ive noticed how ppl persist in making g-dorf look bad, pointing out all his bad points, nerfs, and anything else that could make him low tier.
Well i think that Ganon has potential to at least be Mid-tier. Notice that I said "at least"
so i want to dedicate this thread to discussing ganon's better points, the plusses, not the minuses. the good, not bad. why he should at least be mid-tier. and compare the ups and downs.
i know he probably cant be high tier, but who knows?
discuss

He has lots of power
He is heavy
His side-b

Feel free to add more, but those are the only ones I can think off and those aren't enough for him to escape even low tier.

Firstly If your Gonna MAIN him or play him often you have to know one thing
He Sucks.
Im sorry to say but hes the slowest and His attacks have little priority over Good
Players , people like to chose like snake, etc
But you can work around that like Auto cancel dair, or edge guard with Uair.

I think he is better then Falcon, Sonic, Yoshi, and Jigglypuff solely because of his absurd KO potential, his over-b, and u-air edgeguard.

Personally, I think he's not that hot. Although he is my favorite character to play. If he were just a tad faster then I think he could definitely be much higher on the tier list. His tilt B grapple is amazing and can be used as a lead into very nice set ups, but a good player on a fast character Samus/Snake/and of the Space Mammalls just never give him any time to react and he can't land the few hits he needs to KO :(

"The first step to become better is to accept that certain characters you play suck" "Bowser, sucks." Quoted for truth from Gimpyfish.

Ganondorf is NOT good, He sucks, after knowing that, you play to his advantages, this way you avoid trying to play by covering up his weakness's, which you just can't do 90% of the time.

EDIT:I am an avid Ganondorf player, even if this sounds like I'm flaming him. Just saying.

i think if more people played gannon, his game would develop a bit, and he'd get better. but thats besides the point. if you concentrate on covering your ***, abuse his carzy tech chase game, and punish well, he can definitely beat out quite a few characters.

but yeah, comparatively, he sucks

Ekoix is right, Ganondorf has a lot of weaknesses. I think he could be low-mid, at best.

Strenghts :
> Weight
> Enormous KO potential
> Auto-Cancelled Dair (22% + following)
> RAR Uair edgeguard
> His edgeguard in general (Hehe, with a little tips i discovered :D)
> Gerudo Flame

> His recovery is not bad at all. Better than Link's and Ike's by example.

QFT

> Enormous KO potential- almost all of his moves can kill.
>Recovery- The up-b grab and slam into bottom of stage propelling enemies to their doom combo rules, and dissuades enemies from coming off the edge to gimp.

Well either way, Ganondorf definitely does not deserve the title of "Worst Character in Brawl". He looks to be near the lower end of mid-tier. Adding to Blad01's list, all his aerials are good in general, and using the face-grab as a recovery will put edge guarders on their toes, for fear of a suicide KO.

I wouldn't say his forward airs amazing. Sure it can be quite a OWNFACE move, just like everything else in his arsenal, but it particularily has quite a bit of delay and needs a bit of air height to use (Short hopping? Noo plaz) He does have an amazing anti edge hog Arsenal (Face pwn and Ledge spike with Up-B) But in general, I would put him in mid tier.

@ekoix: Uair as anti-edgeguarding is probably a whole lot more useful than ganonciding, and a well-timed edgehog will prevent any upB tricks >_>

Ganon is likely going to be low tier at best. I used to be hopeful of mid tier, but he simply has too many horrible matchups to do it. Ganon does have good points, and any ganon player knows to play to those strengths, but he still sucks. Performing well with a bad character does not make the character good. It simply means the player is performing well with the character.

I'm glad you guys accept and deal with the fact that your character is bad, unlike the Peach boards. You guys are mature. I like that.

Wut if its Nana being mid tier! Shes not controlled at all! I blame AI for being haxors at times.

Well maybe not amazing, but they are all at least somewhat useful, if only for the brute killing power, but this is Ganondorf we're talking about after all. His fair does have quite a bit of lag, and isn't that viable for a SHFF move. His uair is also pretty good for edgeguarding, you can Tipman-spike with a reverse uair.

Thank you! :) This reminds of what Gimpyfish said once, that once you accept your characters weaknesses, you can really mold your playstyle around them. Youtube link:

That's the video I'm talking about, and it really is good advice if you want to master your main.
