybe there could also be an option to feed him a protein vitamin instead, which could give him a slight buff if completely eaten, but also deal slight damage to Agumon too. Alternatively. it could buff Agumon, but also make him take slightly more damage for a bit, referencing how overfeeding vitamins to your Digimon in some of the V-Pets makes them more susceptible to being injured in battle.

I decided to write this text / theory thanks to the last video posted by PapaGenos my friend, which even showed some comments of mine about the leak of the "Duo" character. You can watch it on the Link below:

https://youtu.be/FrVPl1B_HUo

The point here is not my comments but a post made by the user "Green", which was also shown in the PapaGenos video:

leakex.jpg

So in theory the next or one of Smash Bros Ultimate's next DLC characters would be a double character, just like the Ice Climbers, but would also have elements from Terry.
So I figured this could be referring to the duo Agumon and Gabumon. Coming from Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, Agumon and Gabumon work together 100% of the time, resulting in combos all the time throughout the game's history.

images (1).jpg

Reasons pointing to Agumon and Gabumon in this case:

1 - The fact that the character works as a duo in the same way as the Ice Climbers would work similarly.

2 - Ice Climbers is a duo of characters using ice techniques, while Terry uses fire techniques. Gabumon evolutions use ice techniques while Agumon evolutions only use fire techniques.

1.jpg

3 - Ice Climbers Squall Hammer is very similar to WarGreymon's Brave Tornado:

2.jpg

4 - Terry is a character who fights physically very well, WarGreymon also fights melee almost all the time. In addition the "Power Wave" technique that travels the ground is very similar to the "Dramon Cutter" which also travels the ground with a trail of flame.

3.jpg

5 - Perhaps Agumon and its evolutions fight hand-to-hand while Gabumon and its evolutions are just behind helping with ranged techniques. It would make sense for Terry's moves to be used for Agumon while Ice Climber's ice techniques were used for Gabumon. But the two could also fight separately, that's all theory.

6 - Evolving together they could reach Omnimon in their Final Smash, which is one of the most beloved Digimon of all time! It would make sense for him to appear in Smash as well.

images (5).jpg

In short I imagine that the theme of "Ice and Fire Pair / Ice Climbers and Terry" would fit perfectly with Agumon and Gabumon. What do you think?

Actually Gabumon doesn't have any ice attacks, Garurumon has three, WereGarurumon has none and MetalGarurumon has six ice attacks. BlackGabumon has one, BlackGarurumon has three, BlackWereGarurumon has none and BlackMetalGarurumon has five ice attacks.

They are using "Road to Ultimate" to promote Digimon

View attachment 247368

Thats interesting
Of course, in Japanese, Ultimate is the name of the highest level of evolution a Digimon can achieve normally. In English this stage was renamed to "Mega", while "Ultimate" was weirdly used for the stage before Mega (which in Japanese was called "Perfect"). But, it's still interesting.

The point here is not my comments but a post made by the user "Green", which was also shown in the PapaGenos video:

So in theory the next or one of Smash Bros Ultimate's next DLC characters would be a double character, just like the Ice Climbers, but would also have elements from Terry.
So I figured this could be referring to the duo Agumon and Gabumon. Coming from Digimon Story Cyber Sleuth, Agumon and Gabumon work together 100% of the time, resulting in combos all the time throughout the game's history.

3 - Ice Climbers Squall Hammer is very similar to WarGreymon's Brave Tornado:

4 - Terry is a character who fights physically very well, WarGreymon also fights melee almost all the time. In addition the "Power Wave" technique that travels the ground is very similar to the "Dramon Cutter" which also travels the ground with a trail of flame.

In short I imagine that the theme of "Ice and Fire Pair / Ice Climbers and Terry" would fit perfectly with Agumon and Gabumon. What do you think?
Mother of God

THAT would be a ****ing wicked idea. I never thought about Agu/Gabu being a tag team the way you described it

Probably to add into the whole mega’s were supposed to be a surprise thing

I'm really starting to gun for Agumon.
In large part because I really am craving more non humans- something Smash used to have a great proportion of, which has fallen considerably as we branch into third parties and modern gaming industry (which is more human and realist). I love the silhouette rule- that a character must look unique in its character approaching set, because it means from a distance, or small, or in chaos, you can always see who you are.

I love (RIGHT NOW as character five) Agumon for so many reasons.
In nonsense- he is orange. How good for 'color theory.'
His gaming platform as a virtual pet is completely missing from Smash Bros. It may be niche, but it was a revolutionary type of game that anyone who lived through the 90s will remember.
The Pokemon rivalry can finally be fulfilled.
His mechanics as a virtual pet allow with a really unique way to take care of a character, or make it gain experience.
Agumon is a culturally known icon in Japan... I didnt realize just HOW MANY seasons there were until I got back into it recently. It never really ended in Japan. It would be a huge character there, but with internationally known appeal.
Bandai Namco is of course... lacking some content. It's the only company I can say with certainty, they 'deserve' more- it's the only way I can state they the actual creating company of the game deserves more icons. (And while I gun for Heihachi, Agumon is just more unique. We could get Tales of, but my preference is in something bigger... maybe two or three digivolutions bigger).

AND OF COURSE the silhouette.

As someone who knows a fair amount of Japanese I always thought "Complete form" was a better translation for what they call the Ultimate form. But that's just my opinion, and I agree with the translations for the other stages though

Do you think Terra Force should be treated as a Normal Special or as Final Smash?

May I ask what is that color theory? Been out of loop for a while
so far each of the fighter pass characters have a different background colour that suits them so people think they can predict other characters based on what colours have yet to been used and who they might go with

Guess cosmetic aesthetics truly matter at all. It makes me go think Sakurai and his team were like: "Okay we have Blue for Terry, now who is the next orange character?"

Lmao, people are so desperate over a character that it ranges from chairs, cushions and now colors as hints to predict who should be the next character

The chairs at least vaguely hinted at Galeem and Dharkon. Every other theory is just pure nonsense or coincidence. What next, a theory based on every game Sakurai talked about recently? The clothing he wears at the time? Or whether Sony's defeat at the invitational tourney meant anything?

I swear, the term "theory" has been turned into a complete joke by the fanbase at this point, so I have to use synonyms if I have somewhat plausible assumptions as to who else might come to the game. Me when fans try to find a pattern every time the previous one breaks:

even that feels like a stretch
In any case, it's still kind of funny how their death glows coincidentally happened to be yellow and purple. As if we the players get to personally kill the Chair Theory.

That said, even if the current color theory dies (I don't care how, it will anyway), the fandom will still somehow find something new to overanalyse for "clues" and some ****ty reason, as if Sakurai was Activision, Valve or something.

The only theory that's ever held water was the box one, and that only happened because of box designer ineptitude and leakers finding accurate info.
