I actually liked the update, because it shut a lot of people up. Besides, I like gameplay updates in general, whether I know about the technique or not.

But yeah, bubble shields are classic, as is... I guess short hopping. Those are the only things I can think of right now other than Jiggs and Ness that were in Smash and Melee that people say might not be coming back. Which is stupid. But not confirmed. =/

The only problem I see is how the buttons will work out. Obviously, with R being an automatic air dodge (in the air), where would the shielding come in? On the ground, R makes a shield, then you press a direction to roll or spot dodge.

You know, I just answered my own question. R does the same thing in the air that it does on the ground--shield--then you press a direction to dodge. Duh.

But I think shielding is better left for the ground. Juggling would be practically impossible if all your opponent had to do is hold R. Shielding is something that should be allowed, I think, only when you are most stable: When your feet are planted firmly on the ground. I think it should be like that for game play purposes.
